CarlosTheJackal:Indeed it is. You did what anybody with a conscience would have done. I have been in similar situation twice with two different so called friends. The first was when I was in the university. This friend started a relationship with a very good girl and promised her marriage. Meanwhile, he confided in me that he wasn't going to marry her because they were age mates. His plan was to dump her in final year. He kept on with the charade and ignored my severe counsel to change his mind. He eventually dumped the lady second semester final year. He practically wrecked her life; she spilled over and almost went mad. I was heartbroken myself. I severed relationship with the so called friend. Years later another friend started stringing along another good girl when he had already done introduction with another babe in Lagos. I opened up to the lady; she didn't take the news well. She accused me of not wanting her to marry my ''brother''. I guess she even went spiritual because I was seeing her in my dreams. Fast forward to about a year after, my friend dumped her. She cried her heart out. She eventually sought me out to apologise. So you did the right thing. Never allow anybody make you feel bad. |
Not at all. You are just a man trouser. |
You are one lucky person. You can start applying for jobs from Nigeria before you leave. Ask other Australian PR holders on this thread. https://www.nairaland.com/4107449/living-australia-life-australian-immigrant Also search Quora. This question has been asked and answered severally. In the end, it boils down to what you want for yourself. |
Guy, be sincere. How many bottles did you take? Have you spoken to the friend you went out with? No entry or activity at all on social media. Nobody called you. No one looked for you. I hope you know your story sounds damn incredulous. candlewax: |

mamajaz:Mama the mama. You are on all the migration fora that matter. Madam told me you be Filipino now sef. Prettysussie should ask for remark jor. She has nothing to lose. My wife's request to remark her writing came back successful. 6.5 was bumped to 7. Mine however was left at 6.5 I guess due largely to my very poor and lazy handwriting. |

Ubomm:I am not sure Ambrose Alli University is a tier 1 university. The implication is that VETASSESS would most likely recognise your degree in Economics as equivalent to Australian Associate Degree. This would land you 10 points as against 15 points for Australian degree and it would impact your assessment negatively because the educational requirement for internal audit occupation is a "full" degree. In my opinion you have no business with VETASSESS. With your ACA and CITN you however stand a good chance of getting a positive assessment if you assess as an external auditor with any of CPA AUSTRALIA, IPA and CAANZ. Both occupations are quite similar. I am pretty sure you already carry out about 70-80% of the job functions of an external auditor. All things being equal you should have a positive assessment. And you have 5 years experience in internal audit already as against 3 years in tax, which gives you a slight edge. Your Msc earns you no extra point but it could help with your assessment especially if it is in accounting and it addresses the gaps in competency areas in your undergraduate degree. |
[/quote @yummyk You could also consider the 489 Provional visa route especially the invited pathway provided your brother is willing to nominate/invite you. Read and research more on this. https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/489- Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489) Features This visa allows skilled workers to live and work in regional or low-population growth metropolitan areas of Australia for up to four years. There are three pathways to the visa: the Extended stay pathway the Invited pathway the Subsequent entry pathway This visa might lead to the permanent Skilled Regional visa (subclass 887). Eligibility You must hold a subclass 475, 487, 495 or 496 visa (Extended Stay pathway) be nominated by a state or territory government agency or be sponsored by an eligible relative (Invited pathway) be invited to apply (Invited pathway) have a relevant occupation have a suitable skills assessment for the occupation meet the points test pass mark of 60 points be under 45 years of age at time of invitation have Competent English. Length of stay Up to four years Cost From AUD 3,670 Information about the 1 July 2017 changes is available. See 1 July 2017 changes to skilled visa programmes. The Invited Pathway If you are applying via the invited pathway, submit an expression of interest (EOI) via Skillselect with details of your nominated occupation, skills and qualifications and whether you will be sponsored by a family member or wish to be nominated by an Australian state or territory. SkillSelect will estimate a points score. If you score high enough: you will be invited to apply for the visa if you are sponsored by a relative, Australian state and territory government agencies will be able to view your EOI and decide if they want to nominate you. If you are nominated, you will be invited to apply for the visa. |
yummyk:The point score for inviting auditors is currently 75. Visit link below to estimate how much points you have with your current data. You might just have a shot at 190 ITA if you have superior English and claim partner point. Are you married? Can your wife assess and have at least competent English? You are stuck with VETASSESS as a non accounting degree holder as an internal auditor. Hope your university is a tier 1? What other work experience do you have? https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/189-?modal=/visas/supporting/Pages/skilled/the-points-table.aspx |
toslad:Same here. If you see the trouble I went through to get my undergraduate syllabus. It will indeed end in praise. |
Cuetosh:Hello, VETASSESS is a no no please for internal auditor. This is because the body is quite rigid in its interpretation and application of the AQF. It recognises only five year courses as equal to Australian degree except if the Nigerian university is classified as a tier 1 university. Unfortunately Unilorin is a tier 2 university. You stand a better chance assessing as an external auditor with any of ICAA, CPA AND IPA. These bodies assess based on competency areas (about 7-9) covered by your degree. I have read that if your degree covers up to 7 of the competency areas that you stand the chance of getting a positive assessment. Your ICAN is recognised as a degree too as shared by praiseisgood and Toslad. These duo assessed with CPA and ICAA respectively. Please, read up on their posts as we have discussed these here countless times. By the way, I am better by far. You could send me a PM. Best of luck. |
I hope it is not a "hunt for the red October" situation. It is not unusual for fiction to inspire true live events. Could the sub be carrying ultra classified advanced technology? Rest in peace Tom Clancy. |

E-Family, Happy new month. Please, can I assess qualification with say IELTS Academic and submit EOI with PTE or IELTS General? Thanks |
majiouk2002:Congrats bro. May Allah's favour continue to be your portion. |
greeneophyte:Now I'm green with envy with all these grant news. Congratulations. Go excel! Uchenna, Congratulations on the ITA. God perfect it. Grant soon! |

Thanks. I have modified the misinformation regarding the 4 year wait for PR holders to get citizenship. |
Alphadoor:Hopefully oo. What stricter English language requirements can surpass what is already in place. I am not sure they know the number of times applicants write before getting "superior' English? 4 years waiting period for PR holders to get citizenship? And to cap it a test of Australian values was also part of the proposal. How would this be assessed? Competence in Aboriginal studies? God help us. |
Royal54:Congrats! Patience is a virtue. God perfect it. Bnimz, Congratulations too. Everywhere you step in Australia shall be given to you as an inheritance. I say a big thank you on your behalf to the duo of Jamson and Mctowel who received you with open arms. So much love here. |
Alphadoor:Thanks. This is shocking o We have been thinking 60 points will get ITA easily in view of the high occupational ceiling for nurses. |
Alphadoor:Hello, Please any idea on the point in use for nurses? The occupational ceiling is about 17,000. Does this mean a nurse with EOI of 60 points could be considered first before an accountant with 75 points assuming they both have the same DOE? cc Mamajaz, AussieMrs, Bellong |
mamajaz:Sister we are following you bumper to bumper. Please carry us along oo. cc AussieMrs |
Marvel1206:I think the resemblance was intentional. Those that sought to crucify Christ didn't know him. One could infer that he bore some resemblance with his inner circle/disciples. That was why Judas had to betray/identify him with a kiss. |
kclee:A friend of mine who applied for the IT Auditor role got a regret mail today from Dragnet. No reason was given. Just " we regret to inform you that we will not be processing your application further at this time". |
Mamajaz can you see this. 16,741 slots for RN and only 18 issued so far. This is your year and turn to share Timeline of breakthrough. Has AHPRA answered you? E-Fam, My wife is a nurse. At what point can I claim spousal point? Is it afree she has been licenced to practice in OZ or after AHPRA assessment. We need all the point we can get. Cc bellong |
E Family, Happy Sunday. I was informed that IELTS allows one to combine two results of the same type (academic or General Training) provided both were done not more than sixty days of each other. Please, can one use such combined result to claim point for immigration purpose? Bellong, Tyosho, Toslad, Bankole1790, TEECANN,wisemen045, praiseisgood |
Bankole1790:I can see Master Bellong has directed you to the first few pages. You will find the info there invaluable. There are some accountants, you can follow and read up their past posts for insight. Dear Toslad, TEECANN, Tyosho, praiseisgood, wisemen045 we have a new member oo. |
mamajaz:Thanks so much. She will contact you. She is on nairaland. |
mamajaz:Congrats. God will perfect it. My wife is also a nurse B. NSC, RM, RN but she is not practising per se. She has been working as a Phelbotomist in a lab for the last two years. The only real nursing practising experience she has are from her 'internship' days and one year NYSC when she worked in a Primary Health Centre. Altogether two years. We had considered the AHPRA route but couldn't get the university to write us a letter that the Nursing programme is subjected to external quality review. The calls we made on similar request to Nursing and Midwifery council also proved futile. Please, how were you able to navigate the documentation hurdle? In view of her work experience, what do you think is her chances of getting a positive assessment? I am a trying to assess as an internal auditor (about ten years experience in a financial institution). Who do you think has an easier, greater and faster prospect of getting a grant? Calling on Oga bellong and other pioneers to kindly assist with info too. |
