Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Why 'Carrying Placards In Search Of Jobs' Is Wrong by mikolo80: 5:35pm On May 29, 2016 |
izken: There are few cases of job seekers carrying placards lately at strategic spots and this has hit the media. A lady has even met with the vice president for doing this. Is this right? A few points would argue it.
1. Carrying placards in search for jobs undermines the progress made in job application process which has gone online and is quite efficient.
only scammers [health alliance dem ]put job online now. real companies are few and far between
2. Jobs given could be regarded as out of pity and unprofessional as it might have been created to help the placarder otherwise it would be advertised.
no serious company will hire or of pity
3.Giving placarders jobs discredits the effort of hundreds of thousand of Nigerian graduates who have looked beyond the employment situation to be self employed and entrepreneurs.
everyone cannot be self employed or at least destined to
4. Even if jobs given were advertised, there would be so many applicants who have taken out time to write application letters and applied through prescribed means. Why give it to someone who did not even search? you think writing placard is easy? all na application letter not to mention the humbility required to stand in the middle of the road beating it for all to see.shows determination. real go getting that others- clearly lacked
5. Considering the present employment situation in the country, young unemployed graduates could go on the streets with placards in search of jobs. They soon will form a body and cause unrest if left to go on unchecked.
says who. I think somebody is bad belleing. you don't want competition from ppl who are more humble than you. I understand. it's better that storm the streets with their placards so that leaders will realise that there is fire on the montane
What is the way out?
-The government of the day should regret the situation the labour market is in today.
-The government of the day should declare a state of emergency on employment and create jobs for graduates.
-When jobs are given through this means of carrying placards, it should be kept off the media so as not to encourage others to do the same. who is this govt. it's it not you and me. Abi no be we vote them. and who will make this,''govt''do anything. these ones only interested in car and furniture allowance |

Bari22: I still wonder why some people call jonathan their Hero despite the facts implicating him as the worst and corrupt president ever in the history of Nigeria. If we can stop religious sentiment, tribalism and support Buhari's government i'm sure what will be recovered from jonathan and his allies will be more than enough to overcome the current challenges. Nigerians be wiser please. see I would love to see all these people breaking rocks but the smartest thing to do is give them amnesty in return for investing the money in Nigeria instead of abroad otherwise that money can never be recovered.at least not through judicial means. In fact even North Korea or the Mafia cannot recover that money without having a war on their hands, cos corruption will definitely fight back and they have over resources to do it from exile |

bigboss80s: I thought PUNCH was a pro-APC media outfit. It's beginning to seem like APC was really unprepared for power. The plummeting oil price does not help their case. I dont envy Buhari i'm sure he doesn't envy himself. The president has now seen that Nigeria is not as easy to run as he thought when he was criticising Jonathan.
Buhari needs to first accept responsibility and stop blaming past administrations. We elected him to fix their mistakes.
Next, he must put together a competent, credible economic team that would be respected. Unfortunately this present minister of finance has been reduced to a paymaster when she should be letting us all know the economic direction of the country under this administration.
The government is too focused on corruption that it has forgotten that it's main job is to cater for the citizens. Unfortunately even though the war on corruption has received so much media attention, we have seen few, if any, convictions.
To run a country you don't have to be the best at everything. You just need to have the best people in your team. Buhari's much anticipated team ended up being a compensation party for allies and friends. how do you cater when your ministers think it's business as usual and are looting anyhow. you cannot fetch water inside basket with fork.that's why kwarrupshin fighting is paramount. and since he cannot bite the finger that fed him he has to bite pdp so the fear of being bitten in return if they ever smell power again will ensure apc works hard not to lose. so when he gives orders they will be followed |

I understand, most of you ppl's hate for Igbos, but one should never subject to such a low level in other to display it..
Mynd44, it doesn't you take a second to alter Igbos comments on this board, but to such defamatory statements against Igbos is a cause for amusement to you..
I saw how you guys were planing how to silence one EasternLeopard for abuses, but non of you remembered this never-do-well op..
Let me re-assure and re-emphasize that no matter the conditions 'Nigeria' placed Igbos In this country, whether you think its self-inflicted and or well deserved of them(it doesn't matter) but as long as there is one(1) humanbeing still alive in Nigeria and waxing stronger, then the next person must be an Igbo man..
Do whatever you will, even kill yourself, it won't change the facts.. ..
Be informed!! first of nobody hates Ibo's second nobody place Ibo's In any situation. they placed themselves. they laid their be time to lay on it.and your self pity party will not help you. this is not the way to emancipate (I dunno where you're going sef, na all of us De inside dis mess that y'all put us in BTW) but from your language I can see you would rather learn the hard way. so good luck in your home training endeavours |
