Jokes Etc / Here Is The Good Side Of Rumour-mongering by minemine: 3:40pm On Oct 25, 2007
I have been asking for the views of colleagues and
friends on what rumour-mongers do that make them
miss social approval.

The answers keep on giving the same insight:

They take parboiled (half-cooked) info and sweat
around sharing it - not caring about having the
proof of the truths or lies behind the info they share.

Here is the good side of rumour-mongering.

The same efforts used to share rumours are
adaptable to share, with other people, opportunities
as information or information as opportunities.  Only
that it requires the effort for confirming the facts and
timeliness of the info.

You are an opportunity-monger rather the rumour-monger,
I suppose.

To meet other opportunity-mongers and
opportunities-seekers, please go to

www.infopportunities.com

There opportunity info are tapped or shared.

Be an OPPORTUNITY-MONGER for ever!!!

Share an opportunity with your fellow today!!!

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Want To Work At Ecowas Headquarters In Abuja? Check This Up by minemine: 4:22pm On Oct 15, 2007
My research showed that UA means UNIT OF ACCOUNT

The following clarifies it further:

As at 30 November 2006, 1 Unit of Account (currency unit of the African Development Bank which is the equivalent of the IMF Special Drawing Rights)
= 1.48004 dollar = 1.16575 Euro.

Don't forget that exchange rates are not static.
As an instance of this, by December ending last year, 1 UA = € 1.14; 1 UA = 1.50 USD.

I wish you the best.

Business / Re: Business Idea Needs Help: Summer Camp For Kids by minemine: 11:23am On Jul 13, 2007
Don't forget to add science-based 'funs' [e.g. getting a cooked egg in a bottle or lesser tasks].  This type of things teach the kids more about the basics of general science  -  especially when you clearly share the principles that make such possible.

I've once been involved in the performance of science-based 'funs' and paper crafts for children.  Quite pleasing,  but getting many kids in order demands a lot,   Your personal interest in them and in what you do with them matter as these will turn all what you may see as 'work' to 'play'.

I think your googling on relevant ideas will also be of considerable help to you.

Just organise yourself with interested team members and make up timely publicity.  Of course, you will be dazed of the outcome.

The kids will want to come next year if you meet their expectations and those of their parents; though you may not hit all expectations 100%.

I wish you your best.

Adverts / How To Start Your Own Completely Web-based Import Business In Nigeria by minemine: 7:54pm On Mar 01, 2007
Do you know that just with the use of the Internet, you can run your own import business from home?

An opportunity ebook which clearly presents to you the step-by-step guide to the insider's secrets [knowledge, skills and techniques] you need for starting, running and expanding your own home-based part-time import business in Nigeria is about to be online.

For details, click here now   >>  www.infopportunities.com

Key points:

#  No need for credit card/debit card, paypal, egold, Moneygram, wire transfer etc. to buy - you will be paying for your orders only in Naira here.  Using the accounts of relatives or friends abroad is also out of your need.

#  No paper processing with any authority except online forms to be filled.

#  You would not have dealings with DHL, EMS, UPS etc.

# No need for an office as you can run it from home, p/t or f/t.  But you must have a 24/7 functioning phone line and a dedicated email address.

#  A legitimate least capital business, of course, which you can start with below $10 (this amount is enough to test-run the business by importing something for yourself first).

#  All orders are prepaid by customers like you pay for your MTN and Glo Credit Cards.

#  An emerging, less-competitive, windows-of-profits business - as much as we have the Internet around, the business is bound to boost.

#  You can add some other international services with this business.

#  You can download the ebook as soon as it is online and pay later.

# and more.

It's fine you're already into graphic designining.

For low cost distribution of your proposed mag (whether 2pg
or more), you need to learn about commercial colour printing.

If you know about mirroring in Corel Draw, then you
are only left with how to contract your work out
with lithographists and printers. It easy doing this.

More help at hand for you on this via your email please.

Your first post is a snap-shot of the challenges I faced but which
I was able to ride upon squarely.  I wouldn't know whether my being a

39.       Masters and PhD Scholarships, Catholic Academic Exchange Service (KAAD)

The Catholic Academic Exchange Service (KAAD) is a scholarship
organization of the German Catholic Church that provides financial
and civic educational support for high potential postgraduate
scholars from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
Our priority area is scholarships for Ph.D.-studies. Ph.D.-scholars
register at a German University, although their field research can
            be conducted in Africa.

Ph.D.-scholarships are granted for up to 3,5 years (including 6
months German language training) and for all subjects.

KAAD provides support for individuals, i.e. usually scholars cannot
            be accompanied by their families.

Applications for Master-programs in Germany will be considered
primarily for candidates whose professional experience and
objectives reveal that a Masters-degree, and not a Ph.D., is the
final goal of their higher education ('terminal Master').

If someone changes his/her mind after the Master-program and wishes
to apply for a Ph.D.-scholarship, he/she must obtain an additional
three years of relevant work experience in Africa first.

Rare exceptions from this rule may be allowed for female candidates.

For available Master courses in Germany please check:
            www.daad.de/deutschland/studium/idp/04709.en.html (don't
            specify 'language').

After selecting the program(s) you should contact the course
coordinator and apply for (at least provisional) admission.
Applications at Masters level may also be considered for programs in
Ghana, Kenya, and Zimbabwe ('in-country scholarships').
Scholars who pursued Master-studies in one of these partner
countries under a KAAD scholarship are entitled to compete for a
Ph.D.-scholarship for Germany at any time after their Master's
            degree ('second scholarships').

            Eligibility

            1. Significant social and religious commitment: A clear preference
is given to catholic (or Ethiopian orthodox) applicants. The ideal
candidate should be creative, with a distinguished personal
            integrity and leadership qualities.

            2. Academic excellence: A university degree (Bachelor, Master) with
very good results (minimum: '2nd class upper' with an average grade
of B or above, 'bien', CGPA of 3.2/4.0, or equivalent results).
            3. Upper age limits for Master's level and doctorates are 32 and 35
            years, respectively.

In case you meet these eligibility criteria you may contact KAAD by
answering the following questions or send us the questionnaire.
Question number 7 refers to previous degrees. Candidates are
requested to indicate the total number of each grade in their
academic transcripts (for example: "I have a B.Sc. with 2nd class

easy.

However, people agree that it is NOT simple and easy to
find scholarhships, postgraduate research grants

A post here (Nairaland/Education) once
linked Microsoft Scholarship only to see that no African
country was eligible.  The record of views showed
how interesting the notice is still to Nairalanders.

To overcome the usual daunting or frustrating experiences,
a free e-book is coming up here to be downloaded by

sample list of scholarships, grants and interships for
which Nigerian are definitely eligible.

The e-book is in pdf format and explains how you can get

Business / Re: Can The Distribution And Sale Of Used Books And Novels Thrive In Nigeria? by minemine: 2:32pm On Sep 04, 2006
I picked up the idea of selling imported fairly used book from what I saw under the bridge in Ikeja. From experience, doing this is profitable especially when you have the opportunity
of selling at a central business place or close to higher institutions. The genre you choose will also determine how big and fast you make profits. ICT and personal development stuffs do make it well.

When I started I chose my own prices and attracted people with the banner inscription that says "Imported Books, Magazines and Tapes Selling Fast Here at Half Price". Even, the dollar labels on the books were tools I used to extra-ordinarily sell.

I added some other 'tricks' for people to buy.

My advice: Just start small.

If you are interested in getting to know how I probed to have necessary insider information of the business or in knowing where to source your books, magazines, novels and audio/video tapes in Lagos, do not hestitate to contact me.

I will also share with you some uncommon ways to sell to students on campuses.
