Please someone advise me. How often should I go for routine servicing of my car. I have a Peugeot 307.

I am a developing a small application with VB2010 and Access 2007 as the database but i really don't know how to connect the VB and the Access and how to save, update and delete. I need urgent help with this please.

Ikenna351: I won't be surprised if the factory Ah for the 307 is 45 Ah. Even my 505 V6 owners manual stated the battery Ah should be 45Ah.

When i got the car, the dealer bought and put 68Ah, which was too big for the small space designed to enter 45Ah. The battery died some months back and i replaced it with 62Ah instead.

My point is, the battery is only there to crank the engine or power electronics when the engine is not running. Once the engine starts running, the Alternator takes over powering the electronics that manage the engine and other car accessories. Thats why you can remove the battery while engine is still running and the engine will still be running (which is not safe for EFIs, though). Its the Alternator that even powers your A/C, not the battery. Your battery will only starts powering the engine electronics, if the charging circuit in the Alternator fails or if the Alternator belt is slippery or broken. Also, if the battery terminal heads are not well fixed, it could run down the battery.

So, its safe to use the 62Ah, which may even be safer. Because you dont know what that excess Ah from the 68Ah battery will be doing to the car electronics. The car manufacturers know why they recommend lower Ah for their cars. But we the car owners choose to do otherwise. Am a victim here too.

Thanks so much. i will check the manual to confirm. in my case the 62 Ah battery is smaller than the battery space and am even wondering if the battery will be going up and down if i climb and come down a hill.

My car battery died few days ago and i changed it but i discovered later that the old one was 68 amps while the new is 62. will it affect the car performance in anyway? i use a 307.

Ikenna351: I have been going round Abuja lately, looking for a free space where we can organize and have a "Peugeot day", for those of us in Abuja, but am yet to find one. Does anyone have a place in mind? We have only December 8th or 15th to pull this off, if we want to do this. Both days are Saturdays.

For those outside Abuja, even if we fail to do ours, you can still organize and do yours. Every town meetings and organisations meet at the end of every year to celebrate and close the year. I dont see why this should be difficult, if we are determined.

Ikenna351: Its possible that your injectors or fuel filter are clogged, from dirts that in the fuel tank when you ran the engine on reserve or nearly empty tank. Whatever that means, its an injection issue.

You can start by replacing the fuel filter. Then, get a good fuel injector cleaner. Unfortunately, we dont have Techron (Chevron product) in Nigerian markets. The best injection fuel system cleaner, so far. But you can try the Mobil or TOTAL injection system cleaner. The best usually is to clean them off the car. But how and with what? Carburetor cleaner? Don't try it.

Aside cleaning the injection system, if you can afford scanning the car ecu for error code(s), it wont be a bad idea. This is why i always advise people to try and have their own individual scanners, so that you wont have to be spending huge amount of money in scanning the car at commercial place, for every little issue with your car.

Oga Ikenna sometimes if i am depressing the brake, put the car in reverse gear, as i release the brake to start reversing my 307 makes a sound. what could be the problem?

Ikenna351: Have you done wheel balancing on the 4 wheels? That should stop the vibration, as long as none of your tyres is wombling and that your front end bushings are ok.

As for the ABS, did someone tampered with the wheel sensors, the last time you worked on any of the wheels?

Recently my car bounces especially at low speeds sometimes it feels as if I have a flat tyre. I have done wheel balancing and alignment and changed tyres yet it hasn't stopped. What else can I do?

I just noticed Senate President David Mark has been missing from official functions of late and there has been no official explanation for his absence. He was not at the Democracy Day Church service, on monday he was not at the symposium, he hasnt been at the Senate. I just hope his health isnt deteorating. Anybody has any info?
