(2) bank recapitalisation and consolidation - banks had to increase their capital base from 2billion to a minimum of 25billion. Thereby strenghtening these banks not only to engage in d activities of securing customers deposits but also been buoyant enuf to carry out capital projects to improve the Nigerian economy.
(3) be4 soludo's era, Nigeria had 85 banks that couldn't compete favourably in Africa but during his tenure we have 25 solid banks. Atleast 5 of these banks are among the top ten banks in Africa 2 of these were among the top 100 banks on planet earth. (4) in soludo's era the capital and money mkt was operating vibrantly with foreign investorsqueuing to buy the shares of these banks but it is not the case today.
I could go on... The same banks Sanusi claims are insolvent are the same banks collecting various awards both home and abroad before he(sanusi) became the CBN boss. How could that be possible? All these are FACTS if u care to carry out ur own research. I am saying this cos i wrote an article on this back then. And the project i wrote back then in shool was about bank recapitalisation in Nigeria. No beefin but in Sanusi's wildest dream he can never picture or accomplish what a person like Soludo achieved.
