AutosRe: Lhd Conversion Expert In Lagos Holla; C/o Erico2k2 by Midas02(m): 4:39pm On May 29, 2009
Nope, ,,,,,,,,,,,, Acura TL dashboard and components won't work!!

Acura TL is actually slightly bigger and wider than a US spec Honda Accord. It's development was entirely based on creating a more upscale model from the US spec Honda Accord platform! The Euro Accord is essentially the same as the Japanese domestic market (JDM) Honda Accord which is a narrower car!

@Ikeymann is just being stubborn and obdurate people make terrible mistakes!!!. I have told him - go get a donor car from the German market!
The euro spec Accord is available in LHD in other european countries too such as France, Spain and Belgium. But I think his best bet is Germany.
That car is going to need other stuffs apart from dashboard, he might as well get everything there!

The only other alternative I can think of (and you can check this yourself) is to use the dashboard from the American Spec 1994-1997 Honda Accord model called 'Bulldog' (CD-4 chassis). The Euro and JDM Accord that was manufactured from 1998 - 2002 (CF-4 chassis) is well known in the inner circles to be a slightly updated version of the previous CD-4 chassis. The Dash would most probably fit, you may however have to improvise on the fitments of a few other components that may not be exact fits such as Steering rack and pinion etc.

AutosRe: My Honda Civic Millenium Model Suddenly Stop While On Top Gear by Midas02(m): 7:53am On May 29, 2009
Sultaan!! ,,,,,,,,,,,haba!!! oil condition/check ke?? grin

@Yemisiol
Three questions:
1) What year is this Honda Civic Millenium?
2) Before your Honda started cutting off on the highway, would it refuse to start occassionally? (for example; after a trip somewhere, when you want to leave and drive home, it would not start and you have to wait a while). Was your Honda doing that??
3) Does it cut off on the highway (top gear/top speed) on every single trip or does it do it randomly and unpredictably?

Let me know.

AutosRe: 2003 Acura 3.5 Rl by Midas02(m): 8:52pm On May 28, 2009
@Mr FreshMoney,

Is it by force?? If your don't have the funds you can simply move on and stop venting your fustration on the poor guy. He is not forcing anybody to buy,  is he??

And by the way, a 2003 Acura RL is not remotely overpriced at N2.7Million. Heck! the car kelly blue book value of the car at 76K is nearly $12,000.00! And this is using the Private Party Value (PPV). If I use the retail value (Dealers Price), then you may well be looking at $14,000.00!! (this things are not free you know?). By the time you ship the car and clear it thru Nigerian customs, you will be at close to $16,000.00. For the sake of clarity, I will lay it down for you:

Purchase Price:         $12,000.00  ( Using Kelly Blue Book, PPV)
Shipping:                   $ 1,500.00  (Using my own experience from the East Coast of the US as a basis)
Clearing:                   $ 2,000.00   (Luxury sedan price as per my Agent)

TOTAL:                      $15,500.00

Using the above, the landed cost is easily $15,500.00 X N180.00 : this will give us N2,790,000.00

I will have to assume that the seller is either not making any profits or was able to get it at a very sweet deal. Either way. I think he deserves to sell the car as he wishes and if he chooses to try and make some profit, I see nothing wrong with it.

Freshmoney, next time you don't like a price, I will advise you to go to blackmarket buy some dollars, go to the airport, pick up a ticket and fly over to whatever place you think you can get it cheaper. Fuming and making noise doesn't help.

I think Nairalanders are spoilt to even have the option of buying at the prices I see here (many of the prices are not sustainable!). Considering the exchange rate and where I think the naira is headed, you better tighten your belt and get whatever deals you can lay your hands on!. If you think somebody else is in business to loose money, then you have got another thing coming!
If you want to blame somebody - Blame "President YAR-DO-NOTHING" AND HIS COHORT!!!
Car TalkRe: Nairalanders Please Help Rx300 by Midas02(m): 8:24pm On May 28, 2009
what is the problemhuh? There is nothing so different about an RX-300. It essentially uses a variant of the same 3.0L V6 found in Toyota Highlander, Toyota Camry, Toyota Avalon and Toyota Sienna.

Tell me the riddle,, perhaps I can tell you the interpretation smiley

AutosRe: Custom Order Your Car From The USA To Nigeria (VIEW NEW ORDERS FOR 2009!) by Midas02(op): 5:46pm On May 28, 2009
@Zoomzu,

The cars you requested are really best ordered from Europe. Although there are VW Golfs here, it is increasingly difficult to find Golf MK III cos they are older and were not imported into the US in great numbers! Golf MK IV are much easier to find. Nevertheless, I will still search diligently for what you specified. Thanks.
Car TalkRe: What Could Be Wrong With My Car? I Need Help. by Midas02(m): 7:36pm On May 27, 2009
@Auto freak

You can't just apply some advice for another person's car to your circumstance! You knocked out all the Catalytic converter filter without even remembering that I said that you should check that this is the problem first! - this is why I listed those steps in (4), (5), (6), (7) and (cool!.

Your problem seems very different fron Danchiks' problem. Your check engine light is on for a reason and the codes you specified strongly suggests to me that you have an EGR valve (Exhaust gas recirculating valve) and MAFS (Mass Airflow Sensor) problem. Your MAFS is the one that determines the Air to Fuel ratio and it doesn't seem to be functioning well at lower temperatures and this is why your car keeps cutting off when cold.

Essentially, your engine may be burning too rich or too lean (depends). Since the EGR valve is largely controlled by the MAFS information output to the ECU, I will suggest that you replace your EGR valve first (also EGR valve is much cheaper than MAFS). I will also advise you to clean out your Air intake/inlet manifold and your MAFS with cleaning fluids while you at it. If you are lucky, it is probable that your MAFS is not faulty or damaged, and you will not need to replace it.

If all these fails, then you may simply need to replace your MAFS (Mass Airflow Sensor) with a new one. Goodluck.

PS: Make sure you use a Mechanic with a modicum of common sense and NOT a crude slowpoke!!

Yes, a boring 2004 Camry. Thankfully it wasn't all that popular in the local market. Essentially the same with the US market Camry.

The 2002 Toyota Allion. I was pleasantly surprised at the popularity of this model in the local market. It does share some commonality with the Avensis but is completely different. The reason for its popularity soon became obvious, it was the model that replaced the all popular Carina!

Did you ever wondered what happened to Toyota Cressida?? Well, Toyota did not kill it, they simply went on to call it a new name: Toyota Cresta. And yes!, they made them all the way to 2000 before completely replacing it with another model and name. Believe it or not, this nice Cresta (grandson of cressida) is still a RWD (Rear wheel drive car). Extremely popular in japan for the purpose of wicked "driftings!"

Here is a spotless 2000 Toyota Cresta Sedan!:
