PoliticsI Regret Supporting Tinubu  in 2023 — Governor Seyi Makinde by miracle002(op): 3:50pm On Dec 23, 2025
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has said he regrets supporting President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, admitting that the decision did not produce the outcome he had hoped for.

Makinde made the disclosure on Tuesday while speaking with journalists at the Government House in Ibadan.

The Governor was one of five Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors — popularly known as the G5 — who openly worked against their party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 polls.

The group, led by then Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, opposed Atiku’s candidacy over zoning concerns, arguing that the PDP should have presented a southern presidential candidate following the eight-year tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari, a northerner.

Makinde said his decision to back Tinubu, who was then the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was based on the belief that he would act in the national interest if elected.

“I said it earlier, I’m human. I supported the current president, even though in another party at that time, because I thought we’ll do what is right for the country,” Makinde said.

He added that he believed the president would “reset the country” and bring together competent individuals from across Nigeria to address the nation’s challenges.

“But unfortunately, that is not what we’re seeing. I regret that action. Yes, I do,” the governor stated.

Citing concerns over the survival of democracy and the future of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the governor vowed that President Tinubu won’t have his support in the coming 2027 presidential election.

Makinde also disclosed the reason behind his political disagreement with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

According to him, the rift between him and Wike began after the minister told Tinubu during a meeting that he would “hold PDP” for the President ahead of the 2027 election, a statement Makinde said was made without the consent of other party stakeholders.

“I was in a meeting with the President and Wike and a few others, and Wike said to the President that I will hold PDP for you against 2027,” Makinde said. “So, we got up, and I asked Wike, did we agree to this?”

Makinde noted that while Wike is entitled to support Tinubu’s re-election bid, other members of the party also have the right to protect the PDP and oppose any move that could weaken democratic pluralism.

Christianity EtcWho Was Cain's Wife by miracle002(op): 10:01am On Dec 21, 2025
The Bible does not specifically say who Cain’s wife was. The only possible answer is that Cain’s wife was his sister or niece or great-niece, etc. The Bible does not say how old Cain was when he killed Abel (Genesis 4:cool, but they both were likely full-grown adults. Adam and Eve surely had given birth to more children than just Cain and Abel at the time Abel was killed. They definitely had many more children later (Genesis 5:4). The fact that Cain was scared for his own life after he killed Abel (Genesis 4:14) indicates that there were likely many other children and perhaps even grandchildren of Adam and Eve living at that time. Cain’s wife (Genesis 4:17) was a daughter or granddaughter of Adam and Eve.

Since Adam and Eve were the first (and only) human beings, their children would have no other choice than to intermarry. God did not forbid interfamily marriage until much later when there were enough people to make intermarriage unnecessary (Leviticus 18:6–18). The reason that incest today often results in genetic abnormalities is that, when two people of similar genetics (i.e., a brother and sister) have children together, there is a high risk of their recessive characteristics becoming dominant. When people from different families have children, it is highly unlikely that both parents will carry the same recessive traits. The human genetic code has become increasingly damaged over the centuries as genetic defects are multiplied, amplified, and passed down from generation to generation. Adam and Eve were perfectly designed by God, and their lack of genetic defects enabled them (and the first few generations of their descendants) to have a greater quality of health than we do now. When sin entered the world through Adam and Eve’s disobedience to God, it brought sickness, disease, and a compromised bloodline for all their descendants. Their children had few, if any, genetic mutations; therefore, they could intermarry safely.

TravelUS Stops Green Card, Citizenship Applications For Nigerians by miracle002(op): 10:24am On Dec 20, 2025
The United States has placed a temporary halt on Green Card and citizenship applications linked to Nigerians.

This action follows a new expansion of Washington’s immigration restrictions and affects several other countries recently added to a broader travel control policy.

The suspension targets legal immigration filings, including applications for permanent residency and naturalisation.

Many of those affected are Nigerians already living in the United States who were in the process of adjusting their status or applying to become citizens.

Under the new directive, immigration authorities have stopped processing petitions from nationals of countries covered by the latest travel restrictions.

This includes both full bans and partial entry limits, depending on the country involved.

Nigeria is among the countries facing partial restrictions. As a result, immigration-related requests tied to Nigerian nationals are now subject to the pause, creating uncertainty for families, workers, and students awaiting decisions on their applications.

Other African countries impacted by the policy include Benin, Senegal, Ghana, Gambia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Côte d’Ivoire, among others.

Some nations face complete entry bans, while others, like Nigeria, are under limited restrictions that still affect immigration processing.

The move is part of a wider immigration clampdown introduced in recent weeks. Authorities have also frozen asylum decisions and halted the processing of certain visa and immigration requests from specific nationalities.

US officials say the decision is linked to a security review of immigration systems.

According to the immigration agency, “USCIS is conducting a comprehensive review of anyone from anywhere who poses a threat to the US, including those identified in the President’s latest proclamation to restore law and order in our nation’s immigration system.”

Taken together, the latest policy changes affect a large portion of African countries and several nations in Asia and other regions. Analysts estimate that more than half of Africa is now impacted in one form or another.

The development has sparked strong reactions among Nigerians at home and abroad. Many have criticised the decision, describing it as unfair and damaging to long-standing diplomatic and people-to-people ties between Nigeria and the United States.

Concerns have also been raised about the economic and social impact of the suspension, especially for families separated by immigration delays and professionals whose careers depend on legal residency status.

Former senator, Shehu Sani, reacted to the development, describing it as “a clear signal that migrants from developing countries are no longer welcome.”

Sure, but I don't trust dangote though...

Who is a stark capitalist and monopolist. To me he is just trying to strangle the competition so as to gain the upper hand in the market. So he can control the market price to whatever he wants when the competition is no more.

So he isn't necessarily doing it because he has the interest of Nigerians at heart but to gain absolute control of the market.

Nigerians should enjoy it while it lasts and favors them though!
Let me shock you, you are not the one that said it rather it is the Spirit of God that spoke through you. You may be a Prophet but you may not know.

You just confirmed to me what God told me that morning. I don't know you, we have never met before or discussed about this issue but you are confirming exactly what God told me. You may be a prophet or have the spirit of prophecy.

Let me repeat what God told me.

Dangote is not fighting for the masses. He is fighting for his own selfish ambition of monopolizing the petroleum industry. He does not want competition at all.

He is crashing the price just to win the heart of Nigerians. If he is given the monopoly, he will show Nigerians his true color.

God told me he will fail with his inordinate ambition. Competition will continue and fuel importation will not stop.

PoliticsNNPCL Reduces Fuel Price By ₦80 by miracle002(op): 12:28pm On Dec 19, 2025
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has reduced its petrol price for the third time in December 2025.

A DAILY POST correspondent who surveyed filling stations in Abuja observed on Thursday that NNPCL has reduced the petrol price to N835 per liter, down from N915.

This means that the state-owned oil firm adjusted its fuel price by N80.

The development comes as MRS, BOVAS, and AA Rano earlier reviewed their fuel pump price to between N739 and N865 per liter in the nation’s capital.

DAILY POST reports that NNPCL and other filling stations’ price cuts come after Dangote Refinery and depot owners slashed their ex-depot price to between N699 and N800.

Recall NNPCL; other filling stations reduced fuel on December 4 and 10, 2025, respectively.

PoliticsFG Raises Alarm Over Alleged Plot To Frustrate New Tax Reforms by miracle002(op): 9:04am On Dec 19, 2025
The Federal Government has raised concern over an alleged plot to undermine the implementation of Nigeria’s newly signed tax reforms.

Authorities say deliberate misinformation and coordinated false narratives are being pushed to weaken public trust and frustrate the policy before full rollout.

The alarm was raised in Abuja during the inauguration of a Joint Committee involving the National Orientation Agency and the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms.

The event focused on aligning public communication and safeguarding the reform agenda.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Special Adviser to the President on Economic Affairs, Tope Fasua, accused unnamed individuals of actively working against the success of the tax laws.

He said the actions go beyond criticism and are targeted attempts to confuse Nigerians and stall implementation.

Fasua explained that the new tax framework was carefully designed to protect low-income earners while strengthening national revenue.

According to him, the reforms aim to rebalance the tax system in a way that supports economic stability and social fairness.

“People are trying to ensure that, maybe, if they can manage to do it, the reforms do not succeed.

“However, we must quickly say that despite this resistance, this is a pro-poor policy—a policy on recalibrating the revenues of this country that ensures the poorest Nigerians are not touched, except positively,” he said.

He added that the newly inaugurated committee has been tasked with countering false claims and clarifying public concerns.

The committee is expected to engage citizens, correct misleading narratives, and explain the real intent of the reforms in clear terms.

The development comes amid growing political debate around the tax laws. Recently, a member of the House of Representatives, Abdulsamman Dasuki, alleged that there were discrepancies between the versions of the tax bills passed by the National Assembly and those later gazetted for public use.

Following the allegation, the National Assembly acknowledged the concern and assured Nigerians that the matter would be investigated and addressed appropriately. Lawmakers maintained that legislative integrity would be upheld.

The new tax laws are scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2026. The Federal Government has described the timeline as necessary to allow proper sensitisation, alignment of agencies, and smooth transition for businesses and citizens.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu signed the tax bills into law in June 2025 as part of broader economic reforms aimed at boosting government revenue and reducing fiscal pressure.
