In a recent report by Daily Post on Tuesday July 14th, 2026, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to initiate legal action against its factional National Chairman, Nafiu Bala, over claims that he gained access to the commission’s candidate nomination portal and uploaded names ahead of the 2027 general election. The party said Bala’s allegations were false and misleading, insisting they were capable of undermining public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral process. ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, maintained that the matter had gone beyond political disagreement and should be treated as a legal issue requiring investigation. The controversy followed reports circulating on social media in which Bala allegedly claimed that his faction had secured INEC’s access code and successfully uploaded candidates to the commission’s nomination platform. INEC, however, dismissed the claim, describing it as false. The commission also clarified that Bala is not recognised as the national chairman of the ADC and therefore has no authority to act on behalf of the party in matters relating to candidate nominations. Reacting to the development, the ADC welcomed INEC’s clarification and urged the electoral body to ensure that those responsible for originating and spreading the claim are held accountable under the law. The party argued that falsely claiming access to a restricted electoral platform is a serious allegation with implications for the credibility of the electoral system. According to the ADC, allowing such claims to go unchallenged could encourage misinformation and create unnecessary doubts about the integrity of INEC’s processes. The party stressed that anyone found culpable should face appropriate legal consequences to serve as a deterrent. The dispute comes as political parties continue preparations for the 2027 general election, with internal leadership disagreements in some parties attracting public attention. The ADC maintained that only officials recognised by INEC are authorised to carry out official transactions on behalf of the party and expressed confidence that the commission would take the necessary steps in line with existing electoral laws. “Judge Not” — What Did Jesus Really Mean? Many people quote “Judge not” as if Christians must never call out sin, discern truth, or rebuke evil. But when the Bible is read in context, God does not forbid righteous judgment — He forbids hypocritical, proud, and unfair judgment. Jesus said: “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” — John 7:24 Christ was not teaching moral blindness. He was teaching discernment guided by truth, mercy, and holiness. 1. Hypocritical Judgment Is Sin Jesus warned against condemning others while ignoring our own sins. “And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?” — Matthew 7:3 (KJV) The Pharisees judged outwardly while their hearts were corrupt. God hates self-righteousness. A Christian must first examine himself before correcting others. Righteous judgment begins with humility and repentance. 2. Christians Are Commanded to Discern Good and Evil The world says: “Don’t judge anyone.” But the Bible says believers must test, discern, and expose evil. “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV) “Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” — Ephesians 5:11 (KJV) If Christians never judged between truth and error, holiness and wickedness, then false teachers, corruption, and sin would spread unchecked. God calls His people to spiritual discernment. 3. Preaching Includes Rebuking Sin Paul instructed Timothy: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” — 2 Timothy 4:2 (KJV) A preacher who never rebukes sin is not preaching the full counsel of God. Biblical rebuke is not hatred — it is love warning people of danger. A doctor who refuses to diagnose disease is not compassionate. Likewise, a church that refuses to confront sin is not loving souls faithfully. 4. Spiritual People Must Exercise Judgment Paul wrote: “But he that is spiritual judgeth all things…” — 1 Corinthians 2:15 (KJV) This does not mean believers act superior. It means mature Christians discern spiritual truth through the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. The church must judge: • false doctrine, • immoral behavior, • wolves in sheep’s clothing, • and teachings contrary to Scripture. Without judgment, truth collapses into confusion. 5. The Difference Between Righteous and Unrighteous Judgment Unrighteous Judgment • Proud • Hypocritical • Harsh • Based on appearance • Condemning without mercy Righteous Judgment • Based on Scripture • Humble • Loving • Truthful • Aimed at restoration and repentance Galatians 6:1 says: “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness…” Correction should come with meekness, not arrogance. 6. Jesus Judged Sin Openly Jesus rebuked: • the Pharisees, • hypocrisy, • false worship, • greed, • and unbelief. He called people to repentance constantly. Yet Jesus was also full of mercy toward sinners who humbled themselves. Truth and love are not enemies. Biblical judgment speaks truth while extending grace. 7. Final Judgment Belongs to God Alone Christians can discern actions and teachings, but only God sees the heart perfectly. “For the Lord seeth not as man seeth…” — 1 Samuel 16:7 (KJV) We must never play God or condemn people self-righteously. Eternal judgment belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ. Conclusion The Bible does not teach Christians to abandon judgment. It teaches believers to: • judge righteously, • walk humbly, • rebuke sin lovingly, • defend truth boldly, • and examine themselves continually. “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” — John 7:24 (KJV) The issue is not whether Christians judge. The issue is how they judge — according to flesh, pride, and hypocrisy… or according to God’s truth, holiness, and love. |
According to a report by DAILY POST on Sunday 5th July 2026, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced another reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), marking its second price cut in less than two weeks. Checks at several NNPCL filling stations on Sunday showed that petrol is now being sold at N1,150 per litre, down from the previous N1,210 per litre, representing a N60 decrease. With the latest adjustment, the state-owned oil company has reduced its petrol price by a cumulative N110 per litre since June 27, 2026, continuing a trend of downward price reviews. The development follows a recent decision by Dangote Refinery to lower its ex-depot petrol price to N1,075 per litre, its fourth such reduction in recent weeks. Other major fuel marketers have also responded to the changing market. Filling stations operated by NIPCO, AA Rano, and Ranoil have adjusted their pump prices to between N1,205 and N1,240 per litre, offering motorists some relief. The decline in fuel prices comes amid a drop in international crude oil prices, with Brent crude trading around 72 dollars per barrel and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) selling at approximately 68 dollars per barrel. Industry observers believe the continued fall in depot and retail fuel prices could encourage further competition among marketers and provide some relief to consumers grappling with high transportation and living costs. The message in this quote is not just a suggestion—it is a command pattern seen all throughout Scripture: when it comes to lust and temptation, God does not tell you to fight it… He tells you to flee. Look at the life of Joseph in Genesis 39. When temptation came through Potiphar’s wife, Joseph did not stand there trying to “rebuke” lust or reason with it. The Bible says: “And it came to pass… she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.” (Genesis 39:12, KJV) He ran. He left everything behind—even his reputation, even his garment—because he understood something many people today ignore: Some battles are won by running, not resisting in place. The Word of God confirms this again in 1 Corinthians 6:18: “Flee fornication…” Not manage it. Not negotiate with it. Not pray while staying in it. Flee it. Why? Because lust is not a small temptation—it is a consuming fire that destroys souls, homes, and destinies. Samson played with it and lost his strength. David lingered and fell into sin. But Joseph ran—and kept his integrity. Child of God, hear this clearly: Temptation will talk. It will look appealing. It will feel urgent. But sin always hides a hook behind the bait. That is why your victory is not in how strong you are— your victory is in how fast you obey God and get out. Jesus said: “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation…” (Matthew 26:41, KJV) Notice—He didn’t say “stand in it and prove your strength.” He said don’t enter it. So when that message comes… When that image appears… When that person draws you in… RUN. Run from the conversation. Run from the place. Run from the habit. Because every step away from sin is a step closer to God. Joseph ran from lust—and ended up in purpose. If you run today, you’re not losing… you’re preserving your soul. 🔥

📖 "But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord, save me!' Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him." — Matthew 14:30–31 (NIV) The greatest danger in your storm is not the wind around you—it's taking your eyes off the One who is greater than the storm. The moment Peter focused on the waves, he began to sink. The moment he cried out to Jesus, grace reached farther than fear ever could. Storms have a way of exposing what calm seasons can hide. They reveal where our confidence truly rests. Peter didn't fail because there was a storm; he failed because he allowed the storm to become bigger in his mind than the Savior standing before him. Imagine the scene. The wind is roaring. The waves are crashing. The disciples are terrified. Yet in the middle of chaos, Jesus is walking on the very thing that threatens everyone else. What frightens us is already beneath His feet. The storm that overwhelms us is under His authority. Peter did something no one else dared to do. He stepped out of the boat. While the others watched from a place of safety, Peter chose faith over comfort. Every miracle begins with a step of obedience. You will never experience what God can do until you're willing to trust Him beyond what feels safe. But faith must remain focused. "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." — 2 Corinthians 4:18. Peter was walking on the impossible as long as his eyes were fixed on Jesus. The miracle didn't end because Jesus changed—it ended because Peter's focus changed. How many times have we done the same? We begin with confidence, but then life happens. Bills pile up. The diagnosis comes. Relationships break. Prayers seem unanswered. Suddenly, our attention shifts from God's promises to our problems. Fear grows wherever faith loses its focus. Yet Peter's greatest moment was not when he walked on water. It was when he discovered that even while sinking, Jesus was still reaching. Failure never places you beyond the reach of God's grace. The same hand that called Peter out of the boat was the hand that lifted him back above the waves. The beautiful truth is that Jesus didn't stand at a distance waiting for Peter to save himself. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." — Psalm 46:1. The Savior moved immediately. Heaven does not hesitate when a heart genuinely cries out to God. Sometimes God allows storms, not to destroy us, but to deepen our dependence on Him. Calm seas can make us comfortable, but storms teach us to cling to Christ. The waves that seem determined to drown your faith may actually be preparing it to become stronger than ever before. Notice that after Jesus caught Peter, they walked back together. Peter didn't swim back. He didn't crawl back. He walked beside the One who had rescued him. Grace doesn't merely pull you out of failure—it teaches you how to keep walking. There are storms in life that no amount of human strength can overcome. But there has never been a storm that Jesus could not command. He still speaks peace into chaos. He still calms fearful hearts. He still makes a way where there seems to be none. The enemy wants you to believe that because you're struggling, God has abandoned you. The Gospel tells a different story. Your weakness is often the place where Christ reveals His greatest strength. Every storm becomes an opportunity to witness His faithfulness. The invitation of Jesus has never changed. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:5–6. Faith is not pretending the storm doesn't exist. Faith is believing that Jesus is greater than the storm. Perhaps today you feel like Peter—tired, overwhelmed, and beginning to sink beneath the weight of life's waves. Don't let pride keep you silent. Peter prayed one of the shortest prayers in Scripture: "Lord, save me!" It was enough because it was sincere. God responds to hearts that call upon Him. Today, choose to lift your eyes above the wind. The waves may still roar, but Jesus is still walking on them. His hand has never lost its strength. His promises have never lost their power. And His love has never failed a single soul that trusted Him. Keep your eyes on Christ, step forward in faith, and remember: the storm is temporary, but the Savior is eternal. |

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Monday stormed Lassa town in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, abducting students sitting the ongoing National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations and several teachers, and killing at least one teacher. The attack occurred on a busy market day, throwing the community into chaos as heavily armed insurgents, said to be dressed in military camouflage and riding motorcycles, reportedly swept through the town unchallenged. Eyewitnesses told saharareporters that the terrorists targeted the community while students were sitting their NECO examinations, whisking away an unspecified number of candidates and teachers to an unknown destination. Sources said at least one teacher was shot dead during the assault, although the exact casualty figure remains unclear as residents continue to search for missing persons. The incident has sparked outrage among residents, who alleged that troops of the Nigerian military stationed in the area had reportedly left on a patrol to nearby Uba, about 16 kilometres from Lassa, when the insurgents struck. "The soldiers were not around when the terrorists invaded. They came in large numbers, firing sporadically and causing panic everywhere. They took away students writing NECO and their teachers," an eyewitness said. Efforts by SaharaReporters to reach the spokesperson for the state police command, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, on his mobile phone for comment were unsuccessful. The latest attack underscores the worsening security situation in parts of southern Borno, where communities continue to suffer deadly raids despite repeated military offensives against insurgent groups. "If the living knew what the dead knew, then the whole world would follow Jesus Christ.” This quote speaks to a sobering biblical truth: after death, eternity is no longer theory — it is reality. The Bible teaches that every soul will stand before God, and only through Jesus Christ can a person be saved. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” — John 14:6 The rich man in hell cried out in torment after death: “And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments…” — Luke 16:23 He suddenly understood what mattered. Wealth did not matter. Pride did not matter. Sin was no longer pleasurable. Eternity became real. He even begged that someone would warn the living: “I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.” — Luke 16:27–28 That is the heart behind this quote. If those who rejected God could speak back to the world, Scripture implies they would warn people urgently to repent and believe the Gospel. The dead know now that God’s Word was true all along. The Bible says: “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” — Hebrews 9:27 But the message of the Gospel is not only about judgment — it is about mercy and salvation. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” — John 3:16 Jesus died for sinners, rose again, and offers eternal life freely to all who repent and trust Him. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” — Romans 10:9 The image is powerful because it contrasts two eternal destinies. • Heaven — the presence of God • Hell — separation and judgment Moses wrote: “I have set before you life and death… therefore choose life.” — Deuteronomy 30:19 The biblical call is urgent because life is short: “For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” — James 4:14 So the message is not merely fear — it is an invitation: Come to Christ while there is still time, because grace is available today. |
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Mr Fatai Tijani, has assured residents that a commercial area in Lagos, remains safe following a bomb explosion suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which triggered brief panic in the area. Tijani gave the assurance on Monday while addressing journalists at the scene of the incident at the Shoe Materials Market in Mushin, after security operatives conducted a comprehensive sweep of the area. According to him, the police received information about an explosion and immediately deployed Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operatives to cordon off and secure the area. “We promptly deployed our EOD team after receiving reports of an explosion. The area was cordoned off and thoroughly searched,” he said. He explained that preliminary findings indicated that the explosion was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device planted under a vehicle. Tijani said the device was placed beneath the passenger side of the vehicle and detonated when the engine was started. “The IED was under the vehicle by the passenger side. It exploded when the vehicle was started,” he stated. According to him, one person sustained injuries in the incident and was taken to a hospital for treatment. He said that the victim was in a stable condition. The commissioner added that after a detailed sweep by EOD experts, no additional explosive devices were discovered in the area. The police commissioner urged members of the public, especially residents and traders in the affected commercial area, to remain calm and resume normal activities. Tijani also stated that remnants of the explosive device had been recovered and taken for forensic examination as investigations continued. He urged residents to remain calm and disregard rumours suggesting widespread insecurity in Lagos, describing these as false and misleading. The police boss reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state, warning criminal elements to stay away from Lagos. Also speaking with journalists, the Baale of Oke Mushin Community, Mr Tajudeen Faronbi, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday while he was observing his morning prayers. “Early this morning, around one o’clock, while I was praying, I received a call that something unusual had been seen. When I got there, I saw a vehicle and people were afraid to go near it,” he said. He explained that due to the sensitivity of the situation, he immediately contacted the Area Commander and other security authorities, who quickly mobilised officers to the scene. According to him, dozens of police officers, about 35 operatives, were deployed to secure the area, while additional backup units were also drafted to ensure order and prevent residents from approaching the scene. Faronbi said the swift response helped to calm tensions and prevent what could have escalated into panic within the community. He added that security operatives later cordoned off the area and took control of the situation, moving in to assess the suspicious vehicle and safeguard residents. He noted that the vehicle’s identity and ownership remained unclear, adding that residents were unable to confirm who had parked it or its purpose. The Court of Appeal in Abuja has suspended the enforcement of a Federal High Court judgment that directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and four other political parties. In an unanimous ruling on Tuesday, a three-member panel of the appellate court led by Justice A. B. Mohammed ordered that the judgment delivered by Justice Peter Lifu remain on hold pending the hearing and determination of the appeal against the decision. The panel said Lifu’s action was “the highest form of judicial impertinence,” stressing that the Supreme Court previously held that a judge who acted in such manner “is unfit for the bench as it amounts to judicial rascality.” The appellate court held that Justice Lifu’s action amounted to an affront on the hierarchy of courts. It held that the lower court’s action was “the highest form of judicial impertinence,” stressing that the Supreme Court previously held that a judge who acted in such manner “is unfit for the bench as it amounts to judicial rascality.” “Courts are enjoined to protect their integrity. This Court has supervisory authority over the trial court. The decision of the lower court to proceed with the judgment despite the express order of this court is a brazen violation of the hierarchy of the court and the 1999 Constitution. “This court has the duty to invoke its powers in ensuring that its orders are made. “The application for stay of execution is here yet granted. The enforcement of the judgment is stayed,” the appellate court held. The move comes after INEC and the affected political parties challenged the judgment, arguing that Justice Lifu proceeded to deliver the verdict despite a subsisting May 22 order of the Court of Appeal said to have halted further proceedings in the matter. Among the parties affected by the deregistration order are the Action Peoples Party (APP), Action Alliance (AA), Accord Party (AP), and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP). Their lawyers had urged the appellate court to grant a stay of execution, warning that implementation of the judgment could disrupt by-elections scheduled to hold in six states on June 20. At Tuesday’s proceedings before a three-member panel of the appellate court, INEC’s legal team said it was surprised that Justice Lifu delivered the judgment despite an earlier order of the Court of Appeal, which, according to the commission, was meant to halt the delivery of the verdict. INEC further stated that it was not officially notified of the judgment and only became aware of the ruling through media reports. The commission told the court it was backing the notice of appeal filed by the affected political parties. “My Lords, we are aware of an order that this court made on May 22, which stopped the delivery of the judgment of the lower court, which was initially reserved for delivery on June 5. We were not aware of any notice from the court regarding the delivery of the judgment. We only saw it as breaking news in the media. We therefore do not oppose the application of the appellant to stay the execution of the judgment.” Source: https://politicsnigeria.com/2026/06/16/breaking-appeal-court-halts-execution-of-judgment-deregistering-adc-others/

The reinstated Emeka Beke-led executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has declared all candidate nominations from the party’s just-concluded primaries null and void. The nullified primaries had notably produced House of Representatives member Kingsley Chinda, a close ally of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, as the party’s governorship candidate following the withdrawal of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Several other Wike loyalists had also emerged as APC flagbearers for the 2027 National and State Assembly elections. The development follows a Friday ruling by Justice Elfreida Oluwayemisi Williams-Dawodu of the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt. The appellate court upheld a Rivers State High Court decision that nullified the congresses producing Chief Tony Okocha, Wike’s chief ally in the state, as the party’s chairman. Reacting to the judgement in a statement on Monday, Darlington Nwauju, the spokesperson for the reinstated Beke faction, declared that all decisions, nominations, and documentations made under the Okocha-led faction between December 20, 2024, and May 29, 2026, are illegal and have no effect. Nwauju argued that the Tony Okocha faction had no legal right to represent the party or conduct primaries, accusing them of trying to turn the Rivers APC into an exclusive club where founding members and key stakeholders were unfairly disqualified for frivolous reasons. “All nominations, representations, communications, documentations including decisions reached on behalf of the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress between December 20, 2024, to Friday, May 29, 2026, with the seal of the illegal executives, is illegal, null, void and of no effect,” Nwauju stated. The Beke faction has now urged the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC to immediately review and wipe out all records of the primaries conducted by the Okocha faction to avoid a repeat of the “Zamfara experience,” where the party lost its electoral victories due to invalid primaries. Additionally, the faction called on the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) to withdraw the certificates of return issued to local government chairmen and councilors from the Okocha faction who won the August 2025 local government elections, demanding they be handed over to candidates originally submitted by the legally recognized Emeka Beke executive. Osetigo. Let the defections begin. Aggrieved members and those that lost in Apc primaries will all defect to Ndc |
It seems APC has just shot itself in the foot by choosing to tread on a path that even INEC, with all its boldness, would not dare to walk. Too much of everything, they say, is bad. In the coming days, APC may have set itself up for endless litigation that could distract the party badly ahead of 2027, all because of excessive politics and unnecessary manipulation. First, APC started by selling forms to people they already knew would never be cleared to participate in the primaries. After making huge money from the exercise, they went ahead to disqualify almost one-third of those who purchased the forms, simply because they believed they lack the locus to challenge the injustice in court. But now, the real problem has emerged. For almost 48 hours, APC has refused to announce the results of the Senatorial primaries conducted across the country. Acting in line with party guidelines and its Constitution, APC had earlier constituted Electoral Committees nationwide to conduct the Senate primary elections on Monday. But shockingly, on the eve of the primaries, the party released a memo stripping those committees of the power to declare the results of the elections they were sent to conduct, unless such results were first vetted in Abuja. And I ask, how do you empower people to conduct an election, yet deny them the authority to tell contestants who won and who lost? Well, the Electoral Committees across the nation completed their assignments, yet APC has continued to withhold the results because what they are allegedly cooking up as “results” is still being perfected behind closed doors. The implication of this manipulation is dangerous for the party itself. APC may have unknowingly fallen into the trap of aggrieved aspirants and handed even weak contenders a legal window to drag the party to court. The moment those results are finally announced, even people who genuinely lost the primary elections may head straight to court, not necessarily to argue that they won, but to challenge the process used in declaring the results. Their argument will be that APC, breached both the Electoral Act, the APC Constitution, and the party’s nomination guidelines, all of which mandates that primary election results must be declared at the venue where the election was conducted, by the Electoral Committee Chairman who supervised it. Reference can easily be made to Article 20.4 of the APC Constitution and Section 9(ii)(e) of the APC nomination guidelines. And when these matters get to court, the focus may no longer be on who actually won or lost. The real issue will become whether APC followed its own rules and due process or not. Sometimes, no matter how smart a system thinks it is, it cannot fool everybody all the time. |
It's about to start. Let's keep our fingers crossed |
Let the implosion and katakata begin. Apc is going down |
