MetaPhysical: If he is allowed to resign as the CJN he can remain in practice as a lawyer until retirement and his entitlement kicks in. If his resignation is rejected he can opt for early retirement but if that is also rejected then he is in deep trouble. An indictment will de-bar and de-robe him, his entitlement is canceled and he could be sentenced to prison.
Its important that SS Governors lead a team to Buhari to concede Onnoghen's error and plead for mercy on him. The emboldened will surely happen in no distant time, but Onnoghen deserves no mercy. A business man who deals in trading judgements deserve no mercy. Buhari's anti-corruption war will become an object of ridicule by Nigerians and the world at large. |

Politics › What Will Happen If Buhari Rejects Onnoghen’s Resignation – Clarke by midolian(op): 8:08am On Apr 08, 2019 |
Chief Robert Clarke, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has warned President Muhammadu Buhari against rejecting resignation of Suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.
DAILY POST recalls that the lawyer to the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria(CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), disclosed that his client took the decision in the interest of the judiciary.
Speaking on the development, Clarke on Channels Tv on Sunday blamed Onnoghen for his present predicament, adding that a petition by the EFCC should have warranted Onnoghen’s resignation since February.
He further noted that President Muhammadu Buhari’s Government should be given credit for taking the head of the judiciary to a tribunal but warned that a rejection of Onnoghen’s resignation will ‘create heat wave in Nigeria politics’.
Clarke said, “The government has knowledge of many things which you and I don’t have, so if the government decided to go and take the head of the judiciary to a tribunal, give them credit that they know what they were doing.
“What has created the situation that he (the CJN) has found himself today is the petition written by EFCC. That petition, he had a copy of it in February
“As at February, the CJN was aware of those charges labeled against him, at that stage when he got the EFCC’s petition, he should have resigned.
“The politicizing of the situation stopped Onnoghen from doing the needful at the time.
“Let me be honest with you, we should not allow the politics or the political climate to be overheated. I will advise Buhari as President of Nigeria to accept the resignation because if he does not do so, he is creating another heatwave in the politics of the country.” http://dailypost.ng/2019/04/08/cjn-will-happen-buhari-rejects-onnoghens-resignation-clarke/https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/buhari-thinks.jpg |

Rilwayne001: I don't support the execution though. Execution for drug trafficking in this age isn't good enough, what happened to life imprisonment? And do you know they form of execution that's to be carried out on them? Beheading. That's the most barbaric way to go.
We're in the 21st century for Pete's sake. There laws or not, it's barbaric. Frankly speaking, beheading looks barbaric but it's their law. There is little or nothing anyone can do about it until they decide to change it. The little we can do on our own part is enlightening on the consequences of breaking these laws .. This is not the first, second or 100th time we ll be having this kind of execution on our people. Why must it be us most of the time? |

germanized: How I wish we had such laws against looting of public funds in Nigeria... our country would be amongst top 10 most developed
Here, there are no consequences for wicked acts and the law is made for the poor. Politicians like Tinubu, Jonathan, Ganduje, Dieziani have looted the lives of some people dry in order for their own children to drive Ferrari.
Make dem no worry... Karma is a ..... I teee you.. It's the lack of capital punishments as this that's the reason for our backwardness as a nation. If the gallows had been the punishment for looters, many of our politicians wont even be politicians in the first place. |

It's hightime we joined hands to condemn all form of crimes that have given our country all kinds of bad names. Instead of condemning the execution, I expected Dabiri and every other Nigerian to condemn the act of doing drugs. They have their laws and some people have decided to break them, so let them bear the consequences. You don't expect them to bend their laws to favour us. If you support the execution like me, please gather here for a selfie https://static.boredpanda.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/manny-cat-takes-selfies-dogs-gopro-9.jpg |
