This group is certainly not an echochamber.

During the election, we had voters from all over the Overton window and beyond .Greens,Labour,Liberal Democrats, tories even reform UK were all represented.

That is not typical of an echochamber.
We just refuse to accept the view that attempting to burn people alive is justified no matter the level of provocation, poverty and deprivation.

That is a far right argument and if you are still making that argument, then you may label yourself far right with my full blessing.

It is very complex. It's a serious medical procedure and should not be toyed with.

Interesting fact: intelligence is transmitted via the mother's mitochondrial genes. I m not sure how much smartness is in the mitochondria of anyone who risks life for a wig.

I can understand doing this for survival

There is a difference betweeen having a point in a discussion and being right. In the aspect of the underlying issues, I totally agree with her, I am science student and the law of physic states that “For every action, there is a reaction”. Now the debate now goes to “is that the right channel the reaction is to directed to?” and I believe this is exactly Zahra29’s view and not like she is supporting their violence attitude when she is also prone to be a victim..
So the next time I feel aggrieved ,can I attack my neighbours too? Instead of petitioning the government the actual cause of my woes, can I burn down the travelodge with people in them?
Was that an equal reaction?

I would like to request that we personalise this discussion. Instead of just saying "immigrants" say "I" , "my job" etc etc. See if you still want to accept any responsibility for these riots. I ,an immigrant ,do not accept any of the responsibility for these riots.
I return them squarely back to the rioters . None of my actions caused this. They own this 100%.

Debriefing.

I think the worst of these riots are over now. I have switched my summer plans back on. If you ,like me, love schadenfreude, then we are both in for a treat watching these mouthbreathers get banged up in jail.

These riots made me have a rethink of my place in this country ( am I wanted,is there a future for me etcetera) but, after watching the quick reaction from the government and the massive outpouring of support from the people of the UK,I feel secure once again.
It will take a while to heal the wounds from the riots and some of our children may never forget it but it is hoped that the wrath of the state visited on these miscreants will start to sew these wounds together.please feel free to share your own thoughts on this unfortunate events and the best way to heal as a community.

Having said that, I ve read from quite a few people on here that Zahra's views are right and the problem was the timing.

If I m not mistaken, her contention is that the rioters have legitimate grievances for the violence visited on all of us this past week. That they have been victims of deprivation, poverty directly linked to us immigrants. And that is why they decided to maim us and destroy livelihoods .

I say that is not true. I have no powers except that vested in me by occupying the office of the citizen. I pay my taxes dutifully and work in the public service of this country. No-one in the country could be found to do my job when I migrated(still can't be replaced even now).I haven't taken any jobs.i make no policies.
If anything, I am also a victim of deprivation and poverty directly linked to disastrous government policies.

You can now see why I have an issue with the content of her messaging.

(I stand to be corrected if I misread her message)

The UK has welcomed more immigrants during Tory rule than during all non-Tory rules combined.
In 1 year of Tory rule alone, net migration was over 650,000. Tell me any non-Tory government that has ever done that?
The Number of Nigerians (alone) that migrated to the UK (under a Tory health & care visa) within the last 2 years is in hundreds of thousands.

.
You know dang well none of that was intentional. It was all due to their woeful failures. But rather than admit we needed immigrants to run this country, they hypocritically spout anti immigration rhetoric in front while approving hundreds of thousands of work visas secretly.

The main issue people are having with your comment which you seems not to grab is the timing of your arguments. It should come later when it is all calm and not at the moment when POC are living in fear being harmed or maimed.

If your family were in the position of harm during this riot, I believe you wouldn’t come here defending why they were being attacked.

An important aspect of emotional intelligence is timing.
My main issue with her argument is that it's flawed. These violent racist thugs do not have any locus standi for these devastating attacks.
The Judges agree with me on this...

In the final analysis, the government has to do something about that £8m spent daily on immigrants who came through the channels as it were... That money is indeed much. And there's definitely a difference between migrants who came in through Heathrow and those who came in via the boats. The chances of a well documented immigrant involving in crime would be so much lower than those undocumented immigrants surviving under the radar. Unfortunately, the far right nationalists don't see any difference, they even attack BAME British citizens.
Yay. Was about to mention you again.

There is no excuse for these racist riots. None.
There are ways of addressing concerns, dragging people out of cars and beating them, chasing people with chain saws, burning people alive is not it. Simple and short.

I m happy to report that many of these despicable racists are now in the finding out phase of F**k around, Find out.

I have no idea what you're going on about tbh.

As I've already advised, if you don't think boat crossings should be stopped or criminalised, you should campaign to Labour HQ to CHANGE the law. Because so far that's not been included by Labour in the change that was voted for.

Yes we do, or else the same riots/ protests will keep happening up whether in Harehills or Rotherham or elsewhere.

The criminals will receive swift and steep punishments and penalties - it's already happening. It doesn't stop the deeper societal issues from being looked into after the dust has settled. Most people can walk and chew gum at the same time you know.

Anyways these discussions are already being had behind closed doors regardless of your views - watch out for new policy announcements in the coming months.
Isn't that what everyone voted for a month ago? Change? Did they need to turn to attempted murder and theft to make an additional point?

What did I do to deserve fearing for my life in my own country kwa? All plans for summer cancelled? Fear on my way to work? Contingency mapping routes of escape?Did I approve the billions wasted on Rwanda and housing asylum seekers? What is my part in this?

We should be able to have a broader, rational discourse about some of the underlying issues and general discontent felt even by those who are not protesting, without being accused of supporting the violence.
No ,you don't. QED.

They lost that right when they tried to burn those people alive. When they dragged people out of their cars. We are back to the bad old days of the p*** bashing in the 70s. There is no discussion to be had with criminals.

They are getting banged up now and good riddance to them. Hopefully there ll be enough space to jail them all and enough judges to sentences them after 14 yrs of your mates misrule of the country.

The most tragic result of that is the loss of innocence for minorities in this country. Humza Yousaf spoke of questioning his own identity and belief in his Scottish Ness. He is not the only one saying that today.

Not according to the Illegal Migration Act which the UK government passed into law in 2023. According to the law:

The Illegal Migration Act 2023 changes the law so that those who arrive in the UK illegally will not be able to stay here and will instead be detained and then promptly removed, either to their home country or a safe third country.

The act aims to:

put a stop to illegal migration into the UK by removing the incentive to make dangerous small boat crossings
.....

Just stating facts.

You might want to check with Labour HQ if they have any plans to rescind this law and endorse boat crossings as a legal and acceptable route of migration to the UK

Fun fact: Up until last year, Albanians made up a significant proportion of people crossing by boat - until the UK government made a deal with the Albanian govt to stop its citizens.
Albania is considered a safe country, not at war and is even a candidate country to join the European Union, so it is a bit naive to think that only genuine wartorn refugees and asylum seekers are crossing over from Europe to get to the UK. E.g. Some are fleeing deportation from Germany and France, similar to some UK migrants that are crossing to Ireland to apply for asylum there.
I see . Shouldn't they be banged up on stepping foot on british soil then? Why is that not happening? Some "laws " are only good for loo roll. This is one of them. Asylum seeking is not a crime under international law. How you arrive does not matter

Not everyone is a genuine asylum seeker. That's why you process the claims, sift out the liars and deport them.
This is not rocket science

Thank you Goodenoch. E don set. Rishi tell us what crime asylum seekers are guilty of and why they haven't been arrested.

TIP: They are NOT guilty of any crime. You are allowed to come here to claim asylum by any means possible.
Prior to 2018, very few were choosing this deadly route because there were other safer routes available. However, those other routes are all now closed off leaving the perilous channel crossing as the ONLY route.
It's not a choice, there is no other way

I note that you have also conflated the 2011 riots and BLM protests.
