Now, the way the media works is you give voice to both sides of the story. When I noticed that Nairaland had started pushing only one side of the story to the front page, I realised something was amiss. The moment an outfit can no longer be relied upon to dispense information without fear or favour, the moment it becomes guilty of pandering to one side, it has lost credibility and in societies where people are highly discerning and discriminating, that could spell its death. I will stop here.

JuanDeDios: So why has this been removed from the front page? This is a video from AFP made by Boko Haram making a bold CLAIM. The video is on major Nigerian TV stations.

I wonder when Nairaland started taking orders from government spokesmen and e-thugs! So what do you people hope to achieve? Suppress the video? It's already on major TV stations and is all over the Internet.

I believe the guy in the video is another fake Shekau (I have seen the videos) but the way to defeat these mass murderers is not to try to suppress the news. When you do that all it shows is that you have something to hide and that undermines your credibility. It makes Nairaland a part of "them"!

As for Shekau, I initially believed what the DHQ said earlier. But with this video, they will still have to look inwards and carry out a thorough investigation to ascertain whether he's truly the one killed, or appeared in the video.

Boko haram is the enemy of all. And the military must be supported to see to their eventual end.

Shekau, whether you are alive or dead, the fact is that nemesis will soon catch up with you and your cronies.
