Travel / Re: Step By Step Process For Evaluating Medical Degre For ECA Canadian Express Entry by Miemiecious: 9:25am On Sep 20, 2018
Good day.
Please I need clarification.
Is it only first degree that is evaluated for express entry processing?
What ECA would someone who is a specialized doctor in consultant gynecologist(FMCOG) do?
please educate me
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Miemiecious: 9:04am On Sep 20, 2018
Thanks for the response.
He is a specialized doctor in consultant gynecologist(FMCOG)
fmsimple:

What's the name of that higher qualification of (specialist) doctors than ordinary (MBBS/BDS) degree?
In the meantime you may want to search for ECA for physicians on this thread.

Travel / Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Miemiecious: 6:35am On Sep 12, 2018
Thanks for the explanation. I'm really grateful
A555:

You can put it all on one list. When you arrive, some more paperwork will be given to you by the customs officer and attached to your list. When you go pick up items, the customs officer will cross out or highlight only the items that have arrived, and leave other items yet to come. He will then sign and stamp at the bottom of the list saying "highlighted goods arrived on......". Future goods arriving will be highlighted or crossed out as applicable when they arrive.
Travel / Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Miemiecious: 5:00am On Sep 12, 2018
Ok.
One list is fine, it can be used multiple times. Just include all the things coming in. ----But wont the paper be useless after bringing items the first time or they do tick what one brings in to know the remaining not brought in yet?
I’m guessing u have someone to send ur load over 2wks after u leave naija abi?------yes, i do

Seniors, please I need your response and advice on this

Miemiecious:
Good day.
Pls can one have more than 1 "goods to follow" list.
Our intention is that we move our goods twice.
Ist set of goods will be at first landing when the whole family first lands
2nd set of goods will be when my spouse is coming back to canada. She will be doing a soft landing to go back & come back in less than 1 year.
Please is still possible? As anyone one such before or know anyone that has done so before to advice.
Will we present the two sets of goods to follow list and explain our intention to the custom people? Please clarify, I beg
Also, what's the procedure or process if the goods to follow will arrive after we land (like 2 weeks after landing). We want to settle in our house before we receive the goods so as not to inconvenient the friends that will be accommodating us in the first 2 weeks of arrival.
My people, pls educate me.
hanks for your usual support

Good day.
Please i need a copy or forms of "goods to follow" sheet.
Is there a limit to the weights of the goods to follow?
Are the goods likely to get to Canada before one arrives?
Any limit to material items that must be in the good?
Is the goods won't be cargoed(e.g if it will be brought by my spouse coming back after a soft landing), will it be described/declared as "goods to follow"?
When can one take them to Nigeria airport; before one's travel date or on the travel date?
Seniors pls help...for clarifications

Thanks for this input.
Pls what canada address will be written on it? I mean who will the letter be addressed to by FRSC?
I'm going to land in Alberta.
What information will be needed in the application letter?

studyexec:
If you are in Abuja or know someone there, take your application / request letter to FRSC HQ in Wuse Zone 3.
A friend submitted for me and he was able to collect within a week. Its free.

Good day all,
Pls, is it advisable to carry much USD amount to Canada.
I'm thinking that the exchange rate & all other charges that will be incurred by transferring from one's dollar account (got in Nigeria) to the new dollar account or Canada account (to be got in Canada) will be high. Cos the charges are always high when I'm transferring foreign currencies from Nigeria to friends outside Nigeria. If it is the same procedure, is it not better I carry much dollar with me from Nigeria to Canada to save myself from the huge charges?
Or is there a limit to the dollar amount to travel with?
Please, advise

Also, is there any format for the letter especially who is it to be address to? Province? ….

Any advise from seniors on this please? Is it better to book a flight through a travel agent or book by myself through Travelstart. Is it safe booking on Travelstart?

Saintp:
Hello seniors in the house, I greet you all.
Please I need some clarifications on some issues in order to make a good decision.

1. Is it better to book a flight through a travel agent or book by myself through Travelstart. Is it safe booking on Travelstart?

2. Is it possible to convert about N3m to USD at the airport on the day of departure? Ethiopian airline leaves by 1.30pm this means I have from 8am to 11am to make the transaction. I'll be entering Lagos the night before departure. What is the best way to do this?

Thank you

Pls what is the validity timeline for the DL authentication letter. I want to know when best to request for it so that it will still be valid as at when I will land or any suggestion from anyone, i intend to land in October first week.
I also need the contact of the person pls. i have sent you an e-mail.
Thank you

40manlappy:
Anyone that needs the DL authentication letter urgently from FRSC can send me a PM so that I can share a contact that I got recently. I don't think it would be appropriate to post his phone number and email address here.

Based on available information, you may just be required to arrange for courier service if you don't have someone to pick it up for you in Abuja.

IMO, that is still cheaper than paying $50 to obtain it in Ottawa, especially if you are still in Nigeria.

@Uchetobi,
Pls, i need your help.
I have a friend that lives in arlington but I intend using doctor Fagbohun in houston.
Now to fill my contact details is an issue.
It's not advisable to stay with my friend because arlington is 4hrs away from houston.
So, i will have to make a hotel reservation in houston.
how do I fill my contact details & where i intend staying columns in my DS-160 form? Will the doctor be my contact person or still my friend?
How did you go about yours?

Good Morning,
Pls i need some clarifications. Im in the process of filling my DS-160 form
1. Im applying for USA visa to give birth. I have a friend in Arlington texas but the hospital i've contacted is in Houston Texas(4hrs drive apart).
Who do you advise I use as my contact person & which location is best to put as my stay address.
Should I use my friend's contact for both or it's better i book for a hotel reservation in houston? If I book a hotel, who will be my contact person?

2. What is the best answer to tell a cosular officer if asked why I want to go & deliver at the US

3. What can make a consular officer steer at ones latter of appointment from USA doctor or hospital for a long time & say one is illegible

4. What is the chances of not being denied again after applying within 2 weeks of being denied the first time

Expecting your response pls

Hi,
This is the first time we are to travel as a family.
Thanks for your advise.
But what other change do you think I can make, Should i change the hospital? Location of the hospital or it should be in thesame area or I request the hospital to change the doctor?

ozycy:
. Adding to wat segbas asked, - -- have you travelled together with your hubby and baby? OR - is this the first time u ll be leaving the country as a family? I had similar experience wen I applied with my whole family even dou most of us had virgin passport and was denied. I later applied wt my mum and was given. So I suggest u apply alone first. Cos if u apply soon without much change in circumstances, u may be denied again cos the VO will most likely ask u what have changed since your last application.
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Miemiecious: 1:40am On Feb 01, 2015
Thanks segbas.
The doctor's name is Noelle niemand of Matlock Obgyn, Arlignton
The only thing I could present was my appointment letter: It was even my friend that got it for me cos the lady that U normally spoke to me from the hospital whenever I call says that she does not have access to e-mail facilities; only via fax which I too do not have access to. So, my friend overthere used her fax number to get the appointment letter with medical bills & scanned it to me. I wasnt able to communicate to thee doctor.
I have enough funds, the officer didnt even ask how much I had, my account statement.....
We were to stay with a family friend, hotel wasnt booked for

segbas:
@Miemiecious:
Sorry for your denial:

Which doctor are you using and the hospital,
Did you include all your email/fax conversations with the doctor's appointment you gave to the VO
Did you enough fund in your account?
Did you book for hotel or you want to stayed with relation?

Please respond to these so that people will know how to tackle this issue before your next appointment.

Hello everyone.
I got my visa 2days ago. All the information I used( and I mean ALL) was obtained from this thread.
I'm grateful to all who have contributed in no small measure to this thread. You guys are fulfilling dreams and changing lives!
Indeed honesty is the best policy.
My steadfast daily visit to this thread since August 2013 plus having 2 jotters full of info has finally paid off. I remember the days/reign of uchetobi, thababe, jyde2014 etc around this time last year, and used to fantasize when my dreams will turn to plans and then to reality.
Please a quick question( can't find the page where someone posted all the airline policies/restrictions regarding preggies. Can someone please help with that?
Also please has anyone used Lufthansa to Houston? How was the experience?
Thanks once again, and may God bless everyone richly.

Congrats Forevermine,
Pls can you share our experience. I went for interview few days ago but denied without giving any reason, the only thing I was asked was a proof of doctor's communication in the USA & i presented my appointment letter which he steered at for sometime & he said I wasnt eligible. I have re-applied & having my interview soonest.
Pls what questions were you asked & what were your responses?
Were you asked why you want to deliver at the US?
What was your response?
Thanks in anticipation for your responses
