Yippee!! I'm officially done with the CSS course. The last module was all about SASS/SCSS and their features such as:1. Nesting. 2. Variables. 3. Maps. 4. Conditions and loops. 5. Helper functions and mixins. I'll use the remaining days of this month to complete some HTML and CSS challenges on frontend-mentors, then start JavaScript next month. You'll be updated D! with every challenge I complete. |
Hey Diary, I'm almost done with the CSS course, there's just two modules left. ![]() I learnt about some new stuff today btw, they include: 1. The CSS variable and it's syntax. 2. The root pseudo selector. 3. The var() function. 4. Vendor prefixes, support queries and polyfills. 5. Cross-browser inconsistencies. 6. How to choose class names correctly. 6. The differences between Vanilla CSS and CSS frameworks. Tomorrow D. |
Yippee! I just finished the module on CSS transitions and animation, the module actually contained some touches of JavaScript, omo! that JavaScript ehnnn.Anyways, I learnt some new stuff, they include: 1. The animation property and it's attributes. 2. The @keyframe expression and it's syntax. 3. The from and to keywords, coupled with the percentage variations for the @keyframe expression. Night night D! |
Laptop started acting up oo, my VS Code editor goes off by itself, So I started a new module on transitions this afternoon, and I've learnt about the following: 1. The transition property and the syntax of it's attributes. 2. The opacity property. 3. Timing functions. 4. The setTimeout JavaScript function. I'll update ya later D. |
So I started a new module on transformation. I went through the part that was on 2-D, and I didn't quite understand the part on 3-D. I might just leave the part on 3D and move on to the next module, then revisit it later on. I learnt about the following: 1. The transform property. 2. The transform-origin property and it's attributes. 3. The rotate and translate functions. 4. The skew and scale functions. 5. The transform shorthand. Later D. |
Samuell2019:Hey buddy, regarding the torrent ish, I really don't know why the download seems slow asides bad network. You could try using ADM too - another torrent downloader. Preferably, you could download the rar files instead, this helped me at a point where my torrent download wouldn't go past 90%. |
Hey D! I finally completed my first project challenge, here's the link: https://mirthosas.github.io/Order-Summary-Challenge/I'm happy meeeehhhnnn, I know it isn't much, but allow me celebrate my small win. ![]() I'll try to do another one tomorrow. See ya. |
Hey D! My head aches, as I just finished a challenge on frontendmentor. The issue now is creating a repository on GitHub, but doing that seems like one herculean task. Navigating through GitHub is another learning curve on its own.I think there's a module on git and GitHub in the full stack course I downloaded initially, I'll have to go through that. |
Samuell2019:What torrent downloader do you use? |
Yay! I just finished the module on CSS grid. I already feel somewhat like a pro, I honestly cannot wait to finish this course on CSS so I'd do all the HTML and CSS projects on frontendmentor. I learnt some new stuff btw, they include: 1. The fit-content property. 2. How to position grid elements. 3. How to position the grid itself. 4. Making the grid responsive with media queries. 5. Sizing automatically generated rows and columns. 6. Comparison between explicit and implicit grid. 7. The auto-fill and auto-fit values. 8. How to create a dense grid. 9. Comparison between flexbox and grid. Later D! |
efembaba:Not at all buddy, I'm sorry I missed your message. Sent ya a message already. |
Samuell2019:That's most probably a network issue I guess... |
Holla D! Grid is really cool. I learned some new grid related stuff today, they include: 1. How to assign names to grid lines. 2. Shorthand for adding columns and rows. 3. How to add grid gaps. 4. How to assign names to cells in a grid. Tomorrow it'll be D! |
Thunday1005:You could check tutsgalaxy or downloadly |
Thunday1005:I'd suggest you get JavaScript -The complete guide 2021 by Maxmillan Schwarz, his CSS course is nothing short of amazing. |
Hey Diary, I started the module on CSS grid this evening. So far I got to know about the following: 1. The display:grid declaration. 2. The unit called fraction with symbol fr. 3. How to add rows and columns to our grid through the use of the grid-template-columns and grid-template-rows properties. 4. Positioning the child elements within the grid using the grid-column-start(end) and grid-row-start(end) properties. 5. Use of the repeat function to create equally sized columns or rows. 6. The minmax function used to set the minimum and maximum height values for child elements in our grid. The grid thingy isn't complicated like I thought it would. See ya D! |
Thunday1005:You aren't alone ooh I really haven't started the course on JavaScript though, I just did a module that contained an intro to JavaScript in the CSS course I'm using. It wasn't easy initially, but I finally got a hang of it. Going through the course in parts is the way to go. What course are you using? |
I am here again, I am here again, oh my D! I am here again, to update my dear diary. ![]() I just finished the module on flexbox, I know I wasted some time, but let me celebrate my small win biko. ![]() Today, I got to learn about: 1. The order property for flex items. 2. The align-self property. 3. The flex-grow, flex-shrink and flex-basis properties. 4. The flex shorthand for flex-items. I'll be starting a module on CSS grid tomorrow. Lemme catch some sleep, see ya! |
DrOladipo:We dey here ![]() |
Dearest Diary, I'm sorry I left ya hanging, this consistency thingy isn't easy I must say, but I won't give up. ![]() I started learning about flexbox today and it actually makes our code a lot leaner, especially with the plenty unnecessary vertical-align and inline-block. I got to know about the following: 1. The display:flex property. 2. The flex container and flex items. 3. The flex-direction property and it's attributes. 4. The flex-wrap property and it's attributes. 5. The main axis and the cross axis. 6. The align-items, justify-contents and align-content properties. Flexbox really makes one do some stuff faster, resulting in a leaner code. It's all coming together D! I'll see ya tomorrow. |
Think4Myself:Cool, I'll catch up soon. |
