I had a similar experience not quite long. went to a government hospital in Kwara state for medical test required to process my law school admission. was asked to go to one office like that, only for the guy to be acting like he's my brother, he took me to the doctor, incidentally we bear the same surname. just told the doctor that na im sister I be, make she write the necessary prescription.
He told me I'll pay #2000 for hospital stamp and report after concluding the lab test. what I noticed was, the doctor didn't mention any money to me, I suspected a foul play, so he took me back to the doctor to write the report, the lady told her to go that she'll attend to me later, my guy took a few steps, turned back and told me not to forget the stamp money, that he has begged them to reduce it to #1500. I said ok

I already planned my escape route, but had no choice when the doctor said he'll be the one to stamp it, on getting to his office, he collected the money first and kept in the drawer, then locked it, that was when I knew it was a scam.
Any money that belongs to the hospital will be paid to the revenue or account dept with receipt, any other money paid through any other means goes to those thieves pocket.

where I wanted to do xray, I was told to buy gloves compulsorily at the rate of #50, the gloves were collected but wasn't used for me, that means they'll take it back and resell it again.
