2. I watched the opening ceremony and almost all countries brought a large team, it is logic, the more team you bring, the more opportunities they have to get medals and rank on the medals table.

3. The selection shows that the team wasn't based by merit but by mere availability, if it was merit then the team will be represented by the best from every regions in Nigeria

So the basketball male and female teams are not selected by merit If not for them you would have had about 10 people repping Nigeria. Their coaches are foreigners and they selected the best without sentiments, and who are in the majority? IGBOS!

If you noticed most of Nigeria's participants in our Olympic team are based abroad and about 90% of the participants come from the South east of the country, some of their supporters said it is merit based.

Let's imagine it was merit based because they are from south east, so it will be expected that they win some medals for us to justify their why merit is better than quota system of which every Nigerian tribe is a beneficiary of the system.

Imagine if it was quota system, that means, only the best will be gotten from all tribes which translates to a more bigger Olympic team and a diverse team.

I hope these " merit people " wil be able to prove Nigeria wrong, because i have noticed that since 1996, we haven't gotten any medal, since those who shout merit into our ears started dominating our Olympic list roasters.
