THE Director-Genral of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Maharazu Tsiga, has assured that the Federal Government will look into better welfare and security for corps members posted to various states of the country.

The NYSC boss, speaking with journalists after the opening ceremony of the NYSC 2010 Batch “B” pre-orientation course workshop which was held on Wednesday at Maiduguri International Hotel, Borno State, on the need for increase in corps members allowances, assured that whatever he took to the president, in terms of welfare and security, would be looked into.

“When I observed this issue of welfare particularly, I wrote a letter to Salary and Wages Commission. I wrote a letter to them and not only the letter, I recommended that corps members’ allowances should be looked at, as Grade Level 7, Step 1, which is equivalent to about N28,000 to N29,000.

“I am assuring you that by the special grace of God, as the federal workers are getting increase in their salaries and allowances, the corps members are also going to gain more than even the workers,” he said.

The state governor, Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff, also promised to improve on the welfare of corps members posted to various councils in the state.

Governor Sheriff said during his tour of the 27 local government areas of the state, he observed that corps members were doing well in their places of assignments, adding that he saw them everywhere, rendering services to the people in their locality.

The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Ambassador Baba Jidda, at the workshop,  said the corps members deserved the best in return for their service in the state.

we are about 36 staff members and with offices in Abuja and in the Eastern part of the
country.What i mean by one man business is :one man show i.e decision making.
My position in the firm brings me always in contact with him.

Please I Need Your Advise! Should I Resign?

I currently works with a building service firm in mainland Lagos, the pay i.e. monthly take home is about #50,000 and enjoys a very good relationship with my boss before now(one man business) but the relationship became sour when my boss discover that I bought a car not minding my parental help on this regards.

Even, I have been voted the best staff consecutively twice before this saga.  My major problem now is that my boss is witch-hunting  me with is attitudes in finding fault in my works. I was informed by one of his confidant that  his options include sacking me.

This attitude started recently,and am not comfortable with it. Need to say I got another offer last year with the salary N75,000 but rejected it based on smooth relationship with my boss then, (last year May)

I am considering resigning now because the situation is becoming unbearable  for me but my fear is when can I be able to secure another job?  Beside if anybody can link me up on notebook production, or liquid detergent production I will also appreciate because I have been looking towards the direction for sometimes now to make me busy for self employment while I resigned.

This is happening to a man and still went ahead with the marriage ?Then could we say of a truth that LOVE is blind or better still the people in love is blind.Well nothing is new ,something close to this happend to my close pally in which the guy confessed to me to have been fed-up after the first child due to the wife outrageous demands and going about generosity with her "THING"Even the "megaurd of their compound got his own share.The parents of both parties where aware of the case ,the husband mother knowing how close am to man accused me of not giving him advice for to do away with the wife understanding the fact that his my child hood friend.There were occasions she even lied to have gone to her relatives but only to discover that she just touring the concubines place.BUT despite all these ,i resisted advising him to take to divorce not that am not feeling for him ,but i will never advice against the teachings of GOD.Though after the second child the guy sent her packing because she would not stop, the last she did was to be pregnant for another man while still under my friend roof and still expecting to collect from the legal husband and the concubine .THE guy acted fast and got her booted out.

Fellow  naira/L  ,am not  surprised  with  the appointment  of  Dora  Akunyili as information  minister.The  placing of round peg in a square hole  is not new in our country examples include  late chief Bola  Ige as power minister and others ,another  issue i want us to consider  in  this is (juicy  positions),which  is a clear pointer  to the fact that  appointments  in Nigeria  is not  for performance  but  a  compensation  for  personal  favour  of our leaders.Better  performer  to Yaradua  from his  own perception or better  still  his advisers. This area of agriculture is getting little attention nowadays but was the most popular in the african context of agriculture in the past,yet remain very lucrative and less in risk factor,expertise services and probably less capital intensive.To engage in crop production with the mind of making high profit (large scale farming) 'YOU must consider the followings
1)Do your survey for crops that be easily marketable i.e raw materials needed in some factories.
2)Land is an important capital here.
3) Consider combinination of compatable crops
4)Make use of goverment incentives
5)Make use of good species
6)use mechanised method which is cheaper
7)Get market links
