Antonio Conte used the international break to brush up on his English football lingo as he put Chelsea’s transfer woes behind him on a golden Italian beach. The Blues chief could be seen kissing his wife Elisabetta and brushing up on his language skills with a handy soccer phrasebook.
With no Premier League football this weekend, the Italian swapped Stamford Bridge for the sandy shores of a beach in back in his homeland.
Despite winning the title in his debut season, the 48-year-old evidently believes there is room for improvement when it comes to his English vocab.
Conte – who is sporting a golden glow whilst slumped on a sunbed – is reading a book called Football English: Soccer Vocabulary for Learners of English by Tom Challenger.
This is a book intended for football players, officials, managers and administrators who are looking to break the language barrier with their sporting colleagues.
The Chelsea boss cosied up with his wife on a sun lounger and the couple shared a kiss after paddling in the sea.
A dad-of-five battling aggressive bowel cancer has told of his heartbreak after losing his wife to the same illness. Devastated friends of Omena Ubiaro fear his young boys could lose both their parents within weeks of one another. Omena, 38, had been battling Stage 4 bowel cancer for two years when wife Makeda was diagnosed with the disease last August.

Makeda, also 38, underwent emergency surgery but could not be saved by doctors and died on July 29.
Her death during Omena’s battle with cancer has sparked fears for the couple’s five sons, aged from seven to 19, as friends launched a fundraising page to support the family.
As part of the appeal, Omena said the death of his beloved wife and ongoing fight against cancer is the “toughest thing” he has ever dealt with.
So far, more than £8,000 has been raised.
In an emotional video filmed from a hospice in Wolverhampton, where Omena is receiving round-the-clock care, the grieving dad appears gaunt as he is hooked up to machines from his bed.
Omena said: “I just want to say thank you so much to everybody that has been supporting myself and my family. “Recently, myself and my five boys we’ve just lost my wife, they’ve lost a mother and I’ve also lost a best friend as well.
“It’s been difficult for the boys, it’s been difficult for myself. “I cannot lie it has been the most toughest thing that a husband and a father’s ever had to face or deal with but it’s only been easier with support and help from friends.”
Omena has openly discussed his battle with bowel cancer through a series of YouTube videos in which he said he believed his faith would help him overcome the disease.
Makeda was admitted to hospital for colostomy surgery but her cancer spread and she died on July 29.
Her funeral is due to take place next month with money generated from a Gofundme page expected to help cover costs.
Yesterday, two sisters, Jessica and Sonia shared a photo of themselves kissing as they celebrated their sisterhood.
Of course, it didn’t go down well with some Nigerian, as they came hard on them, and accused them of being lesbians.
Now, they have denied all reports that claim they are lesbians, by sharing their baby photos, to prove that they are indeed sisters;
Sonia wrote “I wasnt going to say anything about this but my mum wont have that. First of all @jessicaseth_ is my baby sister i have been her bestfriend since we were little, we are really close and not once have we been LESBIANS, We peck each other on the lip doesnt make us LESBIANS.
It was an innocent picture that everyone sexualized, what is wrong with people these days? Its wasnt an intimate kiss why would i kiss my sister intimately? She is not my man. Whether yall believe it or not that had to be said ? #throwback”
On her page, Jessica wrote “Lmao so I never expected this photo of My sister and I to go viral, some people were claiming we ain’t sisters as if they know us,so I had to go find a baby picture of us ?? @soniavoke is my sister it wasn’t a deep kiss, that would be so gross ?.
Some sent dms consoling me for the insults and I was just laughing cos I ain’t guilty. I must confess Y’all made us laugh all through yesterday”
[quote]A 200-level student of the University of Port Harcourt, Ifeanyi Dike, has been arrested for allegedly abducting and killing an eight-year-old girl, Victory Chikamso, for ritual purposes.
Speaking with newsmen at the State Police Command on Saturday, the father of the slain girl, Ernest Nmezuwuba, said he was filled with grief after seeing the mutilated body of his daughter.
He expressed shock that Dike could contemplate killing his daughter. “My name is Ernest Nmezuwuba, I am from Ochiogwa in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.
The man who killed my daughter is like my brother, someone very close to me, I can call him my cousin. He is a 200 level student of the University of Port Harcourt here and he resides at Eliozu,” the father of the slain girl said.
Narrating how his daughter got missing and eventually killed, Nmezuwuba recalled that Chikamso had requested bread for breakfast, which the father bought for her before he left for work on Friday (the day she was abducted).
Nmezuwuba said when he returned home around 3pm and learnt that his daughter was missing, he immediately began a search.
He added that after the search became fruitless, he decided to report the matter to the police.
“I moved immediately with my wife to where our daughter usually went, but we could not find her. Then I ran to the police and they advised me to call back after 24 hours.
“This Ifeanyi (suspect) we are talking about is a habitual criminal. He committed a crime in a bank and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad caught him. Then the in-law went and bailed him.
“So, around 1.30am, the security men ran to me and said that they had seen my daughter and that I should come and see the man that kidnapped my daughter. I was in my shorts and I rushed to the place with the security agents.
“I was told that the person that killed my daughter was caught while carrying a load around 1.10am. The load was in a sack. The policemen said when they confronted him, he said he wanted to take it to the dustbin,” he added.
Nmezuwuba explained that he could not control himself when he saw the body of his daughter with her finger, private part, and eyes removed.
He added, “When I got there, I asked: where is my daughter? They showed me a sack. As I opened it, I saw my daughter; I peeped and watched very well, the two eyes were off, the tongue was gone, one of the breasts was off, one of the fingers, the smaller one, was off. I watched at the centre here, he had carved it (vagina) out.
“This boy decided to use my child for ritual. As I turned back and saw him, he (Dike) was looking at the ground. Immediately I saw him, I shouted, Ifeanyi, you killed by daughter. But he said it was not only him.”
The father thanked the police and the local vigilante for fishing out the person behind the kidnap and murder of his daughter.
A Nigerian Lady, Identified as Nek Key Billz has written to all Biafrans, and urged them to stop deceiving themselves, all in the name of IPOB.
This is to address all the people causing nuisance all in the name of Biafra
You people should stop deceiving yourselves, imagine!!! What do you even have that you want to go for war Which ammunitions do you possess?? How many trained military men do you have Nnamdi Kanu wants to waste the lives of innocent Igbos, while his family is in London Don’t you people have sense at all
What do you think war is?? You people need to wisen up and stop letting that man deceive you… if you ever want to have Biafra, you need to have a plan, well equipped trained persons, and resources but what do you people even have
Nnamdi Kanu is saying that God gives him revelations but less I forget, the Bible said that God is not an author of confusion…. your lives are more precious to God, while not use it wisely instead of embarking on a futile war This resort to shenanigans, hate speech, and sometimes incitement to violence by organisations such as IPOB and MASSOB must be unconditionally condemned as they are inimical to national unity, stability, peaceful coexistence and national security.
We must constantly be aware of the terrain and times. We have a country that has gone through a civil war, military coups and counter-coups, some of them bloody, prolonged military dictatorships, several false starts as a democracy, insurgency and banditry and a huge youth population whose huge expectations are far from being met.
Our peculiar circumstances have made it difficult to deliver and what we need is trust and hope to see us through the difficult times. We shall overcome, but we need all the survival techniques our collective talent can muster.

He made the confession when he was being paraded by the police in Bayelsa State during the week.
Victor is said to be specialized in robbing victims of phones at bus stops and breaking into houses by squeezing through anti-burglary iron-bars, to ransack the homes, during which he would cart away jewelleries, money, phones, and other valuables.
He confessed that he had led several successful operations before nemesis caught up with him.
The young boy told newsmen that he got into the illicit business through the help of his uncle, having already lost his father.
He said, “I lost my father and my mother very early in life. I was staying with my uncle, (name withheld), who taught me how to rob. My uncle has sent me on several occasions to rob in the area.
“There was one time he sent me to an office to steal a TV and their computer, which I did. I was attending the Universal Basic Primary Community Education School at Ovom, I was in primary 4 when I dropped out of school. What happened was that my uncle went to rob, but when the police came to look for him, he ran away from house. So, I dropped out of school and joined a robbery gang.
“I have been involved in several armed robberies; when we go for operation, the older members of the gang will lift me up the fence, I will jump down and pass through the burglarproof bars, enter the house, ransack the place, take money, jewellery and then escape. After the robbery, they will give me N1000 or N1500, which I used to feed myself daily.
Victor, who hails from Egaibiri community in Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State said further: “I have robbed over 20 victims. I stole their phones at bus stops or along the street.
“It was when I spent one month in SARS custody, I decided to escape and squeezed through the iron-bars of the cell. I always slept in the store at Arietalin Street, Ovom, before policemen re-arrested me at Sandy area in Yenagoa.”
“If the state government or the governor of Bayelsa can come to my rescue and train me, I can be leader in Bayelsa tomorrow. I am talented and blessed but I didn’t have parental care. That is why I went into robbery and joined a gang. I am a member of Greenlander cult group. I don’t want to go back to robbing again. I want to be a good citizen of Bayelsa.
“I want the public to forgive me because it was my uncle who introduced me to robbery. I started stealing before I joined the gang. The names of the other six members of the gang who are still on run are Junior, Finefine, Daddy Boy, Godspower, Kempade and Goodtimes.”

Phyno is still speaking on the Hushpuppi Drama. This time he spoke with Sunday Scoop where he had a few words to say concerning the drama.
Rapper, Phyno made headlines few weeks back, when Malaysian-Based Nigerian Big Boy, Ray Hushpuppi attacked him and Ice Prince, and accused them of wearing Fake Patek Wrist Watches.
He wrote: “If you don’t want people to patronise pirated copy (sic) of your work, don’t patronise pirated copy of other people’s work #Hypocrites.”
The drama was ugly.. You can catch up on the Gist Here, Here, Here and Here.
Having none of that, Phyno took to his Snapchat account to reply. In a series of posts, he wrote, “We are not on the same level. You live and die for Gucci. I will live and die for my people. The hunger is different here man…I’ve got cribs, live in my house, yet never posted it. Bought a house for my mum; never posted it. Got her a car on her birthday last two years; never posted it.”
Sunday Scoop caught up with the Igbo rapper and he stated that he had put the episode behind him.
“It is very childish to brag about what I have. I care more about touching lives in positive ways. It is not really about how much you have in your bank account but how many people’s lives you have made better. The good thing is that I have a track record and people know what I do. So it doesn’t really make sense for me to be exchanging words with someone who just came from nowhere and has no credibility whatsoever.”
Shedding some light on his background, Phyno said,
“I am happy for how far I have come. My father never wanted me to become an artiste because he felt it wasn’t a good profession. But I decided to stick to my guns and I have proved that one can also have a good life with music. Now, people call on me to mentor their children and that couldn’t have happened years ago. Nigerian music has gone global and the future looks even brighter.”
