misskano:I'm a software engineer and I got accepted into an internship program in California. I applied for visa with my husband. We got married nine months ago. Exchange programs usually require that you have a visa sponsor, so you pretty much do all of your documentation with them first. Then they register you on the SEVIS database once you have competed all your documentation. For the records, the marriage certificate we submitted was the one obtained from the mosque where we got married. And I didn't change my name after I got married. Initial date scheduled: July 2022 First expedited request was submitted on 14th of July and it was rejected. I guessed it was because I didn't attach any document. Then I read online that you need to attach DS-2019 and SEVIS fee payment receipt. So a colleague in the US helped me with the payment and it reflected on the portal after three days because he used the mailing option. I sent in another emergency request and it was approved after one week. Expedited date: August 19th 2021 Location: Lagos VO: What are you studying ME: Currently pursuing a degree in *** at UNILAG VO: what type of degree ME: Masters degree VO: is ****** a company or a school? ME: it's a company VO: How long will this internship last? ME: 1 year VO: will you be leaving your degree and concluding it when you return? ME: I am currently writing my research and I would be defending in a few weeks time. VO: is this program part of your degree. Or a separate arrangement? ME: Its a separate arrangement VO: ***Types and looks at my DS-2019. Then hands me a booklet. And said: if your rights as an employee in the US is violated, feel free to contact this organisation. Ensure you go through it when you get home. I would be approving your Visa. My husband want not asked any question. All the best folks. Ensure you are confident during your interview. I posted this because there is limited information on exchange visitor visas on nairaland |
My visa was approved in Lagos today for a J1 exchange visitor visa. Transcript loading. |
I am applying for a J1 Exchange Visitor Visa. My interview is in August. |
Omoxrist:Lagos |
Kioshi:Yes. I didn't attach it in the first request I sent. Location is Lagos. |
Palmyra:Initially, I didn't attach my SEVIS fee receipt. I thought I would be able to walk into any bank to pay, but it turned out that Western Union payments aren't accepted in Nigeria. So I had to contact a friend in the US that helped me with the payment. Immediately the SEVIS fee payment was confirmed, I reapplied. That SEVIS payment process took a week because the person used the check option. |
My EA was approved today. The first request I sent was rejected. So I reapplied again on the 27th of July. If you want to apply for an EA, Ensure you attach SEVIS fee receipt. It's very important. |
AnamegeNzube95:Lagos |
toaldoe:This is true. January 2024 as at yesterday. |
OlawumiCecilia:Did you attach your SEVIS receipt? I think that thing is very important inorder to get an EA approved |
Bamdaniels:The reschedule option is always there for everyone. You have to wait for them to send you an email that your emergency request has been approved. That is where you would get a link to schedule a closer date. Typically, that happens in 24 hours or more. You can only reschedule once so if you do that now and the email comes, you would not be able to reschedule again until you pay another MRV fee. Just be patient. |
Chyjoey:Thanks. But I want to know how many times I can request. My SEVIS fee has been pending for over a week. I see it is required for one to put in an emergency appointment. So I don't want to waste my chances |
How many times can one apply for an emergency appointment? My first was denied, although no reason was stated. But I see on the portal that I can request again. |
MasterCard applicants at UBC have their own submission deadline. Once you miss it, you'll likely not be considered. See the link below http://mcfscholars.ubc.ca/apply/graduate/ bizmania: |
Whatever you are doing, ensure you submit your applications on or before 2nd of January 2020 (Including your referees). I missed the deadline for referee submission last year for UBC, so I learnt the hard way. I reapplied again this year and my last referee submitted the letter today. All the best guys! Ifedolarpo: |
Hello all. Please how did you go about the UBC MCF eligibility submission. Because I received an auto response after submitting the package that applications received via email will not be considered that I have to apply via their website. They put a link there but I can't even find the "APPLY TO MCF" as described in the mail. Please help |
depacifier1:Please is this related to the total scholarship? |
Really! I never knew Femolapasta01: |
Thank you. All the best 1stknight: |
I submitted mine around 20th of January. My last referee uploaded the reference letter March 2nd. How did the pre recorded interview go? 1stknight: |
I applied for the same course. I haven't heard from them yet. If I may ask, did you submit your application very early? 1stknight: |
I find this thread really interesting. My advice for you guys is that you should go with the item you are most convinced about. Don't be tempted to go with too many items as that might reduce your chances. Probably they want to test your ability to stick to your decisions. Let me reemphasise, ensure you explain in detail why you decided to bring whatever you have brought. Who knows they might even be reading this thread. Don't be distracted by the riddle, prepare for likely interview questions. I Wish you guys the very best. |
