"Let’s start with three simple questions: (1) in what ways has your life and the lives of your relatives and friends and neighbors improved since Jonathan became the acting and later substantive president; (2) what are his concrete and meaningful accomplishments in terms of political and economic growth and development; and (3) if he has not positively impacted your life the last six years, what makes you think he would after you entrust him with another four years? Believe me:there is nothing to be gained pouring water in a basket."

y u dey squeeze face? Na lie? What could be more embarrassing than this? Over 200grls missing and no trace of them @ all for almost a year now. This grls probably are in Nigeria. Do you know the implication of this? It has tarnished the image of the Nigerian security agencies and Nigeria as a whole.

How can such a large number of grls be missing without a trace. They weren't kidnapped with an aeroplane. They must have used buses. And the buses defin8ly must be more than 20..Now tell me, how could this have happened without any1 taking note? Its a big slap on our face as a nation. Truth be told

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Mohammadu Buhari Wednesday tasked the federal government on the over 200 missing girls, saying the ill development was the greatest embarrassment Nigerian has received since independence in 1960.

Buhari also said that his regime in 1983 built refineries that could produce 50,000 to 450,000 barrel of oil per day with money realized from the Nigerian economy without borrowing a dime from external sources.

The candidate who spoke at a town hall meeting on security in Abuja on Wednesday as part of the electioneering campaign said that his party had identified three key areas which had become the core problems starring the country in the face.

His position was a response to questions raised by some participants to the meeting.

According to buhari, the problems were insecurity, destruction of the economy and corruption which he said has become vicious.

He faulted the federal government’s approach in fighting the insurgency in the north east in the absence of comprehensive welfare policy or plan for the soldiers in the battle field.
He said that no one should expect any soldier to perform miracles in the battle field when there were no good welfare packages for them and their families.

He said: “I have said that the APC as a party has identified three fundamental problems in this country. You cannot repeat them so often because everybody talk about them. They are insecurity, the destruction of the economy and corruption which has become a vicious.

“The state of insecurity as we said when the election was extended by six weeks is that if the Nigerian government and the military could me not tame Boko Haram for five years, what will they do in six weeks. But I think that some positive moves have been made, but we are still at it.

“The first thing they should have done is to make sure that you have a good plan on the ground to take care of the welfare of the law enforcement agents.

“You can’t send someone on an operation for months when his family is living in wants without medical care, no school and no good neighborhood and you want him to serve the country. So, if you get disappointed now that soldiers on road block have started saying “wetin you chop remain” as many of their colleagues were doing many years ago.

I know GMB is not as bad as the other politicians but with the kind of people surrounding him and his past utterances and actions as a former coupist, I don't fancy him. Buhari was part of the military era that created these problems in nigeria today.

They derailed our democracy. Why should we honour him with the same institution that he swore to protect but instead turned around and truncated it? Are we trying to thank him for overthrowing Shagari's govt? Are we thanking him for oppressing nigerians and jailing innocent politicians from the south?

I don't see why I should vote for Buhari. I didn't vote Obasanjo for the same reason. You don't spit in the same plate you wanna eat from. A matter of principle.

I Thought you said GEJ is solely responsible for security abi? then let him do his job. When it comes to blame game, you blame him for failing to provide security and now when it comes to decision making, you want to take part.
yea, when its strictly on security...this has something to do with election. The decision they arrive @ will surely affect other parties.

Lai would've been correct if d meeting was not for security matters. Jonathan was at d meeting as president to whom security matters are reported to, he wasn't there as PDP candidate. and he shouldn't abandon his duty as chief security officer just because he's contesting an election.
dat notwithstanding, he should have invited @ least a representative from other political parties. That wld make transparent his sincerity...@ least the meeting haz sumting to do with the elections.

PoliticsIt’s Wrong For Jonathan To Summon Electoral Umpire, Jega At Will – APC by midolian(op): 12:31pm On Mar 18, 2015
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the President’s decision to summon INEC Chairman Attahiru Jega to a meeting that was not attended by other political parties in Abuja on Tuesday is part of ongoing moves to compromise the integrity of the electoral commission, which is expected to be fair and neutral.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said it is wrong for the President, who himself is a candidate in the forthcoming elections, to be summoning the electoral umpire at will, especially when such meetings are populated by his appointees.

”Without the representatives of other political parties attending such meetings, irrespective of whether or not it is aimed at briefing security chiefs on the preparations for the polls, the ruling PDP and its presidential candidate are seeking to gain undue advantage over others ahead of the elections.

”It is like the referee in a football match meeting with key officials of one of the teams ahead of the match. This is against the spirit of transparency and fairness and must stop forthwith.

”Had the representatives of other political parties apart from the PDP (the President is the leader of the PDP) attended the meeting, the widespread speculations that Jega’s life and job were threatened if he fails to drop the use of the card reader, as well as circulating reports that he will be removed before Saturday, would not have happened,” it said.

APC said whatever briefings must be given by the INEC chairman on the elections must have in attendance the representatives of all the political parties that will participate in the elections.

It also decried clandestine meetings between some key presidency and INEC officials with a view to rigging the elections, warning the presidency to steer clear of the electoral officials if indeed they are desirous of a free, fair, credible and peaceful elections.

Meanwhile, the party has said the Presidency and the PDP cannot and must not be allowed to profit from their sponsorship of ethnic militias, including MASSOB and OPC, to create chaos and violence before, during and after the elections.

It said the plot by the duo is to make the country so unsafe before the polls that members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), who are supposed to serve as electoral officials, will simply say they can no longer participate in the elections because they fear for their lives.

”This will simply truncate the elections and trigger a constitutional crisis, the exact scenario being plotted by the Jonathan Administration and the PDP to allow them to either perpetuate themselves in office or install an interim government,” APC said.

It said another booby trap on the path of holding the elections as rescheduled are the pending court cases against the use of the card reader by INEC.

”Nigerians should note that nothing is yet guaranteed as far as the holding of the rescheduled elections is concerned. The Jonathan Administration and the PDP are still shopping for a court judgement to declare the use of the card reader unconstitutional, just because they are now painfully aware that Nigerians have rejected them and their party..

” APC saidWe are therefore calling on all our compatriots to be more vigilant in the next few days to the elections. We are also alerting local and foreign observers, and the international community, to the ongoing shenanigans by the Jonathan Administration and the PDP to scuttle the
polls"
