Romance / Re: "I Dated Her For 8 Years, Never Had Sex With Her, After Her MSc, She Dumped Me" by Mmmy(f): 7:04pm On Jan 13, 2018
OK, while i doubt the validity of this story, using the info given, my thoughts are so.

Firstly, the " I never had sex with her" proclamation like we should celebrate him, please have several seats. He has no right over her, ordinary boyfriend. angry sad

1) This was obviously a young love story, started dating the girl when she was finishing secondary school, so from my experience the girl was about 16 yrs old. According to you they started off in love probably the girl's first love and she was proudly identifying as his "bae" while he showered her with attention which she probably had not received before but i'm guessing that at some point, as she grew up and got exposed especially in her university days, her opinion changed and he probably seemed clingy at some point, (always around like he had no friends). 8 years later, she is currently about 24 which is not that old. It happens quite often, your first love is not always your last and you cannot force a 24yr old girl to be with you forever.

2) While i sympathise with your friend as it is obvious he was in love, i am sorry to say this but a major problem seems to be that your Mr I is not financially responsible and seems to have a warped sense of what a boyfriend does. I assume even though he was older, it was his first love too.
Visiting your gf once a month, ok.
Travelling 8 hours every weekend to visit her, ridiculous.

theinfong:
[b] He took it upon himself to bring provisions and money two weekends out of four, monthly

He took it upon himself, meaning no body sent him, infact the girl was in a private university so i assume her parents give her enough to take care of herself. So claiming he took care of her makes it seem like she depended on him when infact, he was voluntarily giving her extra stuff while he himself was "usually broke and soaking garri".

The 50% salary and borrowing 650 thousand for party, ordinary party (small chops, drinks, cake not even 50k) i will refrain from talking about cos i don't want this to regress into what might seem like insults.

Again, this seems like an unfortunate turn to the common first love scenario where children grow up and go their separate ways especially when school starts. I might sound salty because i just can't believe what i am reading but if this actually happened, i sincerely sympathise with your friend's resulting mental state but permit me to say that you cannot stop a 16yr old from growing up.

Please, considering the rate at which people are losing 9-5 jobs, banning alternatives where people struggle saddens me.

I hope the state has plans to provide alternative employment as desperate people do desperate things.

However i applaud the sanitary initiative and hope it is implemented successfully.

You have made a vital point sis, the whites may have in the past contributed to our misery but we are not talking about white[s] here we are talking about Donald Trump he is neighter Xion nor Harold wilson. For how long are we going to keep pointing fingers at who made and who didnt make us the way we are? Is it not long overtime for us to start fixing ourselves? Ufodu ka awusa mere igbo ufodu ka igbo mere onwe ha.

I completely understand your sentiment and LORD knows that at this point, we can't depend on anyone but ourselves to fix anything for us. However, i would feel the same way even if it was the Ghanian president that Nigeria a shithole. A native can use such derogatory term, an outsider should not.

They are allowed and even invited to criticise our abysmal structures (governmental, societal etc) but to use the term shithole is too far.
Do you get what i mean?

The man said the truth no need to be political correct here please... Africa is a shithole continent... Fact!!!!
This one pain them wella

You know how you can call your sibling the greatest idiot (and i do) but a random stranger cannot try it in your presence or how black people can say certain things that white people cannot?

For me personally, this is that. I am allowed to say what he said because it is my country, but a stranger from another land who knows nothing about us and whose country has, in the past or present, contributed to our current situation, they are not allowed to say such.

Hypocritical? ABSOLUTELY but thats how it works

Politics / Re: Senator Dino Melaye Celebrates Son's Birthday With This Picture by Mmmy(f): 4:10pm On Jan 13, 2018
It saddens me to see everyone projecting their dissatisfaction unto an innocent boy.
Does his father suck? Absolutely
But the boy has yet to do any thing wrong so already calling him a thief and mad is childish and unnecessary.

He is allowed to be dark in complexion
He is allowed to be heavy
He is allowed to be playful
He is not the first child to do all these things, rich or poor

If it pains you so much, please take affirmative action towards attempting to remove his father from office (this is 9ja afterall) or letting him know your discontent rather than the young boy.

Woooooow, it's interesting how everyone has already blamed the woman for being at fault when we were told absolutely nothing about their marriage. Tells a lot about the individuals commenting.
Romance / Re: Men Beware, Your Wife Can Kill You If She Is Cheating On You by Mmmy(f): 2:27am On Nov 05, 2017
This has to be the single dumbest thing i have ever read in my life and one of the compounding reasons i probably will not marry a Nigerian man. The effrontery, pretence and downright insult on women especially the first paragraph which baselessly and cruelly states that only an unfaithful woman can divorce her husband who cheats on her but a "faithful wife" should just take it until her starts physically beating her. I highly doubt you are a psychologist and if you are, please resign as you obviously have extreme biases. Cheating breaks trust and without trust, the marriage could crumble and is enough reason for a divorce.

But they brought those out by themselves. Did you read that the priest invade their properties?

I'm sorry but i don't see where it states who brought it but i am commenting on the complaints of the traditionalist which is what the post is about.
If you find where they clarified, please let me know.
Thank you.
Religion / Re: Pastor Destroyed 'Fetish' Items In Anambra, Traditionalist Reacts (Photos) by Mmmy(f): 2:47pm On Jan 06, 2017
At the risk of being attacked by hardcore christians who dine regularly with Christ himself, please consider this.

Not minding how incoherent the write-up is, if the traditional worshippers actually kept their shrines ON THEIR PROPERTY, no one has the right to go destroying it. They have freedom of religion and no matter how much you don't agree with it, it's none of your business.

Thats like them going to your house, taking your bible and rosary and burning it because they don't believe in it.

Romance / Re: She Goes Through My Phone When I Sleep, Now See What She Caused. Advice Pls by Mmmy(f): 10:37pm On Dec 20, 2016
Initially, when reading this, i feel sorry for you.
Towards the end, with the other woman and #100,000, i'm a bit more conscious.

Finally after reading a few comments, i realised that your story is too negative for someone who has been in a relationship for 5 years: saying the only two positives you can identify are her teaching skills and that she cares for her child.

It seems like you've already made up your mind and have written a biased story solely blaming the woman just to have some justification.
I can not take sides without hearing the other side and what made her how she is now but all i can say is to end it for both your sakes.
If you can no longer find any positives in her, it would not be fair to keep her at the side while you chat up more, as you said "humble, submissive, jovial etc." women.

Nairaland / General / Dissertation Help!!: Project Data In Nigeria by Mmmy(f): 1:17pm On Nov 01, 2016
Hello everyone,

Using my first post to know where i can find data and records of project in Nigeria
Development projects to be precise (State or Country).

I am not in Nigeria at the moment as i'm studying my Masters outside and am considering
the critical analysis of Project Success in Nigeria as a dissertation topic. Is there an online
database or do i have to return home for this.

Also, is there a place (blog) where i can contact Project Managers in Nigeria in the event that
i would want to interview/survey them?

Thank you.

Actually, I'm an engineer. I planned on being an engineer since i was a kid, same way my sister choose medicine when she was a kid. I think if thats what you want, gender has nothing to do with it, as for your Maths theory of women being scared, thats hogwash i dominated Maths and TD and most of the boys in the class were behind me so there!!

Such a pitiable situation. And the useless FG that's suppose to protect lives and properties have completely abandoned these people to their fate.

What baffles me is that there has been no word from Aso Rock, although no life should be ignored, it's not like the casualties are 2 or 3, they keep increasing in the tens weekly.
The worse is that no one seems to be challenging or asking the presidency questions, taking into account that our Nigerian media are next to useless, when i read about the recent Al Jazeera interview the first thing i looked for was a question on the topic but alas, there was none.

Hmm Nigeria, making me sound like a 50year old man since i was 13. undecided undecided

So this is my first post on this site after monitoring it for 6 months, I never had any intention of joining it as it was a bit too hate filled for my liking but for this thread and others like it, i had to join to say something.

Everyone is calling the Benue people and others like them cowards but the truth is these people (herdsmen) are surprisingly well armed and it's not like they send an advance notice detailing their arrival, accommodation and plans. Other attacks have brought about details like being ambushed from the bushes.

All i'm saying is that as frustrating as it is for us hearing this news over and over again, we should remember that there's not a lot our older people in the villages can do when you're shot with GUNS in an effort to go pick up your STICKS and CUTLASSES.
