"I would like to stress that the change that Nigerians want cannot be accomplished by the government at the centre alone. There will be no change in Nigeria without the involvement of the states. Unfortunately, the states are overlooked while everybody is focusing on the Federal Government, which is totally misplaced".

The post is completely nonsensical.

Where is the OP when APC and Alhaji Lie Mohammed made Nigerians to believe that the problem and solution of Nigeria rest with the President ?

Lie Mohammed during his campaign of calumny against the last administration overlooked the aspect of other tiers of government and focus only on the Federal Government. One ediot is now posting garbage with his tortoise brain asking idiotic questions.

Why I have forgiven some bubble heads who keep talking rubbish about PDP Wasting 16 years is because I know that over 90% of the youths of today had no access to News paper, CNN or any other genuine news other than the local FM and AM radio programs in the 90s. In fact, some of them didn't know the Nigeria they were living in. Ok, if you know any civil servant that was working before PDP took over, ask him/her how much directors were paid that time. Ask how much Profs. were earning. And really I want to challenge these fellows that keep saying PDP destroyed Nigeria in the past 16 year, tell me any thing that was exiting/function well before PDP came that is no longer there or destroyed. If you give me 1, I will give you 100 thing that never existed that PDP fixed/brought.

PoliticsRe: 5 Reasons Why America Is Worse Than Nigeria by mikolo80: 11:11pm On Mar 23, 2016
odumchi:
Have you always dreamt about going to America? Many Nigerians envision America as a land of gold and honey. A land where the government showers you daily with piles of cash, and a land where everything is free. Well, they are wrong. There is nothing of that sort in America, and recent studies and accounts have shown that it is actually better for you to stay in Nigeria than it is to go to America. Here are five reasons why.

1. Debt: The mirage that anything and everything is possible in America is a lie. Worst of all, to new immigrants, the amount of credit offered in America is so attractive that by the time you know it, you will be chin deep in Debt. Debt that will most likely take you the rest of your natural life, and half of your children's to pay off.

2. Stress: America is the capital of stress. With 12 hour shifts and continuos work, the labour takes a heavy toll on its people, unlike in Nigeria. In Nigeria, you are the boss. You decide when to work and for how long. There is not a widespread practice of 24hour shifts and round the clock work, making it much better for your health and etc. The Stress in America might cause diseases previousl unexperienced by the average Nigerian. Diseases such as High-blood pressure, Hyper tension, and Arthiritis.

3. Professional Devalue: America can be a welcoming place for highly educated and well-off immigrants but also a nightmare for others. It is often known as the "graveyard of occupations" meaning that one's previous education and occupation can easily be rendered worthless in America. There was a woman who was very well off in Nigeria. She was the head chef of a 5-star hotel back in Nigeria and upon her arrival in the US, her degree and occupation was declared worthelss. She was turned down by many other hotels and had to assume a job as a frycook at McDonalds. There is also another account of a Local Governor from Nigeria who held many outstanding degrees from Universities in Nigeria, but was denied a reasonable job in America. In short, their lives were restarted.

4. Prices: Things have become very expensive for Americans. Things ranging from household items to entire homes, and combined with the constant devalue of the Naira, the US can be a financial nightmare for Nigerians. An ordinary 4-bedroom, single family house in the US will cost atleast $500,000 which is N83,000,000, More than enough to errect a 10 bedroom mansion with a boys-quarters and a gate in Nigeria. A brand new jeep in the US can easily cost $40,000 which is N6.6 million, more than enough to buy TWO jeeps in Nigeria.

5. Cultural Diffusion: The thing that every Nigerian regards with utmost importnace is his/her cultural background. America is a slaughter house for African cultures. People emmigrate form Nigeria and give birth to their children in the US. As their children grow up, the parents avoid teaching them their native language, and from then on the children are at a loss. Then, their parents avoid teaching them about their culture and tradition. Lastly, with all this not given to them, their children effectively turn into AAsand are estranged form the culture sand tradition of their homeland, ultimately deciding their destiny in life.

With this in mind, Ill be glad to recieve your feedback and thoughts on this cool
bet guy d poverty in Nigeria is real. although it's only children that enjoy the wealth in Yankee

PoliticsRe: When Will Nigerians Wake Up And Ask For The Real Change? by mikolo80: 10:55pm On Mar 23, 2016
Ontarget:
Since 1999 Nigerians have been choosing their presidents. We have chosen four presidents so far whom we "think" will unchain the nation from its troubles. But inspite of this we are still complaining of the same problems we have been talking about since 1980. Why haven't we paused and asked ourselves why things have remained the same after severally choosing leaders who we expected to change the nation. When Obsananjo was in power there were complaints, then Yar'adua came in and there were still complaints, Jonathan came in and the complaints continued as well. Everybody thought Buhari will be the saviour but the complaints are still flaming up. The question I want to ask is, are we going to keep electing and complaining and electing and complaining continously till the next 100 years and nothing will still change? When are we going to get fed up and accept the truth that the system is not just working?

At this point I expect Nigerians to start thinking out of the box and realize that the system is not working for us and we should start calling for a REAL CHANGE. A lot of us were thinking there would be change because the president was changed, but that is the FAKE CHANGE. The REAL CHANGE is when we call for and achieve a total dismantling of the current system of governance which has many loop holes that breeds a dysfunctional government. Any thing short of a complete overhaul of the entire system means it is a waste of time trying to elect a "Messiah" into office. We will elect 50 messiahs in the next 100 years and we will still keep complaining of incompetency.

The only people who seem to have woken up and are thinking out of the box are those igbos agitating for Biafra. I am not saying I am in support of Biafra as a viable solution but at least these guys agitating for Biafra have realized fully well that as long as the current system of things remains in place nothing will ever change. They have given up on the incompetent system and Biafra is their own solution. Every Nigerian needs to give up on the system and stop hoping to elect any saviour president which we will never see in the next 200 years. That is the only way we have can a REAL CHANGE.
when they suffer properly. if biafra is so competent why are Ibo' leaving the east looking for work.?
PoliticsRe: 5 Simple Ways To Survive In Eastern Nigeria by mikolo80: 10:52pm On Mar 23, 2016
GeneralBiati:
This is a thread for people thinking that the east is unhabitable, religious intolerant and rough, this is a clue of how to survive here in the east without getting hurt or looking for your head (beh**ded).
The east is a place to do buisness, especially when it comes to trade, the east has the highest purchasing power in nigeria or even africa, what ever you sell you will make it,ask some northerners, they behave themselves.
They are arranged from the most important to the least important.
1-NEVER YOU SPEAK AGAINST NNAMDI KANU OR ANYTHING AGAINST BIAFRA:if you are not an igboman or rather a niger delta man and you are debating on biafra, better pause or else you will look for your head. In the east now even if you are igbo and speak against biafra, prepare to recieve the beating of you life called DELIVERANCE,as you will be termed sabo(saboteur).
As non easterners, you dare not chaa chaa, dont even air your view(if against).
2-DO NOT PRACTICE,DEFEND OR PREACH ISLAM IN THE EAST-if you check 85% of mosques in the east they are located in the barracks,if you practice it in public, people will not buy from you,you will be avoided like a plague and your market wont sell,if you defend islam here, omo you be boko(boko haramist) or a terrorist, dont even let people know you are a muslim, whenever islam is insulted, just shut up and pass or you will wonder how you died sef,if you preach it,your chapter don close.
3-YOU MUST LEARN HOW TO DO IGBO HUSTLE OR HUNGER GO HAMMER YOU: are you lazy?, are you dull?,better dont come to the east except you have a supermarket, but if not,i dont think you will even have a customer, talkmore of selling a thing, ask hausas naa, learn how to call sweet and lovely names,if its a guy some call them daddy, bros or oga,if na ladies, some them call omaricha nwa(beautiful baby),nwa(baby) baby, etc or you wont attract them, and as you are calling tell him or her that you have what he or she is looking for, even if you dnt know what they came to market to do.
4-LEARN TO ADD MONEY IN YOUR GOODS,IN NECCESSARY AND UNNECCESSARY TIMES:fuel scarsity, fuel subsidy, kerosene subsidy, naira fall, dollar rise, etc both reasonable and unreasonable times, you must add money unless you will forebear unimagineable loss and on top of it you may not get to wealth fast
5-BE CLEVER,BE SMART AND SHARP: if you are a new commer, this are the first things you must do immediately coming down from the cab, taxi, bus from the park or airport
a-hold your phones in your hand, whether nokia torch or touch screen,no one is safe
b-no bags just purse and you must hold it in your armpit,or grip it in your hand
c-do not wave or flirt with you phone in public places or you will ask yourelf,"i thought i was holding my handset now"especially for the ladies.
D-for girls,do not do too much shakara for igbo boys,or you will regret it,if you find an igbo boy as your bf,my sister you will never lack in your life
e-for boys,if you cant toast go and sleep,if you have a car you dnt have probs as long as money comes out of your pocket, except you won the heart of the girl then you dnt have problem
f-you must have the inner mind and outter mind to recognise fake, substandard, china(fake,no offense to china though)goods or you will die before your time
add yours

so basically promote mediocrity

On the contrary, I belive the Nigerian economy can only get better b'cos there is an increase in awareness amongst the youth and they are turning away from seeking employment and creating their own businesses. I have a lot of personal examples and I'm also one. This emerging group of individuals have decided to to look away from the Government and look to the population to see which of their problems they can provide a solution. Where there are problems there are opportunities, ppl pay mony to hav their problems solved. This group will eventually form a middle class that has been lacking in this country.
at least one other person gets it
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Looming Economic Doom by mikolo80: 10:22pm On Mar 23, 2016
since1914:
I just read the article about the UN report on Nigeria's rising rate of unemployment. As disheartening as it sounds, it is still a lot better than where will be in the next 6-10 years; because the unemployment figure will not be less than 50 percent by that time. This has more to with our educational system than actual lack of jobs.

About 10-15 years ago, Nigeria had very few universities besides the Federal and state universities. Getting into University was very difficult and competitive. You had to meet JAMB cut-off points to get admitted. Your WAEC result had to be in order as well or else you went for a one year remedial program. There was no NECO at that time so if you failed WAEC, you had to wait at home until you cleared your papers before you got into school. Not to even talk about the ASUU strikes that could last up to 6 months sometimes. But today all that has changed, the kids now get into university the same year they graduate from Secondary school. They now have NECO, and private universities. Even NYSC now has batch A,B & C. Average age at graduation is now hovering between 22 & 23yrs. Law schools can now churn out up to 3,000 lawyers in one calender year.

That is the scenario we have today, the Nigerian economy has too many graduates that it cannot and will never be able to absorb. For real jobs to be created, government must re-design its educational policies to also provide formal blue-collar career education for the many that want to go that path. I know people with bachelor degrees that are now doing extremely well as carpenters and have even employed other people. Why didn't we provide carpentry schools for them in the first place? Why should it take them five full years and hundreds of thousands of naira to get them a career they could have had in just 3years? With the creation of six new universities last year, government squandered an opportunity to chat a new course in manpower development.

Those universities should have being purely technical institutes with specific emphasies on training craftsmen and blue collar professionals. Most of our artisans learnt their trade from their 'mentors' who also learnt from his own 'mentor' and the chain continues like that. So this guys have never really had the opportunity to develop their expertise formally. They took all that their mentors taught them including the mistakes and falacies that came with them. That is why you have mechanics removing 'Thermostats', and carpenters doing shoddy jobs etc.

Why do you think Nigerians still fly-in foreign tradesmen like Plumbers, carpenters and P.O.P. installers etc to do their jobs? These guys had the right training and have pushed every available tool and material to their very limit in the course of work. In some countries they even take professional exams and CEU. The Federal and state Governments must re-design our educational sytem to meet the current challenges we now face, or else the unemployment figures will keep rising as well as the accompanying crime rate.
technical school boku bet everybody wan become graduate unto white collar tinz. na wen hunger gbab dem before dia eye clear con go learn hand work

When a leader is doom, his/her doings are doom as well. With bitterness in my heart, I'm force to open this thread after reading President Buhari's speech about building 250,000 houses in APC States with money made from South-South which are govern by opposition parties. Maybe is high time Mr. President is being reminded that such houses won't be built with resources made from Opposition States, especially NIGER DELTA.
that resource was explored with Nigeria's money, and is protected by Nigeria's army. so stop wailing.
