FASHOLA's actions were aimed at the South-East and South-South

Just look at the names of those unlucky souls who were deported in their own country. [/size]

Stop fraternizing with the SS, they detest the ibos very much. You are not loved by any ethnic group in Nigeria

and it will close down too, with time because of poverty.
one of the things i can't understand about yoruba people is that
the most intelligent ones are the most useless when it comes to practical things
that is why all their engineers are totally useless
while igbo engineers are building things

What are you building in your towns and villages? if you are so bright, why dont you develop your region?

I work with data not sentiments. You are way below Igbos academically, a fact proven over and over again. We do not have a higher college cut-off mark than you for nothing.

Yes, a few Igbos commit crimes in foreign countries. They are just dumb to do so in Islamic countries where the penalty is death. However, the crimes committed by your brothers in US, Canada, UK and Brazil, Ghana and elsewhere tops whatever crimes Igbos commit. You are just lucky that these countries have no death penalty, otherwise ya'll would be dead by now. It is known that 80% of Yorubas in the UK are incestious illegal immigrants marrying themselves on and off to remain in that country. Now buzz off buddy, I have MORE IMPORTANT stuff to do.

You are a joker arent you? do you remember the only Nigerian on FBI wanted list recently?

You go by data? Go and get back to me about the ethnicity of the Nigerians in prisons abroad- can you do that for us please Mr data?

Have you heard about the annual world cup in Malaysian and Indonesian prisons? Do you know the Nigerian team have won in the last 15 years represented with your able brothers. Bros please dont talk about crime and use Yoruba and Ibo in same sentence. You folks are legendary and have a great reputation. Do they have death penalty in SA and Kenya where your people are doing wonders in crime?

Classicalman: SHUT UP OLODO. So if an abdulrahman or osunbor or adebayo claims he is from Anambra, that is enough reason to send him back? Without any verification from the home state? Have you seen that you reason via your anuz. Yorubas are asking for trouble and trouble they shall get soon. Mark my words.

Shatapp there Olodo , The same threats we got from Ohaneze Eze Ndigbo Ojukwu - where did that lead you. Go and ask your elders in your village as it seems you didnt do history at school. Awon eran igbe

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse. You live in a bubble, really. Wake up from your sleep. Igbos are by far more and better educated than Yorubas. Evey available data have shown that both within and outside Nigeria. While Igbos abroad think home you guys stay put in London and USA committing all kinds of financial fraud, all kinds of of fake visa crimes, marrying and sleeping with your daughters and sisters to enable you either remain in the UK or to bring them abroad, and more recently becoming global terrorists (jihadists) hacking people down with machetes on the streets of London or threatening Americans.

I can't help laughing on your claim of investments. So Igbos don't invest in stocks and don't build houses? Who owns most of the houses in Lekki and other choice places in Lagos? That is even your own land. Why not visit the Enugu thread here on NL and see what Enugu people are doing, let alone Abriba or Anambra. It is okay to be ignorant, but it is bad when you refuse to be weaned of your ignorance.

The federal Gov so recognized that we are better than you academically that they gave us a higher cut off mark than you to be able to enter Unity Schools. Go figure.

Even the most bigoted and hateful Ibos know that they have at least 200+ years to get to the literacy level of the south west, Ondo sate alone will decimate all of you academically. You are the one living in a bubble and your failure to face the facts is quite disturbing.

Now you talk about crime lol shocked grin Are you for real?? Have you seen the link circulating around NL where Indonesian government is cutting all your igbo brothers prick in Indonesian prisons??

coogar: peter obi is a pathological liar.......i keep wondering what he wanted the LASG to have done in this case? the deportees travelled in the night with a van of mobile police officers and arrived anambra in the wee hours of the morning......

what's the big deal? security was provided for them according to the reports i have read. is peter obi disagreeing with the 3am arrival of the deportees or is he in disagreement of the deportation of his kinsmen? he should come out and say instead of lying through his teeth.

Dont mind the mofos - they were probably exhausted after eating Akpu and consuming lethal amouts of Palmwine and probably sleeping with each other which is a common trait with them and forgot to pick up their own people at the given time.

All the jobless and destitute on the streets of lagos, are they all none lagosians, if amond the said ppl are lagosians where will dey be deported to?

Stupid question, lagosians who are unfortunately destitute is the governments responsibility and that is why they have rehab centers for them. The ones from Igbo land are deported sharp sharp. Did you read the memo well? This is an ONGOING EXERCISE

Replaced by who? I ask you why are Yorubas not dominating the markets in Lagos already?

Answer: only few Yorubas are rich and those are super rich (Otudeko, Adenuga, etc). In Yorubaland it is the same rich people being recycled and few new rich persons are coming into the club. So unless Otudeko etc buy the shops and give them out free to the masses of the Yorubas, only few can afford the rents Igbo boys pay in those shops.

In Igboland, wealth is more evenly spread and almost everyone can do stuff because they have reasonable disposable incomes.

Igbos abroad also send money home to their people than SW people abroad. If I tell you how much I send home periodically for one project or the other, you will know what that means for the millions of Igbos living abroad.

Intrinsically we are not criminally minded and heartless to be selling fake products, furthermore we are far more educated than Ibos which is why we are more inclined to be in the service sector- we are light years ahead of you in this regard.

You think the business of bringing ladies pants and bras from China in containers is superior business sense- when yorubas are transacting millions everyday on the stock exchange. I laugh at your comment about sending money home- ibos are known to send money to buy meaningless chieftancy titles while Yorubas are investing in property and the stock market.

For those on nairaland who think they can eject the igbos from lagos, why not make good your threat instead of howling on a faceless forum. Keep shouting while the traders go about making their millions. Peace to all peace loving yorubas.

Errm 72 of your brothers and sisters were deported a few days ago. How come there hasnt been any retaliation? grin

They close it and lose the revenues from them. Simple. If it was that easy, Yorubas would already be in charge of those places as the principal shop owners. Afterall, the land is Yorubaland, so why dont they rent the shops to Yorubas only? Look, there are things Igbos are born to do that Yoruba cannot do. I dare Lagos to close the markets. Besides, are you going to close Igbo companies (not market shops) in Lagos too.

I noticed you ignored the latter part of my post. grin I never said they will, I said they can and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. If they decide to , you lot can be easily replaced

From the wiki (which I personally don't like to work with), Abia is better than Oyo. But GDP alone is crap without looking at GDP-PPP, in which case even Imo is better than Oyo. But then those are paper figures. In reality Oyo is poor and the reasons is due to the amala-type existence that people like Adedibu bestowed on them. If Shoprite is already complaining few months after coming to Ibadan, it speaks volume about the disposal incomes of the people.

Igbo States (especially Abia and Anambra) due to the nature of their economies (indirect, personal, private) have no reliable GDP data. Anambra should be directly after Lagos and Rivers. But the people sabi hide their wealth so they do not pay taxes to the state.

Is that the evidence for your comment that the wealth in Lagos is 60% Non Yoruba ^^^^

Have you been to the wharf in Lagos? Can you tell how many of the shippers are Yoruba? Does the wharf even belong to Lagos State? Lagos economywhatever it is worth, belongs to Lagos of course. Only a foooooool will argue that. But for the primordial argument going on here, we need to be sure of who owns what in Lagos before we begin to brag. Thanks.

PS: You also forgot to add that Lagos was Nigeria's former capital developed very well with oil money coming from elsewhere.

Who ships what into the country via Lagos is largely immaterial. I think you have failed to understand what I am trying to say to you, you are lucky that you have a very progressive people , the Yorubas that give you the opportunity to even do your business. Lagos state government can decide to close Ladipo and Alaba tomorrow and there is nothing you can do. I think you really overestimate Igbo wealth tbh. Igbos are largely present in the primary and tertiary sector while the Yorubas dominate the services which is what generates the most wealth. All the revenue from fake spare parts in Alaba in a Year is what Globacom makes every week.

Now you see how difficult it is to prove who owns Lagos without defining what you mean?

Let me help you:

ACN Lagos recently said Igbos in Lagos are 45% of the population
Ngige (ACN Anambra) yesterday said Igbos are 25 % of Lagos population
We do not have a true census of Lagos showing the different ethnicities. However I believe the true answer lies in between those two figures

If Igbos are at the least 25% of Lagos, then Hausa/Fulani is what?, Edo Delta and Calabar and Rivers are what? Middle belters are what? Foreigners are what? Do the maths inyour brain and tell me what is left.

On Economy, list all the companies and bussineses (big and small) and subtract the Yoruba ones.
On nativity you would have to ask the Aworis and the Badagrians who truly owns Lagos and. However, on face value and not to prolong a needless argument, we all can assume that Lagos is a native Yorubaland.

And yes, Lagos govt has a right to make decisions, but the residents (Yoruba and non-Yoruba) also have a right to criticize such decisions if they need to.

Firstly, if anyone honestly thinks that Igbos form almost half of lagos then there could be a case for testing such with delusion and probably schizophrenia. Igbos will form about 20% at best but that is immaterial because at the end of the day, even if they form 90% of the population they are still immigrants there.

Secondly, your position about the economy of Lagos is a very faulty deduction. Lagos state because of its proximity to a port, relatively wealthier population and the fact that successive governments have been pragmatic enough to create a viable commercial environment for businesses to operate are the reasons why Lagos has attracted a lot of immigrants from other parts of the country. For example It is just like saying because that most of the investments in the Irish Economy is by American businesses then Ireland belongs to Americans- No, they have created an enabling environment to attract investment which is what Lagos has done very well - better than other parts of the country. As you will know, governments can also formulate policies if they feel that there are some maladjustments- remember how Obasanjo Government in the 70s expropriated British companies- turned British Petroleum to African petroleum etc.

As long as the land belongs to the Lagos government, they can legislate and enforce the laws they feel will be in the best interest of their citizens. I agree that both indigenes and residents have a right to criticise and protest but that will become unlawful if the LASG's decision becomes law.

Stop being silly. You cannot be on the board and management team if you do not have a stake in any company. Now go and remove all the non-Yorubas on the list and come back and compare FBN with other banks. It will be equal to WEMA.

Zenith
Diamond
Fidelity
Union Bank
Access Bank
Igbos have either highest or second highest stake
First Bank: Igbos have quite high stake too.

You are a non starter. List all the companies in Lagos (big and small), all the retail and wholesale businesses, all the transport businesses, all the entertainment business, all the hotels, and their owners, so we know what each brings to the Table, do all the additions and substractions, and see what's left that belongs to Yoruba. Until you do that, you are a non starter.

'Deportation' of Igbos from Lagos: Senator Ngige speaks

Former Governor of Anambra State and Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige has addressed the media on the alleged deportation of ndi Igbo from Lagos State. Senator Ngige stated this in a letter to Aka Ikenga a socio cultural group which had requested that he take up the matter with the Governor of Lagos State. Below are

the contents of his letter and attached annexes( communication between Lagos State and Anambra governments)

Greetings,

I write in respect of the above subject matter, which Aka Ikenga at its 28th July, 2013 general meeting which I was privileged to attend as Special Guest of Honour, requested me to take up with the Lagos State Government. I am glad to inform you that I was received in audience the day after, by His Excellency; Governor Raji Babatunde Fashola( SAN) the Governor of Lagos State and the issue was discussed exhaustively.

At the meeting, the Lagos State Governor disclosed that contrary to claims, the issue in question has nothing to do with deportation, but a Social Welfare Intervention, involving several homeless destitutes and other psychiatric cases roaming the streets and some living under the bridges in Lagos. These people were taken in and treated and cared for by the Lagos State Government free of charge and thereafter needed to be reintegrated with their families.

After this rehabilitation the affected people disclosed their true identities and the disclosure revealed that 14 of them were from Anambra State. For the purpose of reintegration with their kith and kin back home( most of them had nobody in Lagos) and for further social support and care, Lagos State Government communicated the Anambra State Government as well as other affected state governments to come forward and identify and take over their people. (see letter as annex 1)

On receipt of this communication, Anambra State Government requested for the identities of those claiming to be from the state( see letter as annex 2). The list was promptly supplied to them by Lagos State for immediate and urgent action( see letter as annex 3).

With further contact and pressure Anambra State Government preferred that the handing over be done at bridge head and Lagos State obliged but found no Anambra State Government Representative on arrival at the agreed date and was hence forced to leave the people at a government office they found at the Niger Bridgehead.

The Lagos State Government further explained that this kind of exchange of destitutes occur between states, as she recently went to Akwa Ibom State to take back two of her rehabilitated citizens.( see letter as annex 4).

You will recall Mr. President of Aka Ikenga, that I had assured the Aka Ikenga members that the Lagos State Government that I am familiar with will not go out of its way to cause hardship to our people and this is evident in its disposition as the first Government of Lagos State to appoint an Igbo as a commissioner and many others into other cabinet positions.

For promotion and maintenance of the good relationship that exists between the Igbos who form about 25% of the population of Lagos State and their Lagos host, I have secured an appointment for you, the President and Executive members of Aka Ikenga to further discuss this matter and other sundry issues affecting Ndi Igbo in Lagos State, with the Lagos State Governor on a date that will be mutually agreed by both parties.

As a member of the Action Congress of Nigeria ( ACN), which is the party in power in Lagos State, I wish to further reassure you and Aka Ikenga in particular and Ndi Igbo in general, that the government of Lagos State, that I am familiar with does not and will not harbour any anti Igbo agenda, as being, insinuated in some certain quarters.

Accept as usual the assurances of my highest regards.

Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige, MD, OON, KSJ

Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District

( Former Governor Anambra State, 2003-2006 )

Please go to the site of First bank, remove all the non-Yorubas on the board and management (board/management = largest shareholders) and see what remains and compare it to other banks in Nigeria. Only then can you say FBN is Yoruba Bank.
