Residents of Ikorodu in Lagos State have cried out to authorities over the frequent escapades of a man who moves around in the dead of the night serially raping women and putting them to death in a Jack-The-Ripper style. The assailant has been codenamed Badoo and is said to have molested and killed another victim, Grace Obinna, a Ghanaian woman married to a Nigerian man, just last Sunday.
The woman's husband was away and Badoo was said to have gained access into her bedroom via the window. He reportedly struck her head with a sharp weapon and she died after the act. Badoo does not steal from victims, the community said.
Abayomi Adelakun, chairman of the Landlords' Association in Oke Ota vicinity of the Ikorodu area said during a protest carried out by residents on Thursday: “Two weeks ago, he came to Oke Ota and attacked an 86-year-old grandma. He attempted To Molest her, but when she resisted, he injured her in the nose. The woman was rushed to a hospital. She survived the attack.
“On Sunday, around 1am, I was called by a security man that Badoo had raped and brutalised Grace (Obinna), who was a teacher with a nine-month-old baby. When we got to the scene, I could not recognise the lady again. All her teeth had been removed; she was in a pool of blood. She was rejected at two hospitals, but confirmed dead at LASUTH.
“Badoo forces himself into women’s rooms, rapes and brutalises them if they resist. He was doing that in neighbouring communities and has now come to Oke Ota.” Awoyemi Tijani, the local chief of the community added: “Nobody has seen him in the daytime. I don’t know what he looks like. We call on the government to guarantee our security and safety. Since the day we heard about this, my wife no longer sleeps at home. I am wondering if Badoo is a spirit.”

A video of the incident:
DJ Jimmy Jatt, whom the DJ is working under has this to say: “I think it was a reaction of an unruly artiste The DJ has been coordinating the performances without issues. Terry G wasn’t even billed to perform. He called the organiser and begged to perform then they gave him a time frame and he used more than his time.
"The organisers used their voice-over guy to call him from the backstage that his time was over and he said if he hears the voice he’ll cause trouble.
"Then he went on to perform about three more songs. He was messing up and people were leaving while he was performing. The organisers were losing crowd and they went to tell the DJ to stop playing his songs so Terry G can get off the stage.
"But he didn’t leave the stage – he continued performing and making music with his bell and he wasn’t leaving still, so they went back to the DJ and told him to play another artiste’s song, and my boy obliged. All of a sudden, Terry G walked straight to the DJ and gave him the most dazzling of slaps, the boy was dazed.
"Then he left the venue immediately because I went back stage immediately to try and talk to him. I was pissed and was going to shut down the performance for the night but I thought of it again because it wasn’t the organisers fault.
"I personally will request a public apology from him just so we have a gentleman’s agreement, because I feel I was the one slapped. Apart from that, if it wasn’t my boy involved and an artiste slaps a DJ in my presence, I’ll stand up for the DJ."

Few days after the incident of a sidechic calling out her man's wife on Facebook for lack of sex skills, a more physical incident involving a sidechic has occurred in Abuja. 26-year-old Jamila Musa said she was bathes by acid by her man's wife on Sunday 29th May 2016. She is currently battling to save her sight at Kubwa General Hospital, Abuja.
Her words:
“A minute to 10pm on Sunday, I was sleeping in my room when I heard a knock on my door. I didn’t recognise the voice immediately but now I am sure of the voice. He said my boyfriend sent him to give me a message. “My boyfriend usually sends motorcycle operators to me so I assumed he was the one that sent this one and as I was trying to open the door, he poured the acid on my face. I rushed outside, I could not shout for about five minutes but when I started shouting, my neighbours gathered and washed my face with soap; they applied honey and pap to it before rushing me to the hospital.
“I suspect his wife sent someone to attack me, I did not know at first that he was married but when I realised it, I tried to cut him off. I only knew that he was married when his wife started sending me text messages, insulting and threatening me, I even told him that I was going to report her to the police but he asked me to leave her alone.
“I have reported to the Zuba police station and they said they will arrest my boyfriend, his wife and her brother.”
“But this people here are not attending to me, I feel as if my condition is now worse, compared to when I came; I can no longer see well, the acid did not affect my eyeballs so I believe that when the swelling reduces, I will see again. But they are not attending to me, if they cannot treat me, they should refer me elsewhere, they should take care of me, I don’t want to lose my sight.
“Look at my face, I want to recover from this, the acid did not affect my eyeball, I can see the reflection of light from the windows, I just want the swelling to go down but I feel abandoned, they treat others and abandon me, if they cannot do it, they should refer me to another hospital. This thing was not like this when I came here; I am scared; I don’t want to rot here.”

But for the alertness of security guards on the church premises, the suspect would have escaped with the motorcycle.
The guards were said to have mobilised some other motorcycle riders in the church, who gave the suspect a chase and arrested him as he was about riding onto the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Upon his arrest, the suspect, who identified himself as Raymon and later Ramoni, said he took to robbery because he was hungry.
Policemen from the Ibafo division were later invited to take him away.
A member of the church, Ogungbola Adenekan, said the incident happened around 1pm while the men’s fellowship was on.
He said, “The service was about rounding off when some ushers who knew the owner of the motorcycle came into the church. They asked the man if he gave anybody permission to take his motorcycle away and he said no.
“We immediately asked some of our brethren with motorcycles to chase the suspect. Some commercial motorcyclists also joined them. He was about to ride the motocycle onto the expressway when he was caught by the members who went after him. They brought him back to the church.
“He had disconnected some of the wires in the motorcycle. He found a way to start it without any noise. He had sneaked into the church and acted as if he was a member.”
The suspect, who reportedly gave conflicting information about himself, allegedly claimed to be from the Mowe/Ibafo area of Ogun State.
He reportedly identified himself as Raymon, Ramoni, among other fictitious names he gave, saying he was a barber and it was his first time of committing a crime.
Asked why he decided to go to the house of God to steal a motorcycle, he said, “It is because I am hungry. My job is not bringing in enough money to cater to my family members.”
Another member of the church, Sam Adebowale, said the suspect could have been lynched, but for the intervention of the church leadership.
He said, “The motorcyclists in the area were angry that while they were working hard, somebody had the boldness to steal. They had started flogging him and wanted to lynch him, but we stopped them.
“One of our church leaders, who is a senior police officer, alerted the police from the Ibafo division and they came to whisk him away.”
Adebowale, who claimed that such a thing had never happened in the church, said the church would increase security in and around its premises.
