I don't live in nigeria nor am I familiar with the growing generation of nigerians in nigeria, but the Yorubas around me are examples of success stories.

I hope others can answer your question.
Ileke, you don't get the gist, iyalode's fear I have it too, I'd like my kids to watch yoruba movies so as tto be grounded in the language like their parents...... Unfortunately, its the Oshodi area boys that have their praises sang in virtually 3 of 5 movies these days with some even giving them cameo roles....

Some youths on the other hand are budding olamide, lik kesh or reminisce with zero talents to back it up!! angry

We have a perfect mixture of the good, the bad ,the ugly & the downright horrible!!!

Hands up:

Can somebody please enlighten me the significance of the name" abule egba " and where it originated from?

I am very curious : huh huh
*From stories i can't substantiate*..The Egba merchants made it their "mid point" resting place between Isale Eko & Abeokuta on their buying & selling ventures trips...

Overtime they began to build shelters & stay for few days & it began to grow & grow & the name stayed..

@zimoni @ wytecat,

The beautiful & great thing about Yoruba is that we do not let politics spoil our omoluwabi, irrespective of our differences we are Yoruba & always without fail maintain the brotherhood...

Muslim, Christians, Aborisa, we think of ourselves as humans 1st before any other appellation....

As a Biafra supporter, I don't mind a Niger-Delta Republic. A Niger-Delta Republic and Biafra would be vet beneficial to each other and economic co-operation between each other would be wonderful. What I wonder is can Ijaws,Ogonis,Itshekiris,Urohbos,Anangs,Efiks etc who make this up, can they come together to decide on this country? There over 30 tribes in the SS, can they come together to decide on a country? I simply don't know. Another thing is what about the SS Igbos? The Delta Igbos, Ahoada Igbos, Etche Igbos, Omuma Igbos and Ikwere Igbos? Would they want to join their kith and kin in Biafra or Niger-Delta Republic? Many questions but no answers. If the SS cannot agree, then the best bet is to secede with Biafra until such a time they can agree. It is far better for all to work to leave Nigeria then decide what to do later
The bolded gat me real LOLing, before the later comes, you will be using their oyel to chow down akpu. cheesy grin..

The unfortunate thing will be that they will exchange extreme heat for HELL FIRE cos they will now be under a SINGLE majority tribe where their marginalization will win olympic gold medal.. cheesy

This is ilesa,Osun state

Rev. Williams Howard Clark in 1854, once said ”for its cleanliness, regularity in breath and width, and the straightness of its streets, the ancient city far surpasses any native town I have seen in black Africa”. Ilesa is a well-planned ancient city that has link routes that no town of its size can lay claim to in Yoruba land."

The straightness of the streets in Ilesa has no lies about it... From Roundabout North to Ilaje, South to Ayeso & East to Brewery/Omi Asoro is almost a perfect line.... Same if you go to Ijamo,Ibala Rd Etc are almost a perfect straight lines !!! Waoh, surreal.... shocked

He keeps claiming PDP will rise again in the North where Mama Piss' "born trowey" & "dead brain" has ensured they can't even produce councillors... You can't even talk about PDP without attracting raised eyebrows.

Maybe he thinks the Motorboy on the streets of Bichi will read his epistle on PDP's rebirth & join up with him to "rebuild" a party that mocked their RELIGION, CULTURE, VALUES & EMBARASSED their dearly BELOVED with that certificate scandal.

We will all by God's grace make it beyond 2019 & we will all see how to win a state where the governor is not only doing well but PDP has no grassroot presence...

That was why it was difficult for APC to win in the SS/SE, there is nothing to build on, but trust Barca to give it a spin that is out of this world.
