After the insults and the name calling, the bitter truth has been told. This thread will survive, people will find their NOCs and they would move to Canada with or without the "elders, seniors, junior or layman". If you do well to go back to when this thread started from Part "0" you will find that a whole lot of people have come and gone and the journey to Canada is still on.

Soldier go, soldier come barrack remains the same.

Thanks ma.

In addition the customers that write testimonials for him should be traceable to his statement of account. He should use PDF highlighter (or just marker before scanning) to highlight their names on his bank statement and state in the LOE that these are payments from the customers who wrote on his behalf.

This bank statement and LOE should be part of his work experience documents. The proof of fund statement/bank letter or deposit advice is a separate matter. We are just using excerpts from the bank statement to proove that this was paid employment.

Sent you PM sis. Thanks.
Sthill5:
Registration of a business shouldn't take long. Mine took a week and i used a lawyer.
I can give you his contact if you want. Its faster that way in my opinion
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by mimimum: 4:15pm On Aug 23, 2018
Thank you. Can I PM you for the contact of your friend please?
Sandydav:
Then maybe its time to contact a lawyer. Dunno how long its supposed to take but my friend did mine in less than 2weeks last year, from name search to the actual registration even though the first name i picked was rejected. We know the straight and narrow part doesn't always work well in this country. Once he registers, he should go on FIRS website and input his reg number to get his TIN number and go to the bank and open an account.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by mimimum: 3:26pm On Aug 23, 2018
Hmm. Good advice. Problem with that is, if he waits for another year, his age will reduce and then he will need to get another degree to make up his CRS scores. He may not be able to afford that now. I really don't know why the registration is taking this long. He applied directly via the site.
Jennypharb1:
Recent CAC registration does not take more than 2weeks and I'm being generous with the weeks sef. A fresh business name or ltd company can be registered within a week. The next phase would be to open a company account and get VAT and other tax docs from FIRS. Why not encourage him to put his company account in order for at least a year, get valid tax docs within the year before submitting his application
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by mimimum: 2:11pm On Aug 23, 2018
Thanks a lot. They are readily available. One look at his social media accounts will show enough pix sef.
I am just worried about not having complete documentation. Do you have any info on the recent CAC registration and inability to show tax payment will be a problem? Can anyone help please?
ysteph:
Pictures of shoes he's made should be added to the LOE.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by mimimum: 2:09pm On Aug 23, 2018
Thank you. The PNP option is too not in view for now. He is quite young and I am not sure he can afford to at the moment.
Ifeoma77:
Maybe try explaining your situation in a LOE just as you've done here, get some customers to write references for him, put links to the social media pages in your LOE. If he has done any large order like a contract, it would help.
Put everything together, submit and hope for the best.
Or try PNP to boost the scores
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by mimimum: 12:33pm On Aug 23, 2018
Good day guys,

Please I need advice from everyone who can help.

My brother is about to begin his EE journey, he wants to start ECA and IELTS, but there is something that is making us put a hold on everything for now.

Since he graduated from the university, he has not been in paid employment. He underwent an informal training to learn the art of shoe-making. Since 2014 after service, he has been making shoes. He is doing quite well in his business. We looked up his NOC and it is 6343 Shoe repairers and shoemakers which falls under NOC B. It is a good match because he does everything stated there and more.
Our challenge now is putting together docs to prove this experience. He is still awaiting his company registration with CAC. He applied since but it has not been finalized yet. He doesn't have a company acct yet, payments are made into his personal savings acct. He hasn't started paying taxes, so we don't know how to provide proof in case he is asked for tax docs. No LGA levies. His social media accounts extensively show all his business activities and shoe designs, even some well known Naija celebrities post on his profiles to thank him for the shoes he makes for them. While he used to accept cash in the past for payments, most payments are made directly to his account (not sure of the narrations sha).

So, my question is, considering the fact that his CAC docs will be relatively new, can he use as an evidence or must it be as old as his claim of self employment experience?
What other docs asides payment receipts, letters from clients that have bought his shoes, his personal account statements, pictures of his business activities on his social media accts can he provide?
Claiming only his NYSC experience will not give his enough points as he has only a BSc. Even the 15 points from me won't do much with just 1 year work experience.

I need help please. Is it doable? Or should we just forget it?
cc: Glitteringstar, Newmum, mcstan18 and everyone else who can help. Thanks in anticipation.

PS: I got a ghost update on my account on Friday. Hope to get the golden mail soon cheesy

Oga/Madam, Funds have to be in your account as at when you apply for PR. Money is not easy to come by, but whatever you do, do not jeopardize your chances of getting PPR. The POF you submit with your application must be available to you both when you apply and when you land. @Tojued has given you the expo already. If you must get money from your uncle, ensure that it stays with you till PPR. ADR is a possiblity anytime. Get the stingy uncles to do a gift deed for you and beg them to leave the money for you if they can. It's better than way. I have talk finish.
advocatetruth:
Greetings e-famz. Having read through the thread, I have a few questions about POF, I might have missed it somewhere in the 500 plus pages,
1) does POF funds have to be in your account before you apply for EOI?
2) Considering the present situation of the country, I intend to sounce this funds from north south east and all over in to an account then into my main account. Mainly from two of my stingy unlcles. How long does the funds have to be in my account before it is safe to return what ever its borrowed,
3) if I am getting it all wrong, pls enlighten me mbok.

Sensible person yes but he has not addressed the OP's questions or concern. The fact is that he should have the funds available to him at the time of applying and at landing if possible. Whether he fixes the money or not, it has not taken away the fact that he or she intends to borrow the money and possibly return it before PPR. Let's be direct in our responses. Just because you don't agree with the responses others have given him or her does not mean that they are wrong. POF is not easy we agree but let's say the truth when we need to. You didn't even offer a solution to the person's dilemma but you are subbing. Ok o.

Another question please:
Don't be angry please.

I have a colleague who applied for SINP nomination earlier this year but her application was refused. The refusal mail wasn't very exact though. It said something about not having the required experience in the NOC listed for SINP. But it we don't know if it her years of experience that is the issue or NOC mismatch. Anyway, she appealed, still awaiting a response. However, she is arranging docs to apply for Nova Scotia when it opens and when I was helping her review the docs she filled, she answered 'No' to the question of if she has applied for nomination through any other province. I am trying to convince that it is wrong but she says it will jeopardize her chances if she answers 'Yes'. I need her to read responses from others just in case I am not quite right in my stance.
Thank you all.

Happy Sunday people of God.
I am trying to encourage someone to consider enrolling for a PGDE at NOUN to help boost her CRS score but when I try to use the WES Degree Equivalency Tool, I can't find PGD under the list of degrees. All I see are Bachelors and Masters. Does this mean that WES does not evaluate PGD? Also, does anyone have an idea if they evaluate degrees from NOUN?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Thanks a lot @happytbaby and @cochtrane.

I was only asking cos I am travelling to Kaduna to stay with my kid sis who is due to deliver her baby sometime this month. I might be away for a little over 2 months, so I wanted to be sure that I don't need to rush back to Lagos to do the Biometric capture within that period if our PPR comes in after July 31st.

Thanks again.

I am 105 days past my AOR. VO: Almighty London.

In reference to the mandatory Biometric capture that kicks off on July 31st, will I be required to undergo a capture with my spouse if my application exceeds July 31st or will I be exempt since my application is underway?

Thanks.

QED.

abujaniv:
Hello. We don’t normally post in this thread, but it seemed worthwhile to drop in and correct some misconceptions. We say this a lot, but it bears repeating: Birth tourism is legal in the US provided the applicant is open about their intention and pays the medical expenses in full. This means that the applicant should declare any such intention they have at the Embassy/Consulate and again at the port of entry.

If it happens that the applicant gets pregnant well after the initial visa interview, they will have the opportunity to make their intention, medical preparations and financial resources known at the POE. However, it will remain up to Customs and Border Patrol whether to allow that applicant into the country. Some are not, and they are put on the next flight home. This must be extremely uncomfortable for a heavily pregnant person, to spend 15-20 hours on a flight to America, several more hours being questioned, then another 15-20 hours on a plane home. This is what we want to avoid.

Onto some other misconceptions:
The concept of the “change of intent” letter is not valid. These e-mails are not read nor correlated with the applicant’s file. Some people who send such letters may get a form letter in response, but it is informational in nature and in no way confers permission to amend the declared purpose of travel. What matters is what you declare at the Embassy/Consulate and at the POE. After the fact e-mails do not carry any weight.

Some applicants say, “I applied for only the B2 visa to declare my medical intent.” The B1/B2 visa categories are conjoined, so applying for only one does not make any difference. Other applicants say, “I appeared at the window with a big belly,” as if this alone is enough to declare their medical intent. Again, the responsibility is on the applicant to be honest about what they plan to do in the US.

Other considerations:
Medical care is expensive in the US, and costs can escalate dramatically if there are complications.
Credibility is paramount in the US visa process. If visa officers detect any deception or obfuscation, no amount of excuses, documents or receipts will make up for the loss of credibility.

Rex0105,

This epistle is long.

My own is why are you having sleepless night over the birthing in US ?

Anyways, she can travel with d boys. Nobody will harass them or harass you if you travel alone. Plans change and its just a holiday.

Let madam do the PT before she starts worrying about being preg, don't get ahead of yourself.

And all these things people are telling you are lies.

You can apply for visa for the baby at any age. Your family can go on their vacation without you. Your wife can birth in US anytime after the holiday as long as she has the right papers from the doctors and sufficient funds.

So stop having sleepless nights except she tell you shes expecting triplets in this economy and scan shows they are all boys. In that situation, sleepless nights is allowed.

Twoods haf repent? shocked

What happened to you? I am scared. lipsrsealed

TWoods:
To an extent i would agree with you and perhaps admit i may have been quite brusque with regard to some of my responses. However... you would also admit that a lot of our problem is that we are a society that expects to be "treated with respect" even when we are obviously breaking the law. Demanding respect, without character or integrity, is nothing. Now i'll try to address a few points in your note above:

1. Lets be honest, the intent of many here is glaringly obvious. Infact the very title of the thread makes it clear. Its lying about it that is the problem. If you are planning to have a child in the US, just admit so at your interview. Often times many complain that everyone has become a CBP officer, the part everyone tends to ignore is that the lies that others tell is why genuine travellers have a harder time obtaining visas. It is UNFAIR for others to have to jump through hoops to satisfy a visa officer just because the visa officers have had to deal with prior fraudulent applicants. We all deserve to be able to walk into a US embassy and not have to face embarrassing questions, intrusive requests and demeaning interview sessions just because the previous guy chose to present himself with false documents. So yeah, while we should not "carry people's problems like gala", their actions reflect negatively on everyone else... whether you like it or not. You're going to be the next pregnant family seeking a visa, don't be surprised if they don't believe your story regardless of how genuine it is.

For example - documents are no longer required for a visa interview in Nigeria... BECAUSE of the preponderance of FAKE documents. If you were applying for a visa in the US (or change of status), documents are required (because they can be verified easily). Documents are also required in other European countries. I remember a little over 15 years ago, an invitation letter used to be good enough to guarantee a visiting visa... well thanks to Nigerians with their "gala".

No one wants to be a CBP officer, but dear Lord help others to not have to constantly suffer the indignity of being treated with suspicion just for merely holding a green passport... because of your actions.

2. Financial status - if you can't afford to have a baby in the US, kindly have him/her in Nigeria. It is not worth it.

3. Plans - well, travel to the US is not the same as traveling to Ibadan. You would expect that someone who went through the process of applying for a visa has already made plans that are consistent with what they claimed at their interview.

Bottomline, there really is not excuse for lying... at all.

Freshface:
I say write the letter. Be it change of intent or notification of intent, sha write! You really have nothing to lose. Leave all the grammar here, save the grammar for POE where u will present ur case. Infact it helped me in Chicago POE.

Whatever. Write it, we will. It don't hurt nobody kiss.
TWoods:
Notification of intent or change of intent letters are a uniquely Nigerian invention. It is not a US immigration requirement.
