LOKOJA— Gunmen on Tuesday attacked Government Secondary School, Olowa, in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, abducting four students, the principal and a National Examinations Council, NECO, ad-hoc staff.

The attack, which occurred at about 5:25 pm while the students were writing their NECO examination, came as three newly passed-out soldiers on their way from Zaria to Zamfara State, were also abducted by terrorists who demanded N50 million.

However, both the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, and Defence Headquarters said they were not aware of the development.

On the Kogi attack, residents said the heavily armed assailants stormed the community, firing sporadically to scare people before invading the school.

A community leader, Sunday Alkali, said residents were relaxing under trees when the gunmen suddenly appeared.

“The gunmen seemed surprised to see many people outside at that time of the day and initially retreated. They later returned, shooting indiscriminately, forcing everyone to flee for safety,” he said.

According to residents, it was only after the gunfire subsided that they discovered the school had been attacked.

“We initially did not know what the gunmen were after. After the shooting stopped, some of us went to the school and found examination papers scattered across classrooms and the school premises. There were no students or school officials in sight,” another resident said.

The victims were later identified as the school principal, Mr. Nyada Daniel; the NECO exams supervisor, Mr. Solomon Audu; and four students.

Residents noted that the number of abducted students could have been higher but for the fact that only a limited number of candidates were writing Literature in English at the time, unlike core subjects such as English Language and Mathematics, which attract larger attendance.

The kidnappers were also said to have contacted some relatives of the victims on Tuesday evening, demanding ransom for their release.

“At least four families have received calls from the abductors demanding huge sums of money for the victims’ freedom,” Alkali alleged.

Following the incident, soldiers, police officers, local vigilantes and hunters were said to have been mobilised to the area to track the abductors and rescue the victims.

“Soldiers, policemen, vigilantes and hunters are combing the surrounding forests in search of the kidnappers,” a resident, who requested anonymity, said.

Army, Lokoja; 21 Battalion, Nigerian Army, Anyigba; the Nigeria Police Force; the Department of State Services, DSS; the Kogi State Vigilante Service; local hunters; and other security outfits had been deployed to the area. Advanced technology is also being deployed to support the rescue operation,’’ the government stated.

It further disclosed that preliminary findings indicated that the examination centre, located in a remote area, was allegedly being used as a “miracle centre” for external candidates

According to the statement, the two female candidates involved were not regular students of Government Secondary School, Olowa, while the examination arrangements did not conform with the security framework put in place by the state government for candidates participating in the ongoing NECO examinations.

The government, however, maintained that the circumstances surrounding the examination centre would not affect its responsibility to ensure the safety of all residents and visitors in the state.

It assured that every effort was being made to rescue the victims and apprehend those behind the abduction.

The government appealed to residents of Olowa and neighbouring communities to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that could aid the rescue efforts.

It reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, expressing confidence that the victims would be safely reunited with their families.

However, school abductions have not ended; they have intensified and spread from the North-East to the North-West and now to the South-West, President Bola Tinubu’s own geopolitical zone.

Insecurity around schools has become normalised, with children, teachers and parents living under constant fear. The recent foiling of a planned school abduction in Edo State by the DSS, working with vigilant citizens, shows that the threat is nationwide and that official protection remains inadequate.

Meanwhile, seven months after the Senate decided to probe how far the initiative has achieved the expected results, not much had been done.

The Senate Ad-hoc Committee, chaired by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, summoned key government officials, including the then Finance Minister, Wale Edun and Defence Minister Gen. Christopher Musa, after it was revealed that nearly N6. 2 billion of the 2023 budget was allocated solely to the Nigeria Police Force, while a large portion of previous funds was consumed by consultancy and other sundry issues.

Exam halls should be sanctuaries not crime scenes, Atiku

Reacting to the development, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, declared that an examination hall should be a sanctuary of hope, not a crime scene, condemning the abduction of the victims.

In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, the presidential candidate of African Democratic Congress, ADC, described the incident as further proof that the Nigerian state has abdicated its most fundamental responsibility, which is the protection of life, learning and the future of its children.

He said; “An examination hall should be a sanctuary of hope, not a crime scene. A school principal should be preparing students for the future, not negotiating with kidnappers.

‘’A NECO official should be supervising examinations, not struggling for survival in the hands of bandits. Yet this has become the grim reality under a government that has normalised insecurity.”

Atiku said the latest attack was not an isolated tragedy but part of a dangerous national pattern in which educational institutions had become preferred targets because criminals no longer feared the Nigerian state.

“It is impossible to separate this attack from the attitude this administration has displayed towards education.

‘’A government that has repeatedly made education more expensive through unprecedented increases in WAEC and NECO examination fees, neglected public schools, failed to secure learning environments and reduced education to empty campaign slogans should not be surprised that criminals now see schools as abandoned territories,” he said.

He said government policies had sent one unmistakable message, that education is no longer a national priority.

“First, they priced poor children out of classrooms. Then they fail to protect those who remain in school. This is a double assault on the future of Nigeria. One is economic exclusion; the other is violent intimidation.

‘’Together, they amount to a systematic destruction of the dreams of an entire generation,” he said.

Atiku linked the security failure to what he described as reckless federal budgeting, saying the repeated incompetence Nigerians continued to witness under the Tinubu administration was the inevitable consequence of a government that has abandoned probity, discipline and accountability in public finance.

He noted that every successful attack on a school emboldened other criminal groups, making educational institutions increasingly attractive targets because the consequences had been minimal and the response largely reactive.

“The collapse of school security is not merely a security failure; it is a collapse of governance itself. A country where children cannot safely write examinations is a country steadily surrendering its future to fear,” he said.

Atiku called for the immediate and unconditional rescue of every abducted victim and demanded a comprehensive review of security arrangements for all schools and examination centres across the federation.

Terrorists abduct 3 newly passed-out soldiers in Zamfara

Meanwhile, three newly passed-out soldiers have been ambushed and abducted by terrorists while travelling through Anka axis of Zamfara State.

The new Army personnel were said to have been abducted in Zamfara on July 2, 2026, after they were allegedly abandoned by military authorities while travelling to their destination in Kebbi State, shortly after completing their passing-out exercise at the 26 Nigerian Army (26 NA) formation in Kaduna State.

Initially, the kidnappers reportedly demanded N50 million ransom before later reducing the ransom to N5 million for each captive.

Families of the abducted soldiers stated that despite notifying military authorities about the incident, no rescue operation or official response had been communicated to them more than 13 days after the abduction.

Similarly, the Director of of Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Major General Michael Onoja, also said the DHQ was not aware of the abduction.

PoliticsThree Parties Miss INEC Deadline For Presidential Candidate Upload by miracle002(op): 11:57am On Jul 15
Three political parties are yet to upload the names of their presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the closure at 11.59pm of Tuesday, Daily Trust learnt.

A senior INEC official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to comment publicly, said the affected parties are the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction led by Nyesom Wike, and the Labour Party (LP) faction led by Nenadi Usman.

The official, however, said almost all registered political parties have successfully uploaded the names of their candidates for the 2027 general elections.

“As of now, only about three political parties are yet to upload the names of their presidential and running mate candidates. They are APGA, the PDP (Wike faction) and the LP (Nenadi faction). Virtually every other party has filed its candidates,” the official said.

PFIPC scandal, ghost of Köpenick: When weak institutions become state’s greatest threat

The commission had earlier extended the deadline for the submission of candidates after requests from some political parties, insisting that no further extension would be granted.

Political parties are expected to conclude the nomination process and upload the particulars of their candidates before the portal shuts, after which INEC will begin processing the submissions in line with the Electoral Act and its guidelines.

With the extended deadline for political parties to upload the names of their presidential and National Assembly candidates for the 2027 general election ending yesterday, indications emerged that the presidential candidates of the major opposition parties had successfully met the requirement.

As of yesterday evening, there was no indication that any of the parties’ submissions had been withdrawn, while the names of their recognised national leaderships remained on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal.

INEC had on Sunday extended the deadline for political parties to submit the names and credentials of candidates seeking to contest the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections.

The electoral body announced that parties had until midnight on Tuesday, July 14, to complete the process, extending the earlier deadline of Saturday, July 11.

INEC said the extension followed appeals from political parties, which were expected to upload the names and personal particulars of their presidential, Senate and House of Representatives candidates before the deadline.

The parties that successfully uploaded their candidates include the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is fielding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for re-election; the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which uploaded the names of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi; and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), which uploaded the names of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

INEC sources revealed that some political parties submitted only the names of their presidential candidates without running mates.

As parties uploaded candidates directly to the INEC portal, confusion persisted in some states over the identities of National Assembly candidates.

Our correspondent gathered that in Benue, Kwara and Nasarawa states, there was still uncertainty over the names that eventually made it onto the portal.

Fears over ADC candidates

There were fears that following Tuesday’s Court of Appeal judgement, the ADC’s presidential and National Assembly candidates might not be accepted by INEC.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja had affirmed an earlier judgement restraining INEC from recognising or participating in state congresses conducted by the Mark-led leadership of the party.

However, checks by our correspondent yesterday showed that the INEC portal remained unchanged, with former Senate President David Mark still listed as the party’s National Chairman.

Daily Trust confirmed that Mark is recognised as the National Chairman of the ADC, while former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, remains listed as the party’s National Secretary.

Despite the appellate court’s decision, INEC had yet to effect any change to the party’s national leadership on its official portal as of the time of filing this report.

The portal also lists Dr Mani Ibrahim Ahmad as National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary and Prof. Oserheimen Aigberadion Osunbor as the party’s National Legal Adviser.

The continued listing of Mark and members of the current National Working Committee comes as political parties race to beat the extended deadline of 11:59 p.m. on July 14, 2026, granted by INEC for the submission of candidates.

The development is likely to fuel further debate over the practical implications of Tuesday’s Court of Appeal judgement on the leadership tussle within the ADC, particularly regarding which faction would ultimately be recognised by INEC for electoral purposes.

The ADC also called for the arrest and prosecution of Nafiu Bala Gombe, a former Deputy National Chairman of the party.

The party said the call followed INEC’s dismissal of Gombe’s claim that he had obtained the commission’s access code and uploaded candidates for the 2027 general election.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said INEC’s disclaimer that the document circulated by Gombe was false and forged amounted to a criminal attempt to undermine the integrity of the commission.

The party therefore urged INEC to refer the matter to law enforcement agencies, warning that allowing such claims to go unpunished could erode public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral process.

ADC said it welcomed the commission’s prompt clarification confirming that the document circulated by Gombe, purporting to show that he had obtained INEC’s access code and uploaded candidates on behalf of the party, was forged and that the claim was entirely false.

Abdullahi had earlier announced that the party had successfully uploaded the names and particulars of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, to the INEC nomination portal.

He said the development marked another important step in the party’s preparations for the 2027 general election and its commitment to offering Nigerians a credible alternative built on competence, unity and national renewal.

NDC uploads Peter Obi

National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Henry Seriake Dickson, earlier announced that the party had been granted access to the INEC portal to upload the names of its qualified candidates for the 2027 general election.

Dickson, who disclosed this in a statement posted on his X account, said the party had filed an appeal and an application for a stay of execution against a recent court ruling affecting its status.

The National Chairman of the Nyesom Wike-backed PDP, Abdulrahman Mohammed Takushara, also announced that the party under his leadership had successfully uploaded the names of its presidential candidate, running mate and National Assembly candidates to the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal.

He said: “This is a clear demonstration of our commitment to the promise we made that, under my leadership, the PDP will fully participate in the 2027 general elections. today, we have taken another decisive step towards fulfilling that promise.”

Accord Party presidential candidate to know fate today

Our correspondent reports that the suit instituted against the Accord Party and INEC came up yesterday but was adjourned until today after the defendants served fresh court processes on Olawepo Gbenga-Hashim’s legal team shortly before proceedings commenced.

At the heart of the dispute is Gbenga Hashim’s claim that he lawfully emerged as the sole aspirant and winner of the Accord Party’s presidential primary but that the party failed to transmit his name to INEC in accordance with the Electoral Act.

Gbenga Hashim is asking the court to affirm him as the Accord Party’s lawful presidential candidate for the 2027 general election and compel the party to submit his name to INEC, having emerged from the presidential primary held on June 30, 2026.

In the alternative, he is seeking an order directing the conduct of a fresh presidential primary if the court declines to grant his principal relief, arguing that he fulfilled all constitutional and statutory requirements for nomination.

As of the time of filing this report, our correspondent could not independently confirm whether Gbenga Hashim’s name had been uploaded to the INEC portal because of the pending court proceedings.

PoliticsProsecute Nafiu Bala Over Access To Portal Claim – ADC To INEC by miracle002(op): 2:09pm On Jul 14
In a recent report by Daily Post on Tuesday July 14th, 2026, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to initiate legal action against its factional National Chairman, Nafiu Bala, over claims that he gained access to the commission’s candidate nomination portal and uploaded names ahead of the 2027 general election.

The party said Bala’s allegations were false and misleading, insisting they were capable of undermining public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral process. ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, maintained that the matter had gone beyond political disagreement and should be treated as a legal issue requiring investigation.

The controversy followed reports circulating on social media in which Bala allegedly claimed that his faction had secured INEC’s access code and successfully uploaded candidates to the commission’s nomination platform.

INEC, however, dismissed the claim, describing it as false. The commission also clarified that Bala is not recognised as the national chairman of the ADC and therefore has no authority to act on behalf of the party in matters relating to candidate nominations.

Reacting to the development, the ADC welcomed INEC’s clarification and urged the electoral body to ensure that those responsible for originating and spreading the claim are held accountable under the law. The party argued that falsely claiming access to a restricted electoral platform is a serious allegation with implications for the credibility of the electoral system.

According to the ADC, allowing such claims to go unchallenged could encourage misinformation and create unnecessary doubts about the integrity of INEC’s processes. The party stressed that anyone found culpable should face appropriate legal consequences to serve as a deterrent.

The dispute comes as political parties continue preparations for the 2027 general election, with internal leadership disagreements in some parties attracting public attention. The ADC maintained that only officials recognised by INEC are authorised to carry out official transactions on behalf of the party and expressed confidence that the commission would take the necessary steps in line with existing electoral laws.

BusinessDangote Refinery Fixes Petrol Price In New Pricing Template by miracle002(op): 5:02am On Jul 14
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has fixed the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, at $0.779 per litre as it officially transitioned to a dollar-denominated pricing system for refined petroleum products.

The new pricing template, which took effect on Monday, July 13, 2026, also pegs Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) at $1.087 per litre and aviation fuel at $0.942 per litre, while coastal deliveries of petrol have been priced at $1,044.62 per metric tonne.

The move effectively ends naira payments for petrol, diesel and aviation fuel purchased from the refinery, marking a significant shift from the naira-based transactions introduced under the Federal Government’s naira-for-crude policy, which commenced on October 1, 2024.

In a notice to petroleum marketers and customers, the refinery said all previously issued naira-denominated Proforma Invoices (PFIs) and Deal Recaps for both gantry and coastal transactions had become invalid.

The notice, signed by the refinery’s Group Commercial Operations, stated: “Following our email of July 9, 2026, regarding the transition from naira to United States dollars (USD), please note that all issued naira coastal and gantry PFIs/Deal Recaps are now invalid, and no payments should be made against them.

“The applicable USD prices for each product, effective today, July 13, 2026, are provided below.”

Under the revised pricing template, petrol sold through the gantry will cost $0.779 per litre, diesel $1.087 per litre, aviation fuel $0.942 per litre, while coastal PMS supplies will sell for $1,044.62 per metric tonne.

The refinery, however, clarified that the transition does not affect Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) transactions.

Also note that this transition to USD does not apply to LPG transactions,” the notice added.

Industry sources said the change was necessitated by an increasing mismatch between the currency used to purchase crude oil and the currency in which refined products were being sold.

According to one source familiar with the development, Dangote Refinery now receives a significant portion of its crude oil from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) under dollar-denominated supply arrangements, while a large volume of refined products has continued to be sold domestically in naira.

The source said the imbalance had heightened the refinery’s exposure to foreign exchange risks.

Another industry official explained that the refinery had received fewer crude cargoes under the naira-for-crude arrangement in recent months, making it commercially necessary to align product sales with the currency used for crude procurement.

“Dangote Refinery is receiving fewer naira-denominated crude cargoes from NNPCL than dollar-denominated cargoes, while a larger volume of its petroleum products has been sold in naira.

The resulting currency mismatch, combined with volatility in international crude oil prices and continued exchange-rate uncertainty, made it necessary to migrate product sales to dollars,” the source said.

The development is expected to have far-reaching implications for petroleum marketers, many of whom source products directly from the refinery for nationwide distribution.

It also raises fresh questions about the future of the Federal Government’s naira-for-crude initiative, which was introduced to strengthen domestic refining, reduce pressure on foreign exchange demand and help stabilise fuel prices.

Although the refinery has fixed a dollar benchmark for product sales, the retail pump price of petrol across the country will continue to depend on several factors, including the prevailing naira-dollar exchange rate, international crude oil prices, transportation and logistics costs, regulatory charges and marketers’ margins.

With Dangote Refinery now accounting for a substantial share of Nigeria’s refined petroleum supply, industry stakeholders are expected to closely monitor how the new pricing regime influences fuel prices and competition in the deregulated downstream petroleum market.

Christianity EtcWhat Did Jesus Really Meant When He Said "Judge Not" by miracle002(op): 6:12am On Jul 06
“Judge Not” — What Did Jesus Really Mean?

Many people quote “Judge not” as if Christians must never call out sin, discern truth, or rebuke evil. But when the Bible is read in context, God does not forbid righteous judgment — He forbids hypocritical, proud, and unfair judgment.

Jesus said:

“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.”
— John 7:24

Christ was not teaching moral blindness. He was teaching discernment guided by truth, mercy, and holiness.

1. Hypocritical Judgment Is Sin

Jesus warned against condemning others while ignoring our own sins.

“And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?”
— Matthew 7:3 (KJV)

The Pharisees judged outwardly while their hearts were corrupt. God hates self-righteousness. A Christian must first examine himself before correcting others.

Righteous judgment begins with humility and repentance.

2. Christians Are Commanded to Discern Good and Evil

The world says: “Don’t judge anyone.”

But the Bible says believers must test, discern, and expose evil.

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV)

“Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”
— Ephesians 5:11 (KJV)

If Christians never judged between truth and error, holiness and wickedness, then false teachers, corruption, and sin would spread unchecked.

God calls His people to spiritual discernment.

3. Preaching Includes Rebuking Sin

Paul instructed Timothy:

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
— 2 Timothy 4:2 (KJV)

A preacher who never rebukes sin is not preaching the full counsel of God.

Biblical rebuke is not hatred — it is love warning people of danger.

A doctor who refuses to diagnose disease is not compassionate. Likewise, a church that refuses to confront sin is not loving souls faithfully.

4. Spiritual People Must Exercise Judgment

Paul wrote:

“But he that is spiritual judgeth all things…”
— 1 Corinthians 2:15 (KJV)

This does not mean believers act superior. It means mature Christians discern spiritual truth through the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.

The church must judge:

• false doctrine,

• immoral behavior,

• wolves in sheep’s clothing,

• and teachings contrary to Scripture.

Without judgment, truth collapses into confusion.

5. The Difference Between Righteous and Unrighteous Judgment

Unrighteous Judgment

• Proud

• Hypocritical

• Harsh

• Based on appearance

• Condemning without mercy

Righteous Judgment

• Based on Scripture

• Humble

• Loving

• Truthful

• Aimed at restoration and repentance

Galatians 6:1 says:

“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness…”

Correction should come with meekness, not arrogance.

6. Jesus Judged Sin Openly

Jesus rebuked:

• the Pharisees,

• hypocrisy,

• false worship,

• greed,

• and unbelief.

He called people to repentance constantly.

Yet Jesus was also full of mercy toward sinners who humbled themselves.

Truth and love are not enemies. Biblical judgment speaks truth while extending grace.

7. Final Judgment Belongs to God Alone

Christians can discern actions and teachings, but only God sees the heart perfectly.

“For the Lord seeth not as man seeth…”
— 1 Samuel 16:7 (KJV)

We must never play God or condemn people self-righteously. Eternal judgment belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Conclusion

The Bible does not teach Christians to abandon judgment.

It teaches believers to:

• judge righteously,

• walk humbly,

• rebuke sin lovingly,

• defend truth boldly,

• and examine themselves continually.

“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.”
— John 7:24 (KJV)

The issue is not whether Christians judge.

The issue is how they judge — according to flesh, pride, and hypocrisy… or according to God’s truth, holiness, and love.
BusinessNNPCL Slashes Petrol Price Again, Cuts Pump Rate By N60 In Fresh Review by miracle002(op): 6:37pm On Jul 05
According to a report by DAILY POST on Sunday 5th July 2026, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced another reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), marking its second price cut in less than two weeks.

Checks at several NNPCL filling stations on Sunday showed that petrol is now being sold at N1,150 per litre, down from the previous N1,210 per litre, representing a N60 decrease.

With the latest adjustment, the state-owned oil company has reduced its petrol price by a cumulative N110 per litre since June 27, 2026, continuing a trend of downward price reviews.

The development follows a recent decision by Dangote Refinery to lower its ex-depot petrol price to N1,075 per litre, its fourth such reduction in recent weeks.

Other major fuel marketers have also responded to the changing market. Filling stations operated by NIPCO, AA Rano, and Ranoil have adjusted their pump prices to between N1,205 and N1,240 per litre, offering motorists some relief.

The decline in fuel prices comes amid a drop in international crude oil prices, with Brent crude trading around 72 dollars per barrel and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) selling at approximately 68 dollars per barrel.

Industry observers believe the continued fall in depot and retail fuel prices could encourage further competition among marketers and provide some relief to consumers grappling with high transportation and living costs.

Christianity EtcJoseph Didn't Bind The Spirit Of Lust-he Fled by miracle002(op): 8:55am On Jul 05
The message in this quote is not just a suggestion—it is a command pattern seen all throughout Scripture: when it comes to lust and temptation, God does not tell you to fight it… He tells you to flee.

Look at the life of Joseph in Genesis 39. When temptation came through Potiphar’s wife, Joseph did not stand there trying to “rebuke” lust or reason with it. The Bible says:

“And it came to pass… she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.” (Genesis 39:12, KJV)

He ran. He left everything behind—even his reputation, even his garment—because he understood something many people today ignore:

Some battles are won by running, not resisting in place.

The Word of God confirms this again in 1 Corinthians 6:18:

“Flee fornication…”

Not manage it.
Not negotiate with it.
Not pray while staying in it.

Flee it.

Why? Because lust is not a small temptation—it is a consuming fire that destroys souls, homes, and destinies. Samson played with it and lost his strength. David lingered and fell into sin. But Joseph ran—and kept his integrity.

Child of God, hear this clearly:

Temptation will talk.
It will look appealing.
It will feel urgent.

But sin always hides a hook behind the bait.

That is why your victory is not in how strong you are—
your victory is in how fast you obey God and get out.

Jesus said:

“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation…” (Matthew 26:41, KJV)

Notice—He didn’t say “stand in it and prove your strength.”
He said don’t enter it.

So when that message comes…
When that image appears…
When that person draws you in…

RUN.

Run from the conversation.
Run from the place.
Run from the habit.

Because every step away from sin is a step closer to God.

Joseph ran from lust—and ended up in purpose.
If you run today, you’re not losing…

you’re preserving your soul. 🔥

Christianity EtcWhen Jesus Is In Sight, Don't Let The Storm Decide Your Faith by miracle002(op): 8:31am On Jul 05
📖 "But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord, save me!' Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him." — Matthew 14:30–31 (NIV)

The greatest danger in your storm is not the wind around you—it's taking your eyes off the One who is greater than the storm. The moment Peter focused on the waves, he began to sink. The moment he cried out to Jesus, grace reached farther than fear ever could.

Storms have a way of exposing what calm seasons can hide. They reveal where our confidence truly rests. Peter didn't fail because there was a storm; he failed because he allowed the storm to become bigger in his mind than the Savior standing before him.

Imagine the scene. The wind is roaring. The waves are crashing. The disciples are terrified. Yet in the middle of chaos, Jesus is walking on the very thing that threatens everyone else. What frightens us is already beneath His feet. The storm that overwhelms us is under His authority.

Peter did something no one else dared to do. He stepped out of the boat. While the others watched from a place of safety, Peter chose faith over comfort. Every miracle begins with a step of obedience. You will never experience what God can do until you're willing to trust Him beyond what feels safe.

But faith must remain focused. "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." — 2 Corinthians 4:18. Peter was walking on the impossible as long as his eyes were fixed on Jesus. The miracle didn't end because Jesus changed—it ended because Peter's focus changed.

How many times have we done the same? We begin with confidence, but then life happens. Bills pile up. The diagnosis comes. Relationships break. Prayers seem unanswered. Suddenly, our attention shifts from God's promises to our problems. Fear grows wherever faith loses its focus.

Yet Peter's greatest moment was not when he walked on water. It was when he discovered that even while sinking, Jesus was still reaching. Failure never places you beyond the reach of God's grace. The same hand that called Peter out of the boat was the hand that lifted him back above the waves.

The beautiful truth is that Jesus didn't stand at a distance waiting for Peter to save himself. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." — Psalm 46:1. The Savior moved immediately. Heaven does not hesitate when a heart genuinely cries out to God.

Sometimes God allows storms, not to destroy us, but to deepen our dependence on Him. Calm seas can make us comfortable, but storms teach us to cling to Christ. The waves that seem determined to drown your faith may actually be preparing it to become stronger than ever before.

Notice that after Jesus caught Peter, they walked back together. Peter didn't swim back. He didn't crawl back. He walked beside the One who had rescued him. Grace doesn't merely pull you out of failure—it teaches you how to keep walking.

There are storms in life that no amount of human strength can overcome. But there has never been a storm that Jesus could not command. He still speaks peace into chaos. He still calms fearful hearts. He still makes a way where there seems to be none.

The enemy wants you to believe that because you're struggling, God has abandoned you. The Gospel tells a different story. Your weakness is often the place where Christ reveals His greatest strength. Every storm becomes an opportunity to witness His faithfulness.

The invitation of Jesus has never changed. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:5–6. Faith is not pretending the storm doesn't exist. Faith is believing that Jesus is greater than the storm.

Perhaps today you feel like Peter—tired, overwhelmed, and beginning to sink beneath the weight of life's waves. Don't let pride keep you silent. Peter prayed one of the shortest prayers in Scripture: "Lord, save me!" It was enough because it was sincere. God responds to hearts that call upon Him.

Today, choose to lift your eyes above the wind. The waves may still roar, but Jesus is still walking on them. His hand has never lost its strength. His promises have never lost their power. And His love has never failed a single soul that trusted Him. Keep your eyes on Christ, step forward in faith, and remember: the storm is temporary, but the Savior is eternal.
PoliticsADC Faction Rejects Atiku, Declares Chris Uba For 2027 Presidential Ticket by miracle002(op): 7:33am On Jul 02
The factional leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by National Chairman Nafiu Bala Gombe, on Wednesday, dismissed claims that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, insisting that the party has already concluded its internal processes and nominated Chris Uba as its flag bearer.

The party stated that Atiku “is not, and has never been,” the presidential candidate of the ADC for the 2027 elections.

In a statement by its National Chairman, Nafiu Bala Gombe, the party said it was issuing the clarification in the public interest and to safeguard the integrity of Nigeria’s democratic process.

It also disowned a group allegedly operating under the leadership of David Mark, describing it as a self-styled faction that is not recognised by the party.

According to the statement, the group does not constitute any legitimate organ of the ADC and therefore lacks the constitutional and legal authority, including recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to conduct congresses, primaries or make binding decisions on behalf of the party.

He said: “The legitimate National Leadership of the ADC is fully cognizant of sustained overtures and coordinated efforts by certain coalition elements to compel the Party into political alliances with other platforms.

“The Party categorically states that the African Democratic Congress is not in any form of alliance, merger, or coalition with any other political party. The ADC remains an autonomous, ideologically grounded, and self-reliant political party committed to contesting all elections on its own merit, structure, and manifesto.

“In strict compliance with the provisions of the ADC Constitution and the Electoral Act 2026 as guided by INEC, the Party has lawfully concluded its internal processes and has duly nominated its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The African Democratic Congress presents Professor Chris Uba as its duly recognized flag bearer. The Party is of the firm conviction that Professor Uba possesses the requisite competence, capacity, character, and national appeal to provide transformational leadership for Nigeria at this critical period in our history.

“The Leadership of the African Democratic Congress hereby issues a formal and final warning to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to desist, with immediate effect, from holding himself out or parading himself as the presidential candidate of the ADC.

“The ADC was founded on the principles of national renewal, inclusive governance, and credible alternative leadership. The Party is not, and will not be, a rental platform or a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for political opportunists, displaced individuals, or coalition actors seeking to leverage our structure for personal ambition.”

He warned that it would pursue all available legal and constitutional remedies to protect its identity and structure against what it described as unauthorised appropriation or misrepresentation.

The ADC also dismissed recent allegations of a plot to prevent the party from participating in the 2027 general elections, describing such claims as baseless and unsupported by credible evidence.

The party reaffirmed its confidence in INEC and the country’s constitutional and electoral framework, saying it would not be distracted by narratives intended to create panic or public confusion.

He added, “The African Democratic Congress will not be reduced to an instrument of chaos. We will not permit any individual or group to exploit our platform to spread misinformation, incite civil disturbances, or destabilize the polity to advance selfish political objectives.

“The ADC is fully prepared and strategically positioned for the 2027 general elections. The Party will present competent, qualified, and credible candidates for all elective positions at the Presidential, Senatorial, House of Representatives, Gubernatorial, State Assembly, and Local Government levels.

“We therefore urge all bonafide members, stakeholders, teeming supporters, INEC, security agencies, and the general public to remain calm, resolute, and steadfast. All persons are advised to be guided strictly by this official position and to disregard any statements, announcements, or actions emanating from unauthorized persons or factions.”

CrimeBREAKING: Boko Haram Storms Borno Community, Abducts Candidates Taking NECO Exam by miracle002(op):
Suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Monday stormed Lassa town in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, abducting students sitting the ongoing National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations and several teachers, and killing at least one teacher.

The attack occurred on a busy market day, throwing the community into chaos as heavily armed insurgents, said to be dressed in military camouflage and riding motorcycles, reportedly swept through the town unchallenged.

Eyewitnesses told saharareporters that the terrorists targeted the community while students were sitting their NECO examinations, whisking away an unspecified number of candidates and teachers to an unknown destination.

Sources said at least one teacher was shot dead during the assault, although the exact casualty figure remains unclear as residents continue to search for missing persons.

The incident has sparked outrage among residents, who alleged that troops of the Nigerian military stationed in the area had reportedly left on a patrol to nearby Uba, about 16 kilometres from Lassa, when the insurgents struck.

"The soldiers were not around when the terrorists invaded. They came in large numbers, firing sporadically and causing panic everywhere. They took away students writing NECO and their teachers," an eyewitness said.

Efforts by SaharaReporters to reach the spokesperson for the state police command, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, on his mobile phone for comment were unsuccessful.

The latest attack underscores the worsening security situation in parts of southern Borno, where communities continue to suffer deadly raids despite repeated military offensives against insurgent groups.

PoliticsCourt Nullifies Ruling Ordering INEC To Register NDC by miracle002(op): 12:49pm On Jun 26
A Federal High Court in Lokoja has cancelled an earlier judgment that ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to register the Nigeria Democratic Congress as a political party.

The decision was delivered by the presiding judge, Justice Isah Dashen on Friday.

The information about the court’s decision was shared on Friday through a social media post on X by Lere Olayinka, who serves as the media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

This fresh ruling in Lokoja comes at a time when established opposition parties are facing deep internal challenges.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Accord Party are currently are among those affected.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Federal High Court in Abuja recently ordered the electoral commission to deregister the ADC, the Accord Party, and three other political associations. This directive followed a lawsuit filed by the National Forum of Former Legislators, which argued that these parties failed to meet the required constitutional thresholds.

Under Nigerian law, parties must secure at least 25 percent of the votes in a state during a presidential election or win at least one elective seat at the national, state, or local government level to maintain their registration. The court ruled that these parties performed poorly and failed to meet these benchmarks during the 2023 elections and subsequent by-elections.

Thanks for clarifying him
Christianity EtcIf Only The Living Knew What The Dead Knew by miracle002(op): 12:43pm On Jun 23
"If the living knew what the dead knew, then the whole world would follow Jesus Christ.”

This quote speaks to a sobering biblical truth: after death, eternity is no longer theory — it is reality. The Bible teaches that every soul will stand before God, and only through Jesus Christ can a person be saved.

Jesus said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” — John 14:6

The rich man in hell cried out in torment after death:

“And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments…” — Luke 16:23

He suddenly understood what mattered. Wealth did not matter. Pride did not matter. Sin was no longer pleasurable. Eternity became real. He even begged that someone would warn the living:

“I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.” — Luke 16:27–28

That is the heart behind this quote.

If those who rejected God could speak back to the world, Scripture implies they would warn people urgently to repent and believe the Gospel. The dead know now that God’s Word was true all along.

The Bible says:

“It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” — Hebrews 9:27

But the message of the Gospel is not only about judgment — it is about mercy and salvation.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” — John 3:16

Jesus died for sinners, rose again, and offers eternal life freely to all who repent and trust Him.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” — Romans 10:9

The image is powerful because it contrasts two eternal destinies.

• Heaven — the presence of God

• Hell — separation and judgment

Moses wrote:

“I have set before you life and death… therefore choose life.” — Deuteronomy 30:19

The biblical call is urgent because life is short:

“For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” — James 4:14

So the message is not merely fear — it is an invitation: Come to Christ while there is still time, because grace is available today.
CrimeBomb Blast Rocks Lagos Market; Police Assure Residents Of Safety by miracle002(op): 6:42am On Jun 23
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Mr Fatai Tijani, has assured residents that a commercial area in Lagos, remains safe following a bomb explosion suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which triggered brief panic in the area.

Tijani gave the assurance on Monday while addressing journalists at the scene of the incident at the Shoe Materials Market in Mushin, after security operatives conducted a comprehensive sweep of the area.

According to him, the police received information about an explosion and immediately deployed Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operatives to cordon off and secure the area.

“We promptly deployed our EOD team after receiving reports of an explosion. The area was cordoned off and thoroughly searched,” he said.

He explained that preliminary findings indicated that the explosion was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device planted under a vehicle.

Tijani said the device was placed beneath the passenger side of the vehicle and detonated when the engine was started.

“The IED was under the vehicle by the passenger side. It exploded when the vehicle was started,” he stated.

According to him, one person sustained injuries in the incident and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

He said that the victim was in a stable condition.

The commissioner added that after a detailed sweep by EOD experts, no additional explosive devices were discovered in the area.

The police commissioner urged members of the public, especially residents and traders in the affected commercial area, to remain calm and resume normal activities.

Tijani also stated that remnants of the explosive device had been recovered and taken for forensic examination as investigations continued.

He urged residents to remain calm and disregard rumours suggesting widespread insecurity in Lagos, describing these as false and misleading.

The police boss reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state, warning criminal elements to stay away from Lagos.

Also speaking with journalists, the Baale of Oke Mushin Community, Mr Tajudeen Faronbi, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday while he was observing his morning prayers.

“Early this morning, around one o’clock, while I was praying, I received a call that something unusual had been seen. When I got there, I saw a vehicle and people were afraid to go near it,” he said.

He explained that due to the sensitivity of the situation, he immediately contacted the Area Commander and other security authorities, who quickly mobilised officers to the scene.

According to him, dozens of police officers, about 35 operatives, were deployed to secure the area, while additional backup units were also drafted to ensure order and prevent residents from approaching the scene.

Faronbi said the swift response helped to calm tensions and prevent what could have escalated into panic within the community.

He added that security operatives later cordoned off the area and took control of the situation, moving in to assess the suspicious vehicle and safeguard residents.

He noted that the vehicle’s identity and ownership remained unclear, adding that residents were unable to confirm who had parked it or its purpose.

PoliticsBREAKING: Appeal Court Halts Execution Of Judgment Deregistering ADC, Others by miracle002(op): 6:55pm On Jun 16
The Court of Appeal in Abuja has suspended the enforcement of a Federal High Court judgment that directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and four other political parties.

In an unanimous ruling on Tuesday, a three-member panel of the appellate court led by Justice A. B. Mohammed ordered that the judgment delivered by Justice Peter Lifu remain on hold pending the hearing and determination of the appeal against the decision.

The panel said Lifu’s action was “the highest form of judicial impertinence,” stressing that the Supreme Court previously held that a judge who acted in such manner “is unfit for the bench as it amounts to judicial rascality.”

The appellate court held that Justice Lifu’s action amounted to an affront on the hierarchy of courts.

It held that the lower court’s action was “the highest form of judicial impertinence,” stressing that the Supreme Court previously held that a judge who acted in such manner “is unfit for the bench as it amounts to judicial rascality.”

“Courts are enjoined to protect their integrity. This Court has supervisory authority over the trial court. The decision of the lower court to proceed with the judgment despite the express order of this court is a brazen violation of the hierarchy of the court and the 1999 Constitution.

“This court has the duty to invoke its powers in ensuring that its orders are made.

“The application for stay of execution is here yet granted. The enforcement of the judgment is stayed,” the appellate court held.

The move comes after INEC and the affected political parties challenged the judgment, arguing that Justice Lifu proceeded to deliver the verdict despite a subsisting May 22 order of the Court of Appeal said to have halted further proceedings in the matter.

Among the parties affected by the deregistration order are the Action Peoples Party (APP), Action Alliance (AA), Accord Party (AP), and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP). Their lawyers had urged the appellate court to grant a stay of execution, warning that implementation of the judgment could disrupt by-elections scheduled to hold in six states on June 20.

At Tuesday’s proceedings before a three-member panel of the appellate court, INEC’s legal team said it was surprised that Justice Lifu delivered the judgment despite an earlier order of the Court of Appeal, which, according to the commission, was meant to halt the delivery of the verdict.

INEC further stated that it was not officially notified of the judgment and only became aware of the ruling through media reports. The commission told the court it was backing the notice of appeal filed by the affected political parties.

“My Lords, we are aware of an order that this court made on May 22, which stopped the delivery of the judgment of the lower court, which was initially reserved for delivery on June 5. We were not aware of any notice from the court regarding the delivery of the judgment. We only saw it as breaking news in the media. We therefore do not oppose the application of the appellant to stay the execution of the judgment.”

PoliticsRivers APC Leadership Sacks Chinda, Wike’s Preferred Candidates by miracle002(op): 8:39am On Jun 02
The reinstated Emeka Beke-led executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has declared all candidate nominations from the party’s just-concluded primaries null and void.

The nullified primaries had notably produced House of Representatives member Kingsley Chinda, a close ally of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, as the party’s governorship candidate following the withdrawal of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Several other Wike loyalists had also emerged as APC flagbearers for the 2027 National and State Assembly elections.

The development follows a Friday ruling by Justice Elfreida Oluwayemisi Williams-Dawodu of the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt. The appellate court upheld a Rivers State High Court decision that nullified the congresses producing Chief Tony Okocha, Wike’s chief ally in the state, as the party’s chairman.

Reacting to the judgement in a statement on Monday, Darlington Nwauju, the spokesperson for the reinstated Beke faction, declared that all decisions, nominations, and documentations made under the Okocha-led faction between December 20, 2024, and May 29, 2026, are illegal and have no effect.

Nwauju argued that the Tony Okocha faction had no legal right to represent the party or conduct primaries, accusing them of trying to turn the Rivers APC into an exclusive club where founding members and key stakeholders were unfairly disqualified for frivolous reasons.

“All nominations, representations, communications, documentations including decisions reached on behalf of the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress between December 20, 2024, to Friday, May 29, 2026, with the seal of the illegal executives, is illegal, null, void and of no effect,” Nwauju stated.

The Beke faction has now urged the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC to immediately review and wipe out all records of the primaries conducted by the Okocha faction to avoid a repeat of the “Zamfara experience,” where the party lost its electoral victories due to invalid primaries.

Additionally, the faction called on the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) to withdraw the certificates of return issued to local government chairmen and councilors from the Okocha faction who won the August 2025 local government elections, demanding they be handed over to candidates originally submitted by the legally recognized Emeka Beke executive.

PoliticsApc Has Just Shot Itself On The Foot by miracle002(op): 7:53am On May 21
It seems APC has just shot itself in the foot by choosing to tread on a path that even INEC, with all its boldness, would not dare to walk.

Too much of everything, they say, is bad. In the coming days, APC may have set itself up for endless litigation that could distract the party badly ahead of 2027, all because of excessive politics and unnecessary manipulation.

First, APC started by selling forms to people they already knew would never be cleared to participate in the primaries. After making huge money from the exercise, they went ahead to disqualify almost one-third of those who purchased the forms, simply because they believed they lack the locus to challenge the injustice in court.

But now, the real problem has emerged.

For almost 48 hours, APC has refused to announce the results of the Senatorial primaries conducted across the country.

Acting in line with party guidelines and its Constitution, APC had earlier constituted Electoral Committees nationwide to conduct the Senate primary elections on Monday. But shockingly, on the eve of the primaries, the party released a memo stripping those committees of the power to declare the results of the elections they were sent to conduct, unless such results were first vetted in Abuja.

And I ask, how do you empower people to conduct an election, yet deny them the authority to tell contestants who won and who lost?

Well, the Electoral Committees across the nation completed their assignments, yet APC has continued to withhold the results because what they are allegedly cooking up as “results” is still being perfected behind closed doors.

The implication of this manipulation is dangerous for the party itself. APC may have unknowingly fallen into the trap of aggrieved aspirants and handed even weak contenders a legal window to drag the party to court.

The moment those results are finally announced, even people who genuinely lost the primary elections may head straight to court, not necessarily to argue that they won, but to challenge the process used in declaring the results.

Their argument will be that APC, breached both the Electoral Act, the APC Constitution, and the party’s nomination guidelines, all of which mandates that primary election results must be declared at the venue where the election was conducted, by the Electoral Committee Chairman who supervised it. Reference can easily be made to Article 20.4 of the APC Constitution and Section 9(ii)(e) of the APC nomination guidelines.

And when these matters get to court, the focus may no longer be on who actually won or lost. The real issue will become whether APC followed its own rules and due process or not.

Sometimes, no matter how smart a system thinks it is, it cannot fool everybody all the time.

Anybody wanting to complain about Dangote, should first blame themselves for opposing subsidy removal

Nigerians have always opposed subsidy removal since the 1980's, because 'the poor have to breathe'. The problem is, it created the environment where the only person that could build a refinery was a Dangote. A guy with a lot of other lucrative businesses that could be used as collateral should price controls inherent in subsidy kill the refinery.

It also damaged our four refineries...because everything that is in a refinery comes from oversease, so it would cost far more to keep a refinery working. Subsidy first damaged the refinery producing capability, plus the subsides themselves could never make up for the loss in potential profits. That's how we lost our refineries. Add the fact that it provided fertile ground for corruption.

If you want to blame Dangote and company, you might want to think back to 2012. Yes, you supproted tinubu and buhari back then, along with Occupy Nigeria. Some of us sane Nigerians, including those who didn't support the government then, saw the light, but we were too few. Now Dangote has a monopoly, and it is going to take some years before other refineries are up and running.

There is always a reason for some decisions, not everything is 'Government is oppressing us'. Had subsidy gone in 2012, by now we would have had more refineries working.
