With all the info I posted you should be able to deduce 1st what type of engine is in the bay.

Look for your engine number (on the engine)

Compare with all the pics I have posted or post the info here.

Meanwhile , if you do have a wrong engine installed and you are in Lagos contact me for the right one. Or better still we could transfer all the innards of you block engine into the right one (if you are up to the task) read more complain less, respond properly.

Oga even though you are Nicola Tesla show some respect. Do you expect me to have the engine brought down because I want to access engine codes? How many people here can provide engine codes aside those with mechanic skills.

My question was simple: can the CRV engine be reconstructed to sit in place of the EOD engine? then you went on spilling. If it can what are the long-term consequences? I don't think these are questions too difficult for a right person with the right mind to respond to.

Please concerned mechanics help me with the above issues jare.

I started this thread to seek help for my car but the heavyweights have taken over. It is now where experts discuss versions of car engines.

What can I do to get the CRV engine in my EOD fitted properly and likely consequences?

Non for now except that the engine isn't sitting properly. Which is part of the reasons why I had it brought down then we discovered its CRV in an EOD. Please I need your advice.

Mayor here is the engine number. It's one of the k series of engine. can't lay my hands on the engine codes for now.

I will send the codes shortly. My mechanic is proposing we reconstruct the bolt fittings at ladipo. He said there won't be issues but mechanics can't be trusted.

There might not be any difference but am sure engine wouldn't sit well in engine bay. Take a look at your front engine mount. The bolts that would be used to hold the engine mount to the engine won't fit in properly. Spotted one recently and it wasn't funny at all Honda Accord 2005 engine inside a Honda Accord 2007. Engine was running smooth but whenever the owner speeds and wants to brake down the engine and transmission suspends itself thereby making serious vibrations all over. Front mount never fit. We had to tell owner there was nothing we could do but he insisted we had it fixed. We later settled for reconstruction for the engine mount to fit properly

mayor what does a novice like me know about these technicalities? I saw the car having the same EOD regular engine. My mechanics certified them OK after test driving. what else was I suppose to do? What do you advise I do sir

Did u buy it fairly used or toks? Even if u confirm dat it's a fraud, will u return it? Next time conduct ur due diligence b4 committing ur funds. Just relax & enjoy ur car. I ve seen EOD model with 4 cylinders & it's physically similar to the engine in CRV. I think some carry similar engine depending on the country of origin. I guess they are interchangeable. I don't think there's any problem. Relax

I think I may have fallen victim of a dubious transaction. I bought a Honda accord 2005 (EOD) and went for usual servicing only for my mechanic to tell me its a CRV engine with an EOD casing.

This is definitely fraud. please I need experts to tell me what I'm up against. What are the consequences of this on the vehicle and gear system. Thank you.

Which more responses again kwa, if you wan buy car then just go ahead and buy it na, else move on. That car is neat, just that the dealer lied about the year model, probably just bought rear lights and headlamps

Is it possible for a vehicle to be overhauled to this level of internal neatness?

Here are the pictures. Like I said the once on Youtube have those steering controls but this does not. I dont want to be sold a badly worked car.

LOL. I don't know the op, neither do I know the car he's trying to buy. But ur assumptions are too vague. What is missing in the car? Steering wheel controls that is not standard on all models, only standard on XLE models? Didn't the op state the car is LE. Some people sef.

below is a typical 2002- 05 camry LE, show me the steering wheel controls, or u will say run for ur life for anyone that wants to buy this. Mtcheeew.

I have been on you tube all day. Every of the Camry 2005 LE editions come with the controls.

My fear is that vehicle may have been thoroughly overhauled only for it to spring surprises later.

I am planning on buying a camry 2005 Le ( Bigdaddy) from an OLX dealer. These are my observations:

1. The engine has been changed since march and mileage is 87,000
2. The audio and cruise controls are absent on steering wheel
3. The car looks really clean because it has been baked and painted.

What do you think. Please what features am I suppose to look out for in the 2005 camry?

Going price 1M.
