Ebora Owu has spoken... "The fly that refuses to heed to advice, will foolishly follow the food into the mouth"..A word is enough for the wise. |
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has warned against a rumoured plot by the current administration of President Goodluck Jonathan to handover to the military, adding that such act will undermine the integrity of Nigeria among the comity of nations. He said this on Tuesday at his Hilltop presidential residence in Abeokuta while playing host to the South-West women of the All Progressives Congress, led by the Hajia Aisha Buhari, the wife of the party’s presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.). Obasanjo, who noted that he was happy that the country had gone beyond the rumour of having an Interim National Government, however warned that he hoped the country would also survive the rumour of handing over to the military. He said, “I do hope we will get things more right. A lot of rumours are flying around, I think we have gone away from the rumour of interim government because that is not in our constitution. “I hope we will soon go away from the rumour of handing over to the military because the military is not meant to run affairs of a nation in terms of running government.” Obasanjo said if the country should fall into this trap, the international community would not condone it According to him, Nigeria has all it takes to dictate the pace for other countries in Africa, adding that Nigerians should blame themselves for where it is today. He said, “The intentional community will not condone it, particularly African Union, where we have a situation. We have said and it is part and parcel of the constituting act of the African Union. Any government that is brought about, not on the basis of the constitution, will not be accepted, will not be tolerated and will not be a member of the AU until that government is dismantled. “It shouldn’t be. We are the largest country in Africa. We should be a model, setting examples; we shouldn’t be drawing Africa backward. I hope we will not. I hope at the end of this exercise, we would be where we should be, leading Africa and showing examples for the rest of Africa and indeed the rest of the world. “We have the goodwill of many people. I watched last night, President (Barack) Obama talking about our constitution. I watched out brother from Ghana, the current Chairman of ECOWAS, talked about our constitution. They are all interested, they all wish us well. Should we wish ourselves anything less?” Recently, the former President had warned the current administration not to plunge the country into chaos by following the footsteps of the former President of Cote d’lvoire, Laurent Gbagbo, who refused to handover to the winner of the presidential election, after he had lost. Obasanjo also condemned hate campaigns among politicians, advising that they should focus more on what unites the country as opposed to what divides the country. According to him, for anyone who is interested in the future of this country, issues of insecurity, economy, employment, among others should form the focus of political campaigns. http://www.punchng.com/news/obasanjo-warns-against-handing-over-to-military/ |

LWKMD.. Abeg na why ds woman fear prison like ds? I believe she and her husband mst hav committed a lotta unpardonable offences for her to be campaigning all over Nigeria with "Buhari will send you to prison". I am sure she can't sleep @ night thinking how 300yrs in prison will be like |
First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, on Monday, warned women in Enugu against voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, as he would send them to jail. Mrs. Jonathan spoke in Enugu while campaigning for her husband, President Goodluck Jonathan, who is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Saturday’s presidential election. “Buhari’s wife said the other day that I should not bother, that I will not be put in prison if her husband comes to power. “Women, please go and ask her, who put Mbakwe and his wife in prison. If you vote for Buhari, you will go to prison,” she told hundreds of women who gathered at Michael Okpara Square in Enugu to receive her campaign train. She recalled that the same person jailed Jim Nwobodo on allegations of corruption and when Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu returned from exile, he threw him into jail until another administration came and released the Igbo leader. http://dailyindependentnig.com/2015/03/vote-buhari-go-jail-mrs-jonathan-tells-enugu-women/ |

temitemi1:even if the topic reads "GEJ slumped and died", your comment remains "GEJ till 2019"....your programming too bad, bros Mugabe |
Muazu is now talking...And the gullible ones are happy typing "GEJ till 2091"..SMH One question the PDP should ask themselves is "Why is it now that Mua'zu is talking?". After they (the PDP) hav noticed and have accused him of working for APC. The answer is simple. Its all "Make believe". PDP should expect the biggest shocker in the next few days. CHANGE is inevitable |
AHEAD of the Presidential and general elections holding Saturday, March 28 and April 11, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP yesterday pleaded with former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, retd, former Chief of General Staff, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, retd, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah to ask the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC to stop insulting President Goodluck Jonathan. Speaking yesterday at PDP National Secretariat, Abuja when members of Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar-led National Peace Committee on Election visited him, Muazu told the Committee members that the Presidential candidate of APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, retd and other key stakeholders of the party must stop portraying President Jonathan as a bad product. Also with Ukiwe during the visit was the Chairman of Dangote group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, among others. Speaking further, Muazu told his visitors that rather than insult and attempt to ridicule President Jonathan, the APC should tell Nigerians what they would do better with their candidate, adding that though it was not the policy of the PDP, but some younger members of the party had no choice than to react in commensurate manner to attacks from the opposition as they were pushed to the wall. Muazu who noted that as the National Chairman of the ruling party, all he could do was to be a good salesman of President Jonathan designed to make the electorate cherish him, said, “This is the kind of committee we need to be our watchdog, to be our prompters so that we do what is absolutely required to have very credible, peaceful and transparent elections and for such a result that would come out of the elections for us to be happy with. “Mr. Chairman, I want to assure you that the Peoples Democratic Party will be running a very fair campaign led by me. If you watch my utterances personally, you will find that there is nothing I do than to be a good salesman of what I should be, for my party and for my President. “I have enough to say about my President that are positive to make people adore him and love him, to vote for him. I have very little to say about the opposition. “Unfortunately, when the opposition goes haywire, some of our small boys in our own party also shout back. And that is why you have some of the unfortunate things. “Believe me, I always give them a very strong signal that we don’t expect that. That is why it is not more than it has been. It would have gone even much worse. It is absolutely unnecessary to call somebody’s product bad product. It is better for you to sell your product and show how good or better your product is than the others. “For us, we do not have any doubt that our product, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has all we need to sell in a president and therefore we do not need to speak ill about others. “But I only want to assure you Mr. Chairman, that by the grace of the Almighty God, we have heard your advice and your words as elders are words of wisdom. We will continue to improve and increase in our caution and the use of our words and whatsoever use of negative campaigns for the next few days until the Election Day.” Earlier in his remarks, chairman of the committee, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar who noted that the committee had observed that some of the utterances coming from party leaders at the ongoing campaign did not fit into the recently signed Abuja Peace Accord that was signed by representatives of various political parties. The former Head of State who was represented by former Chief of General Staff (CGS), Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, retd who expressed the hope that there would be a peaceful election to usher in a new administration, said that the committee therefore would want encourage the PDP to as much as possible “go back” to what was agreed at the the peace accord. He said, go back to the language that will unite rather than divide us. We hope the election will go on peacefully and the opinion of most Nigerians respected. “We will continue to pray and watch what is going on. We will continue to pray for peaceful election. Let the effort for peace and progress continue.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/tell-buhari-apc-to-stop-insulting-jonathan-muazu-tells-abdulsalami-ukiwe-kukah-dangote-others/ |
