What is it like working there as a black person? Is there any discrimination amongst the staff? And what is the work culture like? I am a Nigerian currently working with a multinational company in China, before i left Nigeria for China 2 weeks ago i needed some information about life/work in China and some other things, i tried searching the web so as to see if i could find at least some information but it was to no avail, I only saw very few post about China on this forum.Having spent 2 weeks here in China, i've decided to open this thread and i hope it helps my fellow Nigerians who are intending to come or are already in China in many ways. Please let's come together as one for our great country and share our experiences. |

We've submitted the A1 certificate for two weeks now and even ABH says the application is approved on their end. Who knows how long before the embassy sends AM? |

Thank you very much. We didn't have a preapproval. Hopefully we get an approval mail soon megaxart: Both authorities have to give approval. Usually the embassy here approves and forwards your application to the Foreigners' Authority (Ausländerbehörde) and only after the approval of the ABH can the visa be issued. In the case of a pre-approval the foreigners' authority approves the application first but the embassy in Nigeria still has to give it's approval before the visa is issued. The thing is it's typically rare for the rejection to stem from the Nigerian embassy as long as your application was complete and you didn't raise any suspicions of fraud. |

Good afternoon everyone, please who exactly approves the visa? is it ABH or the embassy? Also if you want to check if your application has been sent to the Alien Authority in Germany you can send a mail to (zzVISABVA@bva.bund.de) with your full name and Passport number and date of birth. It worked for me MintyChoccochip: Hello house! Please has anyone that submitted A1 certificate recently received a response from the embassy. Or how long does it usually take them to respond after the submission? |

We've got verification complete mail for over a week now and stoll no request from ABH. We don't knowif it's because we submitted those things during the interview GraceIsaac09: **** Visa approval Update *****
Good day wonderful people of this forum. My FRV update is finally here and I’m sharing to give insight and hope to someone else.
27th August, 2021: Application for FRV
*2022* 5th July - Goethe A1 exam
23rd September - E-Mail confirmation of appointment.
17th October - Visa appointment & interview - all documents confirmed to be okay.
No update, no lawyer, nothing.
*2023*
19th February - My husband sent an email to BVA (Bundesverwaltungsamt) and ABH to find out application status.
22nd February - Called the Embassy and the lady I spoke with confirmed my application was in processing and my husband should get in touch with the ABH in his city.
28th February - Got a response from BVA that my application/documents were in the ABH but the current status of the application could not be confirmed. Only the location of the application was confirmed.
3rd April - My husband sent another email to ABH requesting an update.
11th April - Got a response from ABH that the application was with them, was being reviewed and to be patient.
1st May - Lawyer's verification.
12th June - “Verification completed” email received.
13th June - ABH emailed my husband to send his documents (payslips, employment certificate, employment & housing contracts, proof of payment of rent, health insurance and proof of pension insurance).
28th June - My husband submitted requested documents (via email).
30th June - ABH visa approval received via email.
9th July - Sent an email to German Embassy & ABH forwarding the visa approval email from the ABH; both of us sent separate emails to the Embassy while my husband alone sent to ABH (the email was in German). I also filled the contact form on the Embassy website. We spammed them as we were already tired of waiting at this point.😅
12th July - Approval email from Embassy requesting for my passport, travel date and travel insurance.
13th July - Submission of passport and travel insurance (got there before 7am but was told submission doesn’t start till 11; had to wait)
19th July - DHL delivered stamped passport
*Key lessons* * Prayer and patience are very important. This one is self explanatory.
* BE HONEST - both you and your spouse. E get why. Every single document I submitted and claim i made about my identity was verified - from birth, baptism, marriage, education to work. Like someone else has mentioned on this platform, “they will juxtapose your interview with the forms you submit”.
* If you’ll be needing the German A1 language certificate, try to take the exam as close to your estimated appointment date as possible (the wait time is currently about 14 months after your application date. Note that Goethe Institut closes for summer break throughout August) This tip is in case this 1 year plus wait time continues; to avoid taking the exam again as the embassy typically requests certificate not older than 1 year.
* If you’re not sure what a document is/how to fill in some information please just ask on the thread.
* Additionally, always filter information before applying it to your situation.
* Everyone’s case/situation/visa type/application officer(s) is different…using timelines shared on this platform to try to plan how much time yours will take will likely only cause you anxiety.
* Live your life. I know it’ll be hard to, but please apply yourself to your job/trade/engage in activities and hobbies and learning transferrable skills for when you finally get to Germany.
Praying for everyone else in the waiting period…may we be reading your good news soon.🙏🏾 |

Good afternoon everyone, I want to post my mom's family reunion interview transcript because reading from the experiences of others helped us prepare for ours.
Booked appointment: 21/10/2021 Appointment mail: 15/11/2022 Appointment date: 15/12/2022
We got there around 5am, immediately we were accosted by these canvassers saying we'd need to get a pass before queuing at the German embassy and they'll need to check her documents and everything. We already knew this was all a bid to make money but we were confident that our documents were complete so we let them perform the drama they wanted to.
After they realized there was no money to be made, they waved us away without the so called pass. Please remember to bring everything on the checklist and make your photocopies complete unless you want to be a money horse for those canvassers.
At the embassy we were told by the security to hang around till it was 6:30am since her appointment was by 7am. But by 6am, another security arrived and told everyone around to arrange themselves on a line and those without appointment to leave to the park. It was at this point I had to leave my mom and sister to their fate. I warned them about Oga Paulinus and was like whatever he says or shouts, remember to stay calm.
I waited till 12pm at the car park and witnessed a lot of people being taken advantage of because they were not fully prepared. When they finally came out, she told me about their experience. My sister wasn't asked any questions. Oga Paulinus of course flexed muscle a bit when she wasn't fast enough arranging the documents as he asked but she said he wasn't as bad as she expected.
The questions she was asked was similar to the questions on page 130 and she was asked about me since I wasn't a part of the interview. She was asked to bring a new affidavit of spinsterhood and a better proof of residence of her spouse and that was it. Now we await the lawyer for verification. |
