woodcook: It saddens me when I see how people cheer politicians for doing a job they were elected and paid to do.
On a serious note with all the money being spent on environmental agencies, tax payers are still required to clean their street and we find nothing wrong with it.
To be honest it is time we started asking our governors and local government chairmen questions. How can you pay people that work in environmental agencies every month and also allot money to same ministries, you still come back to the tax payers; stop them from going about their businesses and subject them to clean the same streets that are the responsibility of the government.
When will be wake up and do the right thing? it painsme when my fellow voters don't even know what environmental agencies job is |

bejeiodus: Dangote needs to write a book on how to run a successful business in a difficult climate like Nigeria. His success story is phenomenal. I wonder if he has thought of mentoring young minds like Elumelu does. He owes us, the youths, a peep into how his mind works.
By the way, Joseph Makoju is a brilliant engineer. I wonder why he failed to sparkle when he was the minister of power. brilliant engineer terrible politician |

Ajibel: Have you ever handled any elective or selective position before? Even if you have, I have too and I'll lead better than you even though I'll be more aggressive than Ambode.
I realised most of we Nigerians that criticise the govt's policies on a daily basis wont do better because if I am to engage you on the act and policies of governance, you'll fall short like you have done on this page. if you're defending private project that public servants are using for propaganda then yes you will be much better placed to lead whoever is gullible enough to elect you... into a ditch I am not most Nigerians if I say you should start the engagement I can bet that na insult go follow.you go run last |

Validated: They can NEVER accept it because they do not want to work. Nigerians are so lazy. We want to compare ourselves with China, Signapore, India and Malaysia but forget that these people are very industrious.
You can imagine a nation with over 20 million able bodied men selling gworo, gala, doing Agbero work, militancy, omonile etc or even Almajiris. The ones that studied Agriculture for instance want to work as bank tellers, while Engineering graduates are looking for salesmanship work. It is only in Nigeria that everybody with a degree is a teacher or operating mushroom study centres or Pastors. We all envy developed and fast developing nations but fold our hands and expect goodies to fall from heaven. Unfortunately, our politicians are even worse.
Nigeria has a long way to go!! your fada has produced a worthy successor. You have not shamed him.may you live long and hopefully become one of our leaders. See you at the top or middle, wherever we see space to show by example that we can be better |
Politics › Re: Is This Really Nigeria's Defence Formation? How Balanced by mikolo80: 4:16am On Jun 25, 2016 |
eksammy: Here are all the Defence Units and Ministries all headed by Northerners alone.
1. IG of Police -North 2. DG of DSS -North 3. Chief Army Staff -North 4. NSA -North 5. Immigration -North 6. Civil Defense -North 7. Defense Minister -North 8. Prisons -North 9. Customs -North 10. Interior Minister -North 11. Chief of Air staff -North 12. Chief of Defence staff -North.
The implication of this; simply put, is that no other ethnic group except Northerners will sit in any Security Meeting and whatever approach they adopt in dealing with the South, there will be no dissenting opinion.
Is this right? Is this balanced? what about the directors, Goc, aoc, FOC, battalion commanders, brigade commanders. Just more northerners to probe during next administration |

Ajibel: Those hq's you've seen are the structures coming up. Do you expect such massive structures to be completed within a year?
Are you aware that one of the towers out of the 5 Eko Pearl tower has been sold out? http://www.estateintel.com/residential-tower-on-eko-atlantic-already-sold-out/
And the second of the tower which is nearing completion is already in the market?
I also read that by the end of 2016, the first tower would be opened for commissioning and people to live in.
If you stay in Lagos, find time to visit Eko atlantic city
Here is a thread on NL dedicated to it https://www.nairaland.com/2336794/eko-atlantic-city-update-business Go through the last two pages or all if you've got the time. they haven't finished eko Atlantic they are mentioning smart city. They couldn't even run brt right. Anyway I get it. You've not seen real development so all this distraction is impressing you. I still await thr day the govt will have sense to lift the benefits of monopoly off him and make the market perfectly elastic so that other businessmen can compete fairly.

engrhorla: It is an understatement if we say electricity plays some role in our daily activities.
Our homes are filled with gadgets that become empty boxes without power.
Our phones, laptops, freezers, microwave oven, washinh machines, home theatres, name them
All these items are supposed to make our lives comfortable and decent
How about the offices? A lot of organisations are groaning under the burden of buying diesel daily in order to operate.
From my experience, I can authoritatively say that from Abuja to Enugu to PortHarcourt to Lagos and Ibadan, electric power is as epileptic as the trafficating light of a car
This is why I want you great nairalanders to shed more light on this
Have you been having steady light in your domain? Are you not like me who is burning more than 5k a week on generator?
Then Is steady power a mirage in Nigeria? Is there no solution to this power problem?
So people, over to you..as you have seen, share your experience as regards power AND also your thoughts about a solution to this highly important power issue. solar to the rescue Just like GSM Decentralised Wireless |

kcnwaigbo: For the ignorant zombies I read jubilating about Fayose's current travails with the EFCC and the presidency. Some of them were obviously boasting in the zenith bank thread that he will soon be impeached.
As long as the 24 or so members of the ekiti state house of assembly are behind fayose, there is nothing the presidency or the EFCC will be able to do to him at least until 2018 when his tenure elapses!! The EFCC does not have the powers to impeach or prosecute any Governor. The only authority vested with oversight over the governors are the state assemblies well see how behind him they will be when efcc look into their finances Don't throw stones from glass house |
