ajf: Thesupernerd I see you. I pray the God you so much believe in grant you your heart-wishes. I pray you excel in your field. When you are true with your studies at John Hopkins, I believe you can be the best doctor Nigeria and even the world as ever seen. But a war general like you will only lead his people into death. If you believe being strategic is cowardice . Bookworms. To them, everything should be black and white. Mikron Mikron my brother. Damn anybody that has a different opinion eh? See, you don't know me. You don't know the kind of love I have for this team. That love is immeasurable. I have been following this team before their silver winning performance at the African U-17 youth championship. Family or stranger, I have argued with people who didn't believe in their talent. Convincing them with stats from their glowing performances. From nairaland to reddit, I have fought people who doubt their age. Shutting them up with pictures from their U-13 camp. You are free to say whatever makes you happy. It's your right. But please, don't call me plastic. I don't like that word. Your way might be a right way but it's certainly not the only right way. There are some coaches, like Wenger, who believe the game should played in a beautiful pattern of attacking football. There are some coaches, like Mourinho, who believe there should be a balance between attacking and defending play. To coaches like this, there are days to attack and there are days to defend. There is no single right way to play football. If we all have the same opinion and the same philosophy, the world would be too boring to live in
To all the 'true fans' here. Our next game is Germany. Nothing can change that so let's forget about all this. Let's talk about how to win the game. Those German boys must to chop am Gracias Our faith on the boys is unshakable, the Germans should be scared of us not the other way round. Onto the German game we go, Thursday is by the corner, this will be d end of the road for the Germans. The land is green |

LeeCodeman: Cmon man...Germany was also not that impressive in their UEFA Championship either.
Against the strong teams, they struggled.
2-2 against Serbia
2-0 against Ukraine
Lost 5-1 against Austria, though later beat them in the return leg
1-1 against Slovakia
Laboured to beat Portugal 1-0
Nothing brilliantly impressive here. Where are the 8-1, 4-1 and 3-0 they beat the Fijis, Uzbekistans and the Hondurans?
The way they are being hyped, you would think they score nothing less than 3 goals in every match. My thoughts exactly. Thursday no far, we go treat their fvck up |

TheSuperNerd: Ok... Enough of this. Every1 always has sumtin to say... Sir Ajf... Thanks 4 d good wishes. It's true we dont knw u but it's also true u dont knw me or Sir Mikron. U made a little faux pas classifying all 'bookworms' as 'black & white' perspective-only dudes. It's true I'm a bookworm BUT I'm 'kinda unique' and I'm not d only 1...*smiles- nothing more need be said on that* EVER READ THE 48 LAWS OF POWER? U sound lyk sum1 who has... I GET UR POINT OK but I'm afraid u misunderstand me(likening me to a general who will choose a pyrrhic victory ova d lives of my lieutenants, corporals and privates..... Hahaha... U've made a big faux pas) ..... Ur suggestion to avoid a battle wit d germans CAN ONLY STAND IF NIGERIA IS A WEAK OR MERELY AVERAGE OPPONENT. Do u get it? BUT NIGERIA ISN'T WEAK, WE ARE STRONG AND FORMIDABLE... Or are we not?
P.S: When the Israelites led By Moses passed thru d wilderness on dia way to the promised land, GOD MADE THEM BATTLE KING SIHON AND KING OG ALONG THE WAY. Why didn't he avoid WAR SINCE ISRAEL JUST EMERGED 4M EGYPT AND WERE STILL LACKING IN WAR EXPERIENCE? WHY DIDNT GOD TURN 'STRATEGIC' HERE? Israel was even inferior on paper BUT THEY DIDNT CHICKEN OUT... They fought and won coz they knew who they were and that GOD WAS WITH THEM... There was a knowledge dey had dat their opponents didnt hv. Dat gave dem the confidence...
Anoda point: It's just lyk saying, 'OK FALCONS, DONT PLAY THE SWEDES, THE AMERICANS OR THE AUSTRALIANS COZ THAT'S D GRP OF DEATH. Just withdraw ur participation and WE'LL AVOID THE BASHING OF OUR LIVES' *smiles*
Sir Ajf, We can go on and on wit this but pls dont be too quick to put all bookworms or nerds/geeks in one box. WHY? Coz some of us(esp. Me) JUST CANT BE BOXED... We are boxless thus we're 'surprisingly' Dynamic... ADIOS POR SE AMIGO... *big smiles* well said bro. lexyman: @leecodeman. your analysis was good but u don't judge by none competitive matches , you added preparatory matches which were the friendlies they played , if we are to go by number of friendlies the super flying eagles has played then we will be counting up to 30goals in the last 10matches and that record will make the German look like the cheap side ,I would have preferred u base ur analysis on number of games the Germans has played in this competition goals scored , and goals conceded .also number of times we have met at this age grade completion
The German machines has has about 6 of their players on the scoring sheet in which 3 of them has registered 3 goals each in this competition and variably others have scored 2goals and 1 goal respectively .in total they have scored total of 16goals in 3matches
. Meaning they re the team with the highest number of goals. On the average they have scored 5.5 goals per match . Conceded only 2 . Average of about 0.8 goal per match . On the super flying eagles side . We have also played total number of 3 matches. With 8goals to show for it average of about 2.8 goals per match .also we have conceded the same number of goal in this competition 2goals in 3matches ,average of about 0.8 goal per. Also ,we have about 5players on the scoring sheet ,3 players with 2 goals each and others with 1 goal respectively .
We have met Germany at this age grade level 3times,German won twice and we had a win .
We are under 20 African champion and the German are under 20 Europe champion .
From this analysis it means the German has a edge over us in terms of goals scoring and past record . But I believe the super flying eagles can do wonders ,and are equal to the task by leveling their ability with the German and also surpass them with number of goals at the end of 90 mins . One thing will work for us ...#team work and ,individual brilliance will spice it up !
#Go super flying eagles @lexyman u rate this german side with the cheap goals they ve scored against cheap and weak opposition in their group so far? did they play any tough opposition? NO! so why re u rating them so highly? leecodeman just dug up their past 10 matches and the results have been depressing to say the least, these guys are over-rated, lee also made valid points here about the teams the german side fell to during their past 7 matches did not even qualify for this tourney, that should tell us something, that should not reduce the fact that they re a good side, they are good but i dont think they can cope with the firepower our boys posses. they would be beaten clean and fair come thurs. bookmark this page and quote me later, im 100% confident our boys will humble this german team. the land is green. go flying eagles, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

LeeCodeman: From my research, Germany is actually a not-too-fantastic side. Here are the results of their last 10 matches
Honduras U20 Germany U20 1 : 5
Germany U20 Uzbekistan U20 3 : 0
Germany U20 Fiji U20 8 : 1
Italy U20 Germany U20 2 : 1
Germany U20 Poland U20 1 : 2
Poland U20 Germany U20 0 : 2
Germany U20 Switzerland U21 1 : 1
Netherlands U20 Germany U20 1 : 1
Germany U20 Turkey U20 1 : 0
Germany U20 England U20 0 : 1
Let me break this down:
Prior to the World Cup, they played 7 matches and only scored 8 goals. They played against fairly good teams and scored an average of a goal per match. They lost 3 times, drew 2 times, and won 2 times. In fact, they lost against teams that didnt qualify for the World Cup.
What does that tell you? I leave you to be the judge. good one leecodeman, where re the shaky and plastic fans, this piece is for u guys, come and read what ur supposed most feared and dreaded team played in their last 10 matches! scored just 8 goals, what a laugh! they will never escape the flying eagles come thursday. i keep saying this, beating germany is very certain, no 2 ways about that. ghana here we come, prepare for us in the quarters. talents abound in naija, go flying eagles, the land is green |

joseph1013: In Akpoguma Awoniyi set to face his own
When Nigeria takes on Germany on Thursday in Christchurch it will be a superb clash of high octane football featuring the champions of Europe and Africa and yet there will be at least one defensive battle that may affect the outcome of the game.
Amazingly it will be between two Nigerians though one eats fufu and the other sauerkraut.
You see the German Captain Kevin Akpoguma is of Nigerian ancestry and will be mainly responsible for marking Taiwo Awoniyi the Nigerian danger man who single handedly flattened Hungary in their last encounter.
It will also be a battle of giants as Akpoguma is 1.92 m and Awoniyi 1.80m setting the table for a delicious aerial duel.
https://www.spox.com/de/sport/fussball/bundesliga/1305/Bilder/akpoguma-hoffenheim-514.jpg
Akpoguma (above) who plays for Hoffenheim and has been compared to Bayern’s Boateng has played for Germany at U16, U17, U18 and U19 levels before now, knows that cancelling out Awoniyi will go a long way in preventing the Flying Eagles from advancing.
Meanwhile Awoniyi (below) who once used to be beaten by his Dad for playing football, has come a long way since then. In Senegal at the African Youth Championships he was superb helping lead Nigeria to another African Crown and in turn has been compared to the late great Yekini.
https://images.supersport.com/2015/6/awoniyi-getty-300.jpg
Though he started slowly in New Zealand he has become accustomed to the colder weather and his pace and productivity has increased in each game minute by minute.
There is no doubt regardless of the outcome of the game, that the NFF will be paying particular interest to Akpoguma hoping that he may decide on shoring up the Super Eagles defense alongside the half German Balogun who picked Nigeria over Germany.
So it may very well be that Akpoguma and Awoniyi will be seeing each other again but this time on the same side.
Germany and Nigeria have met twice at the U20 level with both teams winning one game and Nigeria holding the slight edge in goals scored having scored four times as opposed to three from Germany.
SUPERSPORT.COM if this Akpoguma is a defender like the report suggests why then is he wearing 9? |

lexyman: @kannymoore , get well soon brother !
You really need to understand the Manus philosophy , he doesn't really need an holding midfielder in his style of play , sometimes he sees them as ball joggler ,all he want his a good passer , who can give beautiful passes to his team mates, one of the reason he prefers Awoniyi over others is because of his brilliant passes apart from his scoring ability . One of our midfielders that got injured would have been the best option in that role of an holding midfielder that can dictate the pace of the game ,but so unfortunate he was left out of the competition due to injury .iheanacho would have done well in that role , but now he's more or less a striker ,Sokari is our best option he needs to up his game and distribute more dangerous passes . If Manu plays iheanacho and simon , we may be attacking from the wings in our next game , and this will also help the midfielders to express themselves well when they have the opportunity . that would be Enugu rangers midfielder workhaholic nwobodo. very good on the ball |

joseph1013: Moses Simon: Time to shine with Flying Eagles coming
https://africanfootball.com/bp_images/2015/06/Samm_5_June_2.jpg
Belgian league champion with KAA Gent this past season, left-sided forward Moses Simon said he is confident he will get his chance with the Flying Eagles at the U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
His late arrival in training camp has meant he has yet to feature in the group games against Brazil and North Korea.
The full interview –
QUESTION: How have you settled down in New Zealand with the Flying Eagles?
Moses Simon: It has been great. I have settled down and trying to adapt to the team, their pace and their style of football. I’m getting there.
Many fans are asking why you are yet to play your first match at the U20 World Cup. Why has it been so?
The fans will always have their opinions and no player wishes to sit on the bench.
So, are you disturbed you have been on the bench?
No, I am not.
So, you are waiting for your time to come.
As long as the team are winning, I will be okay.
This is your second U20 World Cup as you also featured at the 2013 edition in Turkey. How do the two teams compare?
The 2013 team in Turkey were a more matured team. For the present team, there are so many young players.
How far can this present Flying Eagles go in New Zealand?
First of all, we have to win against Hungary. The Hungarians have good tactics but if we could dominate the midfield and keep possession, we will get a good result.
Probably this would be the game you will take your bow at some point.
The coach will be the one to decide that. I am ready because I’m not here to sit on the bench. When I am played, I am ready to play.
You have watched the Flying Eagles first two games against Brazil and North Korea. What are your impressions so far?
We gave away too many balls in the first game even when Brazil were not defending. But in the second game (vs Korea), we possessed the ball, we did not lose many balls, and that was why we dominated the Koreans.
Of this young, but talented team, is there any particular player who has caught your eye?
Godwin Saviour. I heard a little about him before I met him. But in training, he showed he is a good player, but because of his age, I thought maybe the coach will only keep him on the bench. He was on the bench for most of the first game, but in the second half against Korea, he proved many wrong. I am very happy for him.
He is an aggressive forward. He is a kind of player who will succeed in Europe because he is hungry and he scores goals.
For this World Cup, which team have most impressed you?
Ghana have been impressive, it is like they have been together for a long time. They keep possession of the ball very well, they are matured and they play as a team. They can go very far in this tournament. yeah u re right bro, Godwin Savior will be the breakaway star of this team, i love his runs, ability to shield the ball, his crosses, his dribbles and tackles, this team is just too full of raw talents. naija is blessed. the land is green |

He needs to set his priority right or else he gets bitten down. This is a case of putting the cart before the horse..

u can quote me if u wish. ds a prove Strengths and style On the surface, coach An Ye Gun's charges are a typical Korea DPR side, playing with trademark fighting spirit and soaking up pressure before hitting teams on the break. They employed a conservative game plan in the lead-up to the semi-finals, struggling to live up to their potential before sealing qualification with a penalty-shootout victory against Japan. But with the qualifying mission complete and with the players physically recovered from their travel fatigue, they emerged a different side against Uzbekistan, dominating the semi-final from start to finish as they ran out 5-0 winners. very good piece, i hope the plastic fans are reading this? kudos to u @peterd |
