Dakota is average,that's me being generous,the only thing she's known for is 50 shades of grey which is a bad movie itself.
Seeing how Sony handled Venom,one can easily tell how bad this movie will be,Tom Hardy is the only reason Venom is even watchable and Dakota doesn't have acting range on that level.

Madame Web is older in the comics but casting a younger person doesn't really mean anything and I think a younger version of the character exists anyway...Dakota is a decent actress...
The fact Web isn't a hero is the exact reason it works..They don't have to be pigeonholed into the Hero saves the day Cliche...Web is a psychic medium and this could open up to multi Spider verse characters...
