@Op your point is a very hard one to make. The reason is that when you were coding c++ you were coding it on top of a C engine already existing. The C is sitting right on top of a machine language. So if you really want to call yourself a 'programmer', you have to code machine language. 010010 101010 000101 0110109 Bottom line, everything in software development is a 'library'. You have to build on top of what is already existing. Even the ide you use is a code already written by someone else, if you chose to use ordinary notepad, you have not escaped the catch. Notepad is still someone else's code. Android development is a combination of lots of libraries, it doesn't mean the coders don't get to code again, they code even more now than during your time. To build a useful android app now, you have to code your ass out after importing several libraries. On the other hand, you have a point. If all someone does is import library and put together an interface, they can't call themselves a programmer. They are only cutting and joining. but what's the point of calling yourself a programmer when someone else is grabbing the money and getting your bottom employed. |

Funny life. Can't believe I said bloggers make it after ever 4 years . its now after every 2 years ![]() Learning new web technologies is a pain in the as5, the worst is that new ones are coming out each day in geometrical numbers. Nigerian clients can't pay you enough to validate the effort. imaging someone paying you 100k for an app you will build for 2 months. That 100k is a one time payment ooo. Its not recurring, which means, your efforts on the app doesn't get to pay again later. Every new website is a different one, requiring whole new efforts. At a point we just decided to say Bleep it and build our own intuitive blogging platform for everyone who doesn't feel blogger and WordPress cleanly cut their needs Braintem.org |

Imagination is substantially different from creativity. Imagination is recreation. Creativity is work Imagination is our mind playing us a short movie. The logical consistency or rationality of the video is not being monitored , the movie is just playing and we are watching it. It might be completely illogical, stupid and way out of this world. But creativity on the other hand is our mind trying to resolve a solution by trying to rationally predict the problem and the corresponding solution. The mind makes several different guesses. It tests for logical consistency for each of its informed guesses. Because our minds work with images, we see the movie in our head for each of the problem. Creativity is work, it shows on the face of a person trying to be creative. Imagination is a form of recreation, the mind's way of trying to kill boredom. It attempts to trigger several refreshing emotions by playing us a self made movie. Or keeping us deeply engaged by replaying a traumatic incident and modify the endings. Both imagination and creativity make use of our memory. They both cannot work without the information stored in memory. How they use the memory differently. Imagination is essentially a movie but creativity is work. But imagination is limitless, that's why it is about the most powerful tool available to a genius. Creativity in itself is restricted to lessons from the mind's past experience. During creativity the mind tries to apply these lessons or a combination of them to solve a new problem. Imagination is the portion of the mind that replicates and actually beats the universe. There in your imagination, you can create and destroy anything, do anything, be anything and anywhere. Right there, you can travel back and forth in time, recreate past events and give them alternate endings. Its just amazing. Imagination is where we really are in the image of God. Computers of today can't imagine, but somehow, I imagine it can be done. Imagination never have to be logical, realistic, limited or possible. Those are boundaries that render this realm impotent. Imagination takes you to a new world where you are God, your spirit will over your waters there and you will create your light as you want. Things are usually invented by fools who never knew it was impossible, because they had the power of imagination. People are usually more creative when they do not know where the limits are, their minds does all the creativity it can then complements it with a little bit of imagination. When the Brain tries to solve a problem using creativity and fails, it starts listening for input from different sources. It can listen for days or years for the input that will help it model a complete solution to the problem. One of the key places it listens to is the imagination unit of the mind. The imagination unit keeps dreaming up crazy things all through our lives, sometimes it accidentally dreams up something useful, something the creative unit has been waiting for. Knowing when to use each of these and being conscious of which one to use at any given time is key to being a genius. Both demands that the memory have substantial data saved in it. There fore, the thing that differentiates genius from most people is the fact that they know so much about one thing. They have all round experience in one thing. Finally, here is a quote by Albert Einstein, "Knowledge can take you from A to B, Imagination can take you anywhere" In conclusion, if you want to be a genius, 1. You must gain a lot of experience 2. Beyond creativity you must learn to let your imagination loose and let it go. It might just solve a problem you aren't expecting. Go my friend, be great. If the human mind is presented with a problem it cannot solve, it first attempts to go over it using all possible configuration of solutions available to it. After looping through and hitting reject state several times the person's anger or frustration emotion is triggered. To satisfy that emotion they have to kill its source which is to quit attempting to solve the problem. Which means there is a timer that monitors how long we spend on any problem. The human mind does not just discard problems, it dumps the problem in memory with a certain configuration. The configurations are something like 1. Unsolvable and irrelevant 2. Unsolvable at the moment As you can see, the mind decides which of these memory folders to dump the problem in by checking their relevance. To check the relevance of a problem, the mind compares the effect of its solution to the situation at hand, then compares the situation to a larger and more situation. This means, the human mind also has a relevance function tuple apart from the time tuple. If the problem is saved as 'unsolvable at the moment', our subconscious will keep checking back at the problem when we are idle. It tries to use all tools available to it to attack the problem, such as trying different combinations of past solutions to similar problems, imagination, creating a worry emotion so we can go seek external help for the problem. An external help could be going to the library to read things up or asking someone for help and so on. It loops through the memory's list of unsolved problems and repeats this process. Its the mind's subconscious, like a background process you wont easily notice there is work going on as you live your normal life. Its constantly on the alert for the final bit of information that will complete the model of any of the solutions its proposing - and lead it to accept state. Soon as Archimedes sinks into the bathtub, bang! One of his mental models hits accept state! His happy emotion is triggered and dude runs out of the bathroom naked and screaming Eureka! In summary, unlike crippled computers, our minds use tuples such as time, relevance and emotions to keep a check on how long we spend on each problem and how to solve them. Dear friend, when next you encounter a difficult problem, be careful how you discard it, there is a painless and powerful engine up stairs that can solve it while you sleep. May you find the Eureka moment that will change your life today. God tells Abraham to kill his son - Epic! Our forefathers sacrifice twins - idolatry, evil and barbaric! Jephthah kills thousands of people in the battle field then comes back to kill his daughter as a sacrifice to the Lord again - Epic! Our forefathers sacrificed albinos - idolatry, evil and barbaric! Stop treating our forefathers' evil acts differently from other barbaric forefathers around the world. what is evil is evil. There are two units of our minds that are constantly at war with each other. Each battles to render the other impotent. This continues through out our lives. They are our rational or logical unit and religious or God units. Our rational unit tries to explain and understand things logically. It protects us from doing things that are illogical or irrational eg. Shooting our selves in the head. while Our religious unit accepts instructions the way they are - by faith. It encourages us to do things that defy reason and 'common sense'. Eg. Killing ourselves to go to heaven or donating our life savings to the poor. The problem is, as you can see, they are directly against each other. The more of your rational unit you use, the less of your religious unit you use. And vice versa. Its either an action you are INSTRUCTED to perform is rational or its irrational. At every point in time, you always have to choose the unit to obey. For instance, if a soldier in the battle field is ordered to run into the enemy machine gun direction. It defies reason, but he does it because, during training they have forcefully etched it into his mind to process any instructions from his commanding officer using his God unit. That's why you see hundreds of soldiers run into a massacre just because of an instruction. At that point, their commanding officer becomes their God, so they are literarily obeying God, no need to question anything. These two units know they are at war so they are constantly fighting against each other. With every instruction added to your religious or god unit, you are warned not to allow common sense or logic to override it. For instance, remember these famous words "whatever you place above God in your heart become your God"? Every instruction in our God unit comes with a warning. The reason is because, our rational unit is constantly improving itself as we go through life. It learns from experiences, studies and memory. So over time it gains enough experience to override one more instruction in the religious unit. For instance, a soldier may no longer obey that 'attack' instruction if he comes to understand that his commanding officer has an ulterior motive for the war. He will no longer takes his commanding officer as God. One way the the religious unit attempts to combat this progressive rediscovery is by constantly repeating it's instructions with their warnings against logic to the person. That's why soldiers are not allowed to travel home forever after training. They have to live in the barracks and those instructions are constantly repeated to them. How often? Everyday! That's why we go to church everyday and are encouraged to join another church if we get to travel. So if a Preacher wants to make people do something that defies reason, what does he do? He does or shows them something that counters their logic then asks them to surrender to their religious unit. Eg. Heal, appear to heal or show them the healing of a crippled man. Then he can ask them to do anything and they will take in his instruction into their God unit...you know the rest. Another way that this happens is during forceful brainwashing, for instance, in the case of child soldier recruitment. A child is snatched from his parents, then they try to counter his logic and understanding of how things should work by doing several things: 1. Give him a gun and forced to shoot his parents 2. Treat him harshly to show him their is no hope 3. Then make him believe he is fighting for a cause...and fill the rest of his religious unit with all the other instructions they wish. Note that, this write up is not against any religion or going to church, just pointing out how the human brain works. *sorry for typo Dave Ozoalor @Daveozoalor http://facebook.com/daveozoalor http://twitter.com/daveozoalor http://braintem.org |
Our root user or admin as humans is sitting right on top of all our decision making paraphernalia. If a human is reduced to his lowest term or stripped down to the barest minimum intelligent component, the person is that part of their mind that makes the final decision on what to do. When we think about what best action to take in a particular situation, we are making use of our mind's different decision making apparatus. However, we are not this apparatus, we are the judge on top of them all who will eventually make this decision. For the purpose of this write up and lack of a better name, I will call this unit of our mind the Judgement unit. The primary function of the judgment unit is to make decisions based on available reports from our judgement apparatus. Even natural language recognises this. For instance, if a person says 'my conscience is judging me'. Contrary to what many people think, we are not this conscience, rather, we are the one who is being judged. The conscience is just a decision making apparatus , that is, an input device to our judgment unit(), that has reanalyzed the situation and telling us that we have made a bad decision as in the example above. This judgment unit of our mind does not do anything but make decisions. It contains nothing else. It does not even have memory, memory is just one of the components of its decision making apparatus, a virtual input device too. If this top most component of our mind is separated from its decision making apparatus, it will be paralysed completely. In that case, we can say that the person is in coma. If its disconnected from only one of its decision making components such as emotion, we can say that the person is emotionally handicapped. Hence, they cannot take balanced decisions, since all their decisions will be emotionally handicapped. Thing else can communicate to this unit except the components of its judgment apparatus. For instance if a person says 'God told me to go to X place'. The 'Me' there does not represent this unit. The information the person received from God did not come in into this unit, it came in through an input device we may call dream or imagination, logical prediction or whatever, but you get the drill. Our judgement unit takes the information from that input device and decides what to do what we should do - to obey or not. This small top most unit of the human mind is where the last stage of consciousness lies. This unit never goes to sleep until we die. It stays awake all day and all night through the years, receiving information and analysing them. When we are asleep, it decides when we should turn or adjust. When we are bored, it decides what we should do. It decides if we should help the poor or not, save the sick and needy, pray, work, fight, run, do good or do evil and so on. If we God is going to judge us, this is what will get judged. If there is a soul, this is it. Fortunately or unfortunately, according to this my theory, animals have this unit too. For those who believe in reincarnation, this theory explains why people forget everything about their past lives after reincarnation - the judgement unit has no memory as explained earlier. For those who believe in evil/good spirit possession, this is the part of the mind that gets possessed and influenced to make wrong or right decisions. When a person run's mad, this is the part of the mind that's most likely in trouble. Another cause of madness could be if one of its input devices is feeding it with consistently wrong values. Whatever your case may be my friend, know thyself. Thanks. Dave Ozoalor @daveozoalor http://Facebook.com/daveozoalor Twitter.com/daveozoalor http://Braintem.org *pls forgive my typo, if u can

God talks to us every time, the problem is that, we are too noisy. We don't spend time alone. We try to commit it to memory and not write it down. Yes, the human mind is so powerful, but it lacks good memory. Many times, we do write them down but do not pursue them immediately because we are too selfish trying to learn everything in the world, eat, travel, pray, exercise and so on. God creates in our minds every time. We receive these massages as short quick flashes of genius ideas every now and then in the day. These ideas contain messages on how we can contribute to making the world a better place. Humans are improving life on earth and God gives just about everybody the chance to contribute their own quota. There are rewards to people who improve the earth too - they inherit it! That's by way of wealth, recognition, self satisfaction, history. Your minds are like a broadcast receiver, information about to make things better will never stop coming. It could be how to write a good song, build a better car, pray better, mathematics whatever, God continues giving you this chance everyday. Bigger ideas come to those who have gained experience in implementing smaller ones. There is usually one of such ideas that will save a whole generation. God works with his faithful servants only. When God gives a man an idea that will save his generation, if the man is too selfish to go after it, he will take it and give it to someone else. That's because, nothing can stop an idea whose time has come, nothing. Therefore getting that message from God is just a passing blessing anyone must take advantage of immediately. The messages will never stop coming to any mind that is free from bias. The value of each of these ideas depend on the experience of the soul in implementing smaller ones. God is still talking to you now, dear friend, are you listening? What will you do with this rare opportunity? On the last day you have always prayed to witness, How will you defend yourself before God and your soul for failing to follow? What will you say you were doing? . . . shhhhh listen, God is talking.... *Pls forgive my typo, if u can. Dave Ozoalor @daveOzoalor Facebook.com/daveozoalor Braintem.org |
