Share your reasons for not liking Canada

As for me, I love love Canada, its my dream home,my heaven. But many Nigerians living here do not like Canada and are usually complaining. In this post, I will highlight the reasons some Nigerians dislike living in Canada

1. Extroversion: Some people hate Canada because they are extroverts, quite understandable. There is less noises, people mind their businesses, you can't easily make friends with the opposite sex, (awon set,, bestie of life). Everyone is busy in Canada and thus extroverts do not really like it in here (They want people they will be wasting time together, lol). Extroverts derive their energy from being out meanwhile introverts derive their energy from being indoor, more like refilling a gas,one refills indoor, the other refills outdoor with friends. Alot of Nigerians are extroverts and thus, doesn't like their inability to go out and have fun in Canada

2. Canada is very cold and dark: Winter is very cold and lots of people don't like the cold weather. It also goes dark by 5:00PM which makes going out a little difficult . The coldness could lead to frostbites, a condition that can get the arm or legs forever destroyed

3. Mothers with kids: Another set of people that may not like living in Canada are mothers.

I drop my cap for mums with 2,3,4 children. It is a big job to raise children in this country. Cooking, cleaning, and going to work is not easy. In Nigeria, it is easy for you to drop your children with neighbors, have other children come play with your children and the children get occupied but here, none of that is possible.

There's no cousin, mother in law, they can spend the holiday with. You can't leave theem at home for 1sec, you can't tell a neighbor to hold their hands to school, you do all your work by yourself. I know you will think, "eehn what is there" Something is there sir/ma, during winter, you dress up for them, especially if they are below 5years old. This dressing up for them can take significant amounts of time, upto 30min per child, they will have to wear 10cloths because of the cold weather, bath them, wear socks for them etc and you will do thesame for yourself as well. This takes holy amount of time

Another reason is that most Nigerian mothers had 10maids in Nigeria..... That was a joke, but sincerely speaking, most Nigerians in Canada were doing well in Nigeria and thus, could afford maids, what I term slavery. And the maids work round the clock, but here in Canada, if you want maids, you will not only pay minimum wage but you also cannot belittle or talk to them anyhow. This makes their lazy asses to be frustrated. There is one aunty, I am praying her process should become successful, she has 3maids in Nigeria, she does absolutely nothing, but still complains she's stressed, lol. I can't wait for her to land in Canada, the suffer, she go suffer ehn.

3. Racism (Pronounced and Subtle): Racism makes some hates it here, structural barriers etc. 90% of racism in Canada is subtle, quiet, smiling which could seriously impact the of the victims
4. Bus system: The bus system is very slow, especially when you don't live in Toronto. In Nigeria, it is easy for you to pick up a bus and start moving, but here, you will have to wait in the cold weather to board a bus. This could delay your trip for upto 1hour. If you mistakenly miss a bus, then your journey is delayed for more hours.

5. Men: This is the part I love the most . In Nigeria, iphones, Cars, Jobs are what men use to entice females due to high unemployment rate in the country, many of our girls would fall for these things and agree to date them or sleep with them. But here in Canada, everyone has access to all these things, this is where equity comes in, a man has no advantage over a female, thus, females get jobs as much as men, and guess what, they can afford everything a man can afford.

Your "iphones" everyone has it, your "cars", everyone can afford one, your "designer wears", it is right in the store opposite their house, your beautiful "homes", every house is beautiful, you live in "Lekki, Banana island, Ikoyi" everywhere is developed and anyone can live anywhere, you are "well educated", school is free in Canada and you will even be paid while in school, tell me why the girls would stoop low to date you? Everyone is classy and can wear good cloths. This frustrates Nigerian men alot because they do not have access to their sexual escapedes with innocent girls anymore and might become depressed due to that

Nigerian men are sexually spoiled, and are preys to innocent girls with either bad education, parenting, religious doctrines that preaches favours, grace and thus when they meet predators, their subconscious would think, ooh, this is the grace and favor I have been praying for. In here, sleep with a girl who is not fully consensual and end your life in jail.

You can't practice all the rubbish you practice in Nigeria with girls here, sleeping with university students for grades, sleeping with under 18, or molesting females in your street, deceiving girls to sleep with them, luring a girl with money, all she has to do is report you.

In addition, many husbands in Nigeria cheats and not only go away with it but the society will still blame the innocent wife for her husband cheating, words like, you don't cook well for him, you don't give him enough sex bla bla bla but here, cheat and your wife would leave or start a divorce which could take a hit on men's mental health

You can't impregnate a lady and have them abort it, or abandon them, so many Nigerian males have a child somewhere that they will never take care of, but here, like it or leave it, you will pay for 18 good years.

your situation is unfortunate but changeable.

1. I believe that you are not married. if you have a loving and understanding spouse and children, then you should not be lonely

2. about the your savings not up tp 20k for 3 years, You need to be listening to a radio program on AM 930 (CJCA the light) called the Ramsey show.
Dave Ramsey teaches about finances and investment and his show has been a blessing to me and my wife concerning our finances.

3. I don't know if you work in a specialized field or not But I would advise you to get licenses or what they call Tickets here. this would help you get better paying jobs .
Things like the PMP certificate ,P.Eng( Engineering license) , Vet license etc. requires you to write exams which cost a lot of money and requires a lot of sacrifices but the advantages are phenomenal. besides, getting occupied with these preparation will help you pass time and you wont have time to be feeling lonely.

4. Finally. Never joke with prayer. God is the doer of wonders and only he can make all your efforts
yield good result.
I really need the PMP, though I already manage projects, but mehn, its tough because I learn while working. I really need to have Agile, Scrum and PMP knowledge, those I found are just one group and my sister keeps telling me those things are easy, I should not waste money. I'm ready to spend upto $3k for courses next year, please recommend a good company for me

Earlier this year, I went back in time to few years back when I was doing so well in Nigeria. The noises from friends and all nurtured the decision to move abroad inside of me. I became so restless till I finally leave. The first day in Canada was the day I knew this place isn't where I can be forever. Most of us would have come back before the time we had in mind except for the fact that I don't still have enough. If I want to travel to naija for vacation now, I will need up to $4k. If I take that away from my savings, I don't know how I can recover.

No one tells about the downside of this place. I feel lonely, depressed and empty most times. Because no one to talk to, just everyone in my workplace goin about their business. If I make attempt to talk to them, they just waive it with a smile. It's been 3years here and the people I still talk to on video call are friends from Nigeria. It's been 3years and my savings is still Short of $20k despite how much my friends in Nigeria do tell me how easy it is for me to make money abroad but I never tell them my situation. I can't wait to make enough and leave Canada for good. I know a lot will come at me with the usuall "come back to Nigeria na", please this is not an attempt to denigrate your abroad heaven, just for me to rant out and be fine
I understand how you feel.
This country is not for extrovert

I enjoy Canada because I'm an introvert, and I love cold weather. But I understand that someone quite opposite me would hate to live here. I am also able to live well here because im always working and doing one thing after another. I know for a fact if i don't,i might get bored as well.
You can make try and make Nigerian friends Make enough investment before you leave, it is well

But if someone buys it for you, you will jump at it and worship their feet and say all the awwws in this world, but you cannot use your money to buy it for yourself because you are broke and feel you cant spend money on yourself.

Stop being stingy to yourself. Spend money on yourself, you are worth it.
Did you see where I mentioned I can afford any type of phone including the most expensive ones? If you are broke,it doesn't mean you should lash your anger on people, your life would stich up with time, you just need to work smarter and harder and pray some more. I'm sure you will soon be able to afford a meal. Everyone had a bad period, I was in your shoes 10years ago, I could hardly afford my meals but with dedication, perseverance, hardwork, smart work, I've gotten to a beautiful level in life and I'm still going higher. May the lord be with you and make you come out of your depression

Romance / This Is The Reason I Am Not A Wife Material by ModestGal(f): 9:49pm On Nov 19, 2022
I read a post about how males like girls that are wife materials and that prompted me to write this post
I grew up in a loving family where everyone is a good cook except me including the boys
As an original Oyo girl, Right from JSS1, my parents and grandma's would tell me how a woman should know how to do housechores and cook well, since that's a way to a man's heart.
Since that time, my mum and siblings tried their best to teach me how to cook, clean,do housechores etc but unfortunately, years and years after, I am unable to learn it

I don't know how to clean or do housechores. I don't know how to do laundry as well. I can't boil ordinary water and 90% of time, when I plan to boil water to make Eba, I will burn the water. I have many younger ones that I was already10 years when they gave birth to them, now these girls usually tell me the quantity of salt to put in stew. That one is even worst, sometimes I wonder if magic is what many people use to put salt and maggi in foods because I can never learn that skill lailai.

How on earth will I know the quantity of salt to put in several sizes of stew? Most times I cook without salt and maggi because I prefer my food to be tasteless than having too much salt. So I just tell myself that, girl, you are living a healthy lifestyle, you don't need salt. Or tell myself, maggi is cancerous and I enjoy my meals unless I have someone cook for me

When it comes to taking care of home, I hate to fold and arrange cloths, so 99% of times, my room is scattered. I don't receive visitors and I usually tell people that my room is bad, but many of my friends would insist to come and once they are with me, they help me arrange my cloths

Now, shebi since men naturally like wife material, im not supposed to find husband, so since secondary school, before I became a full blown feminist, I already told my mum that she should forget mee getting married, that home skills is not for me, each time she mentioned, you will not find husband if you continue like this

But alas, na lie. I usually tell guys about myself, im very vocal and confident about my personality. I will tell men, friends or not, that I don't know how to cook, I don't know how to clean and I have anger problem, (I get angry at petty things), but most times, they wont believe me. They will come up with either im pretending not to have those skills, or they will give me excuses that its not my fault, and some will even offer to be my cook, lol.
Regarding my temper, most of these guys would offer to take me for therapy
Ands lastly,im evidently Ugly, and I will tell them that, im also ugly, we can't date, but nah, they will offer to take me to spar to treat my pimples, blackheads etcetera

So my question is where are the guys looking for wife materials? Because I have never come across any guy who wants a wife material in real life except on social media

I know girls like to compete amidst themselves of who cook the best, I seriously don't know why you girls do this because men don't care in real life. Infact, men dislike girls with those skills and I have seen many good home keeping girls that got their heart broken.
Try and give yourself class and don't cook for any one nor allow yourself clean for any guy.

As a female, we are a gift to humanity. And that's enough favor to men, the fact that we go to heaven and come back during childbirth just to bring a baby that both belongs to both of us to the world is enough favor.
As a girl, don't marry a guy that doesn't know how to cook, clean,do laundry etcetra

Right now,the reason im single is because im yet to find a guy with good cooking skills, most guys can only cook indomie. for no reason will I marry someone that wont be able to give me good foods despite me raising our kids. Please girls, stop lowering your standards, because men don't actually care. I mean men, not boys

Hi guys,

I wanna buy a new phone, but all i can think of is buy the cheapest Samsung Galaxy that would fit my need. I am buying a new phone because my Samsung has spoiled since last year, but I still use it that way. But presently, its affecting alot of things and its time for me to get a new phone. Many people can't reach my WhatsApp line and I have the habit of missing calls unworried .

My plan is to buy same phone model, but can't seem to find it. Then I saw a new one which is also good which I plan to purchase. I went online to buy and I saw a trade in of my phone that would get me a more expensive one for a cheaper price(800) which the original price is $1200.

My friend just got a new Samsung phone as well which is very slick and she has been telling me to buy it. I have 3people on my neck including my family members telling me to get a good phone.
The problem I have is, I don't know why I should buy an expensive phone, I don't know why people buy it.
I would justify the purchase of iphone due to its good Camera but I don't wanna buy iphone because I believe the company is a rip off, and I do not support ripoff companies and now the Samsung my friend got is same price with iphone 14.

I don't take pictures with phones and I don't use picture social media likewise my friends that purchased iphones and the newest Samsung, they don't use social media but still went ahead to buy expensive phone

Note*I can purchase anyphone including iphones. But I sincerely don't have justification to waste money.
So please, why do people purchase expensive phone aside the slick appearance?

Actually most of the countries have a particular number they must allow from all countries. So if the number is 3, even if you are Buhari, your visa application would be rejected. Don't feel sad, see it as a reason to work hard enough and make good money in Nigeria.

That's okay... The part about Muslims not really having money is debatable though. Over the years, I've known a lot of successful folks of Muslim heritage. Most don't brag or make a noise about the money they have.

The Houston Rockets MVP and basketball legend Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon, the Ibadan-born, Texas-based Nigerian-American Kase Lawal who is a billionaire oil and gas magnate, and much more are very wealthy. Get it? Good.

Take care.
Its just like you saying Nigerians are wealthy and citing examples of Adeleke,Adenuga,Dangote and using Banana island parties ass examples. They are truthfully rich but they are not upto 20% of Nigerians, because more than 80% of Nigerians are in abject poverty.
One thing I love about Western countries is that they work with statistics. As at this moment, statistics still show that black people are the poorest in all Western Countries and they have the highest death and Crime rates. Talkess of Black Muslims or Nigerian Muslims. Immigrants still remain the poorest.
That's what the data shows and even a blind man can easily see that

Regarding thee examples you made, in your own thinking,if I should create a group, those people would be the one in the group right? Im a realist dear, if i create a Muslim black group now,i only would have people in shelter(Somalians) in the group.
I understand you are hurt because you are a Muslim, but you need to grow out of trying to defend a group because you were naturally born in the group or because you choose the group. Muslims aren't doing WELL anywhere, its a fact. If you continue to deny the truth, you will not grow
Personally, I don't have Muslim female friends and may never have because most of them don't have anything to offer than toxic competition, though its generally female things. Once a sister is religious, there's a high chance that the sis would be boring as hell when it comes to conversations. I'm religious but Im not boring and we still have many like myself but they are very very few because it's hard for me to find any.
Nah,I don't wanna gossip about how some people would enter hell due to their chosen way of life all day
