I believe Perez pushed for the deal. He might have been impatient and wanted Lope to sign the deal.

I just pity Lope, imagine going trophyless next season. It won't be funny if Perez sacks him before his contract finishes.

As for the FA, most of them are Catalonia, some of them are also barka fans, I believe they were the ones who wanted Lope sacked.

They're catalans. The first person Lius hugged after winning the election was the Catalan FA president. F*cking sc*ms!

And to believe Barca pulled this ish before in 1980 with Kubala for the Euros, and these same Catalans didn't learn from that and went ahead to destabilize the team completely.

Kubala was Spain coach at Euro 1980 - announced pre-tournament he was leaving to take over at Barcelona - Spain finished bottom of group with one point.

My anger with Perez is that he is (and rightly so) going to take most of the blame.

Shame on Real Madrid for succeeding in destabilizing their national team because of selfish reasons. Why that ill-fated announcement of yesterday couldn't wait until after world cup, beats me.
smh on Florentino Perez!

I like this new spanish president. He is a no-nonsense person. They thought he would allow the national team to be toyed with.

if Lope had signed for barka, I strongly doubt if he would have been sacked.

Maybe tomorrow, you start hearing that Lope has started receiving death threats.

Well Hierro (another RM man) has been appointed as the coach. It seems there's no escaping the trap we gleefully cat-walked into. Waiting for the Spanish tabloids to start their musings.

Welcome to Madrid Lope!

Because Barca has done it before. In 1980. You guys signed the Spanish NT coach before the start of the Euros.

Scummies! If any club fan in Spain should say anything about this episode, certainly not cules.

You keep on mentioning 1980 as though you were there when everything happened. There is no excuse to how Real Madrid decided to toy with the national team just about when they are heading straight into the world cup. Stop dragging Barcelona to this.

IKR!

You'd think a bunch of adults would know two wrongs don't make a right. Not the folks at the Spanish FA apparently. Now the FA gets to pay his release clause instead of RM paying it at the end of the WC. All just to measure d*cks!

Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with Alisson, but need raising bid to €80m (MD)

Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with Alisson Becker, according to Mundo Deportivo, but Roma want €80m compared to the €60m offered.

Multiple sources have suggested over the last few days that Liverpool are pulling out of the race to sign Alisson, feeling they cannot match the side that won the Champions League three times in a row.

This evening, Mundo Deportivo claim that Alisson has given the all-clear to Real Madrid after his agent Ze Maria agreed personal terms for a five-year deal with option for a sixth.

However, the club is offering €55m plus €5m in bonuses, whereas Roma are demanding €80m for the Brazil Number 1.

Alisson said he was eager to get the situation sorted out before Brazil’s World Cup campaign kicks off, but that seems unlikely with such a large gap between demand and offer.

Roma believe his performances in Russia could raise the asking price even more.

Actually, Perez, Hierro, and Lius cost Spain the WC.

Perez for again thinking the world revolves around him, and Hierro/Lius thinking this was an ego-match with Perez.

Apparently, both Madrid and Barca players begged Lius to keep Lope until the end of the tourney. Lius refused.

Now they have to announce a new coach for a team selected by Lope, trained by Lope, and have played all the friendlies under Lope.

Perez just keeps making enemies for Madrid. Running Madrid like it's his family business. Expect all away games next season to be hostile for us, as I'm sure the media would make this all Madrid's fault. The players would face the music while the board will hide in the shadows.

-Lord
Very terrible move announcing such a deal without discussing with his current employers at the eve of a major tournament. Pretty crass and lacking of tact

While I think the Spanish FA overreacted it's hard to blame them from a principle standpoint. It's not done like that anywhere
Re: R36L Madrid - Most Successful & Greatest Champ15ns of Spain, Europe & W8rld by Rajmeista(m): 6:04am On Jun 14, 2018
Rubiales truly overreacted. Lope only agreed a deal for Christ sake and what's there with the announcement. Van Gaal agreed Man U deal before 2014 WC same with Conte before Euro 2016 and their teams performed well in the respective tournaments. The problem is the FA and there is something going on in that organisation they are not telling the world.

Perez does not have much fault in all this? Zidane exit caught him off guard and he had do something asap. World cup ends in July and next season starts in August. The guy only announced the agreement. Let's not forget that most top guns in Spain hate Madrid and the man cos of his influence and perhaps success. Rubiales saying he only got to know five minutes before the announcement also suggests his action somehow seems to be personal.
Re: R36L Madrid - Most Successful & Greatest Champ15ns of Spain, Europe & W8rld by Miremoses1(m): 11:58am On Jun 14, 2018
Real Madrid will play their first preseason game on July 28 in Puebla

Mexican side, Puebla, will be Real Madrid's first pre-season opponents on July 28.

The club had planned the game for early August but there has been a change of plans at the last minute.

Now, the players will start preseason in the facilities of Valdebebas and will travel a few days later.

This decision was one of the first concessions for Julen Lopetegui, the new Real coach, since he hoped to have the first test for his new team relatively quickly and to then be able to carry out more training sessions in Madrid .

Let's be sincere with ourselves, none of these guys signed a deal before the world cup then signed for another team 3 weeks later.

well Perez and his way of getting things done asap is very surprising lol

'Today is the happiest day of my life' - Julen Lopetegui unveiled as Real Madrid manager

Julen Lopetegui has been officially unveiled as the new manager of Real Madrid, after he was sacked by Spain two days before their World Cup opener.

Lopetegui was the surprise choice to replace Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu, after the Frenchman resigned over transfer policy despite winning three straight Champions League titles.

The former Porto boss accepted the offer to take over following his duties with Spain at the World Cup - but was dismissed by the Spanish FA before their opener against Portugal on Saturday.

Speaking at his unveiling, Lopetegui said: 'We will try and win everything. I just want to thank everyone, I feel like part of the Real family. Yesterday, after the death of my mother, was the saddest of my life, but today is the happiest day of my life.'

Real president Florentino Perez accused the Spanish FA of 'disrespecting' Real and attempting to 'destroy our image' in an extraordinary statement before Lopetegui spoke, as he claimed the club had been open in their agreement with Lopetegui in an attempt to avoid destabilising the Spanish effort at the World Cup.

He said: 'We wanted to have this act after the World Cup, a successful World Cup for our national team. However circumstances mean we are here now, and we are delighted to welcome the new manager of our team.

'I know for you, Julen, today is a day of a lot of feelings, strange feelings, as you wanted to be world champion, you wanted to make Spain champion of the world and then be manager of your dear Real Madrid.

'Inevitably there will be some comments about what has happened, but Real and Julen made an agreement to work together after the World Cup, respecting his contract. We wanted to do it before the World Cup to make it transparent and avoid rumours.

'There is no precedent that a manager agrees to become manager of a team after a competition and that agreement has been interpreted as disloyal. If you think it is, well, that is not how we do things in modern Spain. It is not true at all.

'We wanted to make it transparent and clear to prevent leaks that could damage Spain during the World Cup. This agreement seemed all normal, but then it was a reaction of pride from the FA president which has disrespected Real Madrid.

'There have been cases, Conte, van Gaal, who have agreed to move on from national teams before or during a competition. Real are proud to have been able to help the success of the national team, and it is important that we remain the most respected club in the world and work against those who seek to destroy our image. I do not want to play the victim, but we must combat this anti-Madrid feeling during one of the best moments in our history.

'We are hugely surprised and cannot understand how this agreement could affect the players who are committed to being world champions again. These are professional players, this agreement would not hurt them, there is nothing that does not justify Lopetegui being on the Spain bench tomorrow.

'We are sorry he could not fight to make Spain world champions, but we have the satisfaction of having a great manager to make history again. This is a huge challenge not many get to face, I want to thank you Julen, and welcome you to your home.'

Lopetegui previously played for Real as a goalkeeper, and managed the B team, Castilla, before coaching in Portugal.

Rodrygo signed. A deal with Odriozola and Alisson in advanced stages.
