SolutionMee: I thought they said he's like a God in Kano... He barely scores 2.9m votes out of over 5m registered voters in Kano. Truly, Sai Baba is going back to Daura next year. He's planning to rig the election in favour of his selfish political gain but we're planning a Democratic Coup against him. After that Osun election, it is now clear that our future as a nation can only be rescued by dirty politics alone. Such that will cost the lives of some heavyweight politicians come 2019. Mark my words.
Johnnyessence: The same INEC declared Almakura as winner of Nasarawa governor with 300 votes margin when over 5000 votes were cancelled.Olee!!!!God will reward you.
WisdomFlakes: I think you may be right. May be he should have secured a court injunction stopping the rerun or simply not participated in/boycotted the rerun while insisting on having won the original one. Inec would have had no choice than to halt the exercise, and if they went ahead they would be in contempt of court making any conducted rerun exercise invalid. That might have been a missed opportunity on his part.
Court injunction cannot stop a process that has already commenced. The election is already ongoing The process must be concluded and seen to be biased before you go to court.
I'm sure if an injunction was possible, Pdp would have sought it.
nelronaldo: This is not wooing. It is appreciating them. He didn't say vote for us on Thursday. He is saying thank you for Saturday. I am sure even those living where rerun won't take place will get the card
PDP Presidential Aspirant and Former VP, Atiku Abubakar has reportedly met with Dr. Iyiola Omisore, the governorship candidate of the Social democratic Party, SDP in the ongoing Osun state Elections.
PoliticsNGR learned that Omisore has been holding meetings with both officials of the APC and PDP due to the Declaration of Saturday's Gubernatorial Election as 'Inconclusive' due to electoral malpractices in some areas. Omisore happens to have influence in those areas.
Until May, Omisore was in the PDP, but he left after it was clear the party’s power brokers had settled to hand the governorship ticket to Ademola Adeleke, brother of the late Isiaka Adele, who had himself defected to the PDP after the All Progressives Congress (APC) failed to hand him the ticket for the senatorial bye-election to replace his brother, who had died in April 2017.
PDP leaders notably Bukola Saraki, the Senate President, and Abiodun Olujimi, the Senator representing Ekiti South at the National Assembly have been visiting Omisore in Osun State in a bid to convince him to pass on his supporters to PDP, a scenario that would likely bring Omisore’s former party, and Adeleke his political adversary, to power.
A source privy to details of the meeting said; “Atiku had first of all spoken to him on the phone yesterday, but the former Vice President traveled to Osogbo this afternoon to physically meeting with him.
I won’t tell you specifically what went down at the meeting but I can generally tell you that it was all about convincing Omisore to work for the APC ahead of the rerun. Some offers have been made but we’d see how it goes.”
Pdp should let us hear word. This is the same Inec thats been conducting elections since 1999. And there has been a significant change in the credibility if elections conducted Inec 2016 that elections are now won by electorates rather than law courts. So they should let the process run its course. You can't choose to praise Inec when its outcome favours you and condemn them if it doesn't
