It is absurd that a governor will be disqualified due to the irregularities of his credentials submitted for screening .

To make matters worse is when the sitting governor says he won’t contest the disqualification process .

I mean anyone here that has passed through the 4 walls of a university and genuinely graduated would only laugh at such ,Knowing that any unsubstantial claim in that light is an avenue to nail the coffin on his political enemy.

However the scenario in place where the incumbent has verbally stated albeit not to challenge such heinous allegation by his own party men only brings to bare that they have within their possession evidence to back such claim .

It is not really true, and an example from our relatively recent political history is about to bear me witness.

His name is Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former governor of Lagos state ,and national leader of APC. He was the governor of Lagos and was going for reelection in 2003 when the epitome of political brigandage in the party called PDP held power in Nigeria.

Obasanjo's PDP including a supposed umpire were obviously biased in favour of the PDP against the opposition parties. And Lagos was the awesomely beautiful bride PDP had wanted to rape willy nilly. It is a long story of how Obasanjo encouraged a war against democracy in 2003 that swept away the AD governors who had had an unwritten gentleman's agreement with OBJ only for the old fox to renege and deny it - a trait his political son, Ebele Jonathan would display to his (OBJ) utter chagrin about a decade later.

So drunk was PDP in its obsession of taking Lagos at all cost that special budget,rigging strategies and other resources were made available for the political hawks in Lagos. Unperturbed, Tinubu was busy taking care of the people for the political deity understood that politics and governance means the people while the PDP marauders saw the two as conduit pipes to loot our national treasury.

When election came ,the political general unleashed the people against the military general and his soldiers of riggers and were defeated despite the huge federal might's arsenal of resources to take Lagos from Tinubu. Asiwaju was able to survive because he had worked for the people ,and they testified with their votes for Tinubu's reelection.

So if Obaseki is popular with the people,let him submit himself to the best Democratic examination- the direct primary.

worked for which people ... Atiku was in charge of sweeping the south west for the PDP then , which he perfected smoothly and only spared out Lagos due to his long term alliance and friendship with Tinubu which still lingers beyond politics till today .

Nigeria is heading towards a recession. Infact i would say that we are already in one-just that Uncle Covid-1.9 is trying to take the shine of the recession and this is a double whammy for us.

From your original post and responses it appears that you still need to bit of exposure with regard to financial literacy. Yes, you have 11m which is and is not alot of money in Nigeria today-depending on the context. However, you are not wealthy because you are yet to discover how to make your money work for you.

My advice.....read books on wealth creation from warren buffet, napoleon hill etc....there are a few other classic books from not too popular authors that will also be insightful.


Now back to your question. Pls diversify by converting some portion of the 11m (like 30%) to USD to store value-make sure the USD is in a fixed deposit account. Make sure that your working capital is still intact and create a little buffer zone of cash around it so you can continue to do your business unhindered. It will be painful to have your savings tied down in iliquid assets when there is opportunity to use same for business.

In this period, cash is king because when recession hits full blown people with cash are the first to benefit because there will be alot of investmets (including houses) that will be on offer at ridiculous prices.

I personally wont advise you to build at this point
because the opportunity cost and economic profit of building will be negative considering the amount you have.

Lol, na you suppose ask your economics teacher for refund. A car in a time of a pandemic like this is not a luxury but a necessity. And no matter how hard the lockdown gets, people will gradually need to cover more distances to get basic needs like food, drinks and medicines. Because in a short while, all your local shops, retailers, restaurants, markets will run out of stock and you will need to go longer distances to get food and supplies. Do you know you have a greater chance getting the virus taking a public bus or taxi, than when you're driving your own car? And your reasoning is very dull to think people will sell their cars off at a critical time like this. What a joke. People are hoarding food, face masks, sanitizers, PPE's and then you miraculously think it is cars that will be sold off like pure water? So you think in the midst of this pandemic doctors and nurses will prefer to be going around their duty in public transport? Or people will love to queue to take BRT buses, when one infected asymptomatic person is all it takes to infect everyone else. No matter the restriction, people must still move around for supplies. If i'm driving and police stops me and i tell them i'm driving to the market to buy food, or going to the next location to get medical supplies, they will let me go, because i have the right to access food and medicine[b]. A car is one of the most valuable asset during this period.[/b]

Price of cars will rise but demand won't as people will worry more about survival than luxury.
Infact, inflation due to recession/depression will force those who have extra cars to sell off (and many auto dealers will like to offload theirs no matter the cost to reinvest elsewhere) thereby flooding the auto market which in turn will affect price (Same applies to other commodities).
Economics is not straightforward as you made it to look like but I get your gist.
Remember that tangible assets like real estate and so forth will crash. So as price rises on one side, it is affected on the other side.
