[b]Gov. Amosun came, he listened to the yearnings of the downtrodden and in June, 2011, less than one month in office, his government took the schools back. He saved public schools and his people jubilated. Many entreaties were made to him by the the disgruntled Shylocks to allow them continue exploiting the people, he never caved-in. larion: Excellent!
This is wat I want to see, this is what I want to hear. Nigeria can't feed Africa, talkless of the world. Why can't we just focus on feeding Africa. I mean, everybody in Nigeria, govt, private and individual.....funny enough, Nigerians are copy cat, once it can work for one person, everybody will follow.
We have the land, we have the labour (people), we have the entrepreneurs.... Only thing we need is to get irrigation and storage right. This is why I maintain that this government is not serious they still talking and looking at oil....jokers!
I maintain, it is very easy, very very easy! Only seriousness is needed, let the government get d land, form partnership with experts in Asia.
The goal is to employ, with this Nigerians can be given 3 months renewable contracts. Different operations on the farm, you can start with d lowest pay of 30k monthly, its gonna be like a camp, provide temporary housing and feeding close to the farm....zero accommodation.
With this 30k (for unskilled workers), many youths will troop into sign their first 3 months contract cos they know the won't spend much during the 3 months as accommodation and feed has been taken care of.
Now you also have skilled workers, who will definitely earn more, temporary and permanent workers.
Gbam! All the proceeds goes to the govt or the cooperation involved. This proceeds can all be exported, buyers abroad can have more trust because they have dealing with govt or cooperations, now this proceeds can sell fast and the money reinvested.
Anything and everything that can grow should be planted. We have just 160m people in Nigeria and there are over 6billion in the world, we can't meet the supply. This simply means we can all be employed, I mean everybody in Nigeria including Tinubu and GEJ. No question of it can't go round like our bank and oil jobs.
Federal govt, state govt, local govt....cooperations , everybody should be involved in this, a jobless youth can sign 3 months contract with Enugu state govt, after working the 3 months, he or she moves to kano and sign another 3 months and work. Even if she's a computer science graduate, she can manage this for some time before getting her computer job.
While this is on going, the pressure can be relieved, government can focus on other areas like power, education, health and manufacturing. We'll come back from the farm and notice our power has increased from 4hrs to 12hrs, we'll go to the hospital and realised our health care has improved, all while we were busy
This is very easy, the govt just needs to be responsible. With this, even PDP will not have time for opposition cos they gonna be busy, and Nigerians can copy, once it works, it becomes a fever. We need to wake up! We need to and honestly it has to start from the government! I agree with everything but do we need Brian ''experts ''.na rice o not rocket science |

priceaction: Exactly, we can't produce all here but we should be able to produce the one that will not let us depend totally on the northerners. Buying just 3 pieces of tomatoes for just around 500 naira is not acceptable to me here. The problem ,I think is there is diminish in interest in farming here compare to up there. In my secondary school back then, we did lots of crop productions: maize, corns and beans, even veggies like okro and spinach. It was competition then and the excesses was sold in the market. But I don't think that happens again. Those are where the shortfalls come in. so long as there is shortfall prices will rise. they have more land which is also suited to certain crops. it is disease that caused this shortage, not their fault. just like swine flu, avian flu and caused shortage in south. |

A year have passed this morning. 1] Not a kilometer of road was constructed, 2] Not a watt of Electricity generated, 3] Not a Ward was added to any Hospital in Nigeria. 4] Not a job space was created, excepted the CBN job he shared with his cronies. 5] Not a grain of Corn or tomatoes seed was Provided to our farmers. [Fertilizer subsidy taken away and handed back to ex-military men], 6] 41 foreign companies mostly in service industry left the country. 7] 4.3 Million jobs lost in 10months - National Bureau of Statistics. 8] Food scarcity last experienced in Nigeria between 1983 to 1985 returned back to the country. 9] War on Corruption turned to war against his perceived enemies, any conviction by EFCC are cases meticulously started by previous govt(s). Buhari only win cases on pages of Newspapers. 10] Nigeria dropped from No.1 Investment destination in Africa to No.27 before South Sudan. 11] African Biggest economy shrink from a GDP of about 7% to -0.36%, the fastest decline in the world since record begins. 12] No.3 fastest growing economy in the world to No.83 in 365days. 13] WAR ON TERROR. The last 3 LGAs under Boko Haram in Feb 2015, Abadam, Kala-Balge and Gwoza where all recovered before the general election and Buhari's ill-advised policy of banning Road blocks lead to Boko haram recovering more LGAs and have the potency to attack. Buhari have all on his hand to succeed, but the extravagant President squandered all the funds, goodwill, and only delivered hardship to Nigerians in his first #365days. As the Biblical prodigal son, Buhari #Wasted all the Ntrillion handed over to him. Now, I have another option to stay in America illegally, until I secure complete papers for stay(which will take time) I'll be staying with a family member, going to school and working.......general hustling till I get a green card.
Please, what do you guys suggest?

While we were growing up, my dad had and managed hundreds of hectares of land for farming. This comprises in thousands of trees, cocoa, palm trees, pinneaples, kolanuts, coffees, maize, corns, thousands of orange stands that we used to buy its grafting plant from kwara then and many other valuable veggies. He sold them in big money and shared them within the extended family. Even our own palm oil factory was big, employed several people. This is how many familes operate in Ekiti then. I dont know of now. Now nigerians are crying of hunger and lack of food, but he cant see the opportunity. Who used to buy fulani tomato before? while we have our own specie better than theirs?. How tomato scarce for north, problem of south west, baffles me? Northerner making money from thin air? and you want to tell me our governor and politicians can survive without oil? Very shameful. I heard that there are some farmers in ondo villages made cool money in tomato bussiness last month. These are the crops that are short and long term , money generating bussiness that can empower our people and youths easily. The land is there. The weather is suppotive. This can yield millions of dollars yearly if it is well structured. It is saddening that he lacks this. He should go and learn from obiano and probably ambo. Thats why i dont want to blame all these NDA forcing every governor to generate their own resouces, BUT will these veil , lazy govnrs have mental capability to do that? Iam ashamed of my state. north has comparative advantage of tomatoes. vegetable prefer well drained soil. tomato can yield 10 15 tones in south and 25 to 40 tones in north. that some ppl made money does not mean we can produce all our tomato requirements efficiently. same way we have advantage in root cross poultry and fisheries |

The difference we failed to prepare for the years of drought when we hard surplus in terms of our crude selling at $145.same is happening in Venezuela. Angola saved a total of $120bn,algeria$155bn. jamace: Things are supposed to be cheaper now then because there is no much money, meaning no much demand for goods (based on your demand and supply stance).
I tell you the truth bro, Buhari economic politicies caused the skyrocketting of prices. Reasons are: 1. You dont just close borders without producing your own items. With Nigeria not producing anything, Buhari closed the borders and this encouraged smuggling. Buhari was supposed to ensure that Nigeria has started producing her own items, at least to a reasonable level, before closing borders. Buhari closed borders in EXPECTATION that we shall start producing hence the skyrocketing of goods. 2. Buhari denied flow of forex for importers which led to importers buying forex from blackmarket to import goods. What do you expect when forex is sourced at higher prices to import goods? Higher cost of items, of course.
APC and indeed Buhari should be practical instead of doing things in EXPECTATION. nobody trusts govt to implement. borders need to be closed so ppl know govt is serious this time and will spur local production. is it painful,of course it is but you know our ppl will not do anything until dia eye red. they believe in postponement. and demand has nothing to do with money when it is about survival food. food is. very inelastic. same amount of food will be demanded daily whether there is money or not. it is luxury items that we may not demand so much. but hope ppl go back to farm and factories (at least the ones that don't need nepa to survive) small scale or with independent power plants like dangote nothing to be done about forex until we get our exports right and reduce imports (tough nut to crack but we have to start somewhere. )personally I hope fashola privatises nepa transmission and unleashes the manufacturing potential of Nigeria |
