Please is there anything I can do about my iPhone 5. Last year, the phone started misbehaving, it would go off all by it self and turn on again. Eventually it stopped turning on and whenever I connected a charger, it prints connect to iTunes blah blah blah. I got iTunes on my system and downloaded thee software required of me to download, about 2gb in size. I followed all instructions I got from iPhone site on how to update OS with iTunes app diligently but after the whole process, it wrote that it can't be updated due to some error. I gave it to an engineer this month to fix but the. reported same issue and even ended up damaging my screen sef, it pained the more. I am still kinda hoping the phone can be fixed but I will want to know what it chances of being fixed are and what can be done about it. |

Phones / Blackberry Sues Facebook, Whatsapp And Instagram by Mogenerous(f): 2:05pm On Mar 08, 2018 |
Blackberry has sued the social media giant Facebook and its various services. Former smartphone kingpin claims that Facebook and WhatsApp use many of BBM’s features without Blackberry’s consent. YOU CAN ALSO READ: Four Xiaomi Products to Launch in Nigerian Market, Exclusively on Jumia When BlackBerry promised to focus more on software after offloading its hardware division, they clearly weren’t lying. The company is trying to reach new grounds by taking the fight to Facebook and several of its products over a number of patents. According to a filing in a Los Angeles court, it claims Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram infringed on a number of patents, with the suit coming after “years of dialogue”. It is still open to conducting business with Facebook in the future, by claiming “we continue to hold this door open to them.” Facebook Not Backing Down Facebook, for its part, is refusing to back down from its stance, with its statement saying “We intend to fight.” BlackBerry’s suit sadly reflects the current state of its messaging business. Having abandoned its efforts to innovate, BlackBerry is now looking to tax the innovation of others. The lawsuit concerns BlackBerry’s once industry-leading BBM service, which paved the way for newer services such as WhatsApp. Among the patents, it claims Facebook has borrowed “security, user interface, and functionality enhancing features that made BlackBerry’s products such a critical and commercial success in the first place.” “Infringed” Patents The patents included in the suit amount to seven. These include tagging people in photos, sending messages in batches to save energy, adding a game to the service, and even muting the message thread. If BlackBerry ends up winning the suit, it could change Facebook’s services as we know them. BlackBerry has not made a phone itself since 2016 when it decided to license its devices to China’s TCL after it decided to make yet another comeback with Android phones such as the Priv and the Leap. It is currently focused on software and intellectual property, which includes more than 40,000 patents. SOURCE: TECHMOBILENG |

Phones / Apple To Launch A Cheaper Macbook Air This Year by Mogenerous(f): 2:01pm On Mar 06, 2018 |
Over the years, Apple has been accused of things, but being “cheap” isn’t one of them. If you want to own a brand new Apple-branded laptop, then the cheapest option is the MacBook Air, which starts at $999. Beyond that there’s the MacBook and MacBook Pro starting at $1,299 each. However, the good news is we may be getting a cheaper laptop from Apple in the next few months. YOU CAN ALSO READ: SAMSUNG S9: SPECIFICATION, FEATURES AND PRICE Counting in numbers, It has been ten years since Apple first released the MacBook Air and many believe a redesign is long overdue. Apple could launch a cheaper MacBook Air this year and it might arrive as soon as next month, according to speculation. This comes from Min-Chi Kuo, an analyst from KGI Securities who has often been a solid source of Apple tips. Min-Chi Kuo is known for his accurate insights into technology firm’s future products. The analyst said that a new 13-inch version of Apple’s thin laptop, MacBook Air, could be released in the second quarter of the year 2018, that is, April through to June, ahead of Apple’s keynote launch event in September. Ming-Chi Kuo said in a note obtained by the MacRumors website on Saturday. We expect Apple to roll out the new MacBook Air with a lower price tag in 2Q18. We forecast total shipments of MacBook models will grow 10-15 percent year-on-year in 2018 (versus 0-5 percent year-on-year decline for the Notebook industry), up from 15.5-16 million units in 2017. The base $999 model includes a 13.3-inch 1,440-by-900 resolution display, a 128GB SSD, 8GB of RAM, and is powered by a dual core 1.8GHz Intel Core i5-5350U with Intel HD Graphics 6000 integrated GPU. This upgrade has been long over due as the processor is a 5th generation Intel chip first released back in early 2015. What the new Apple laptop will be packing is still very unclear as the moment but bet Apple to deliver something awesome as usual. SOURCE:TECHMOBILENG |

Hi everyone, please I need answers to some question and I am asking on behalf of a friend. He finished with his required courses last year but was surprised he name wasn't on the convocation list. After so much troubles going to find out what really could have happened at his study center, he was told to go to VI to find out. On getting there, the man there told him he has 3 courses to write, 2 of them are 200l courses that were introduced when he was in 400l, both GST courses and the last one is a core course which he wrote in 400l but he never saw the result. If only he knew this before the last semester exam was done, he would have done all the courses. He requested for statement of result sometimes in June, on getting to his study center last month, his request was granted and he was given a letter that contains approval of his request and the other two sheets contains his result. Now his concern is is it possible to be given statement of result if he hasn't been cleared yet? |

Phones / Nokia 2: A Budget Phone With A 4000mah Battery by Mogenerous(f): 4:18pm On Sep 15, 2017 |
Earlier this week, the much-anticipated budget smartphone Nokia 2 was reported to bear a 4000mAh battery inside. So far the device battery is the biggest amongst the Nokia 5, 6 and 8 models, all three have around 3,000mAh. Specs leak by the popular tipster Evan Blass @evleaks revealed a head-to-toe look of the smartphone. The reveal also shows that the device is going to have at least two color variants – Black and White. Must Read: Xiaomi Mi Note 3 Specifications, Features and Price Don’t expect the Nokia 2 to compete with flagships like the Apple iPhone X or Google Pixel. Instead, look up to specifications like that of the Lenovo Moto E4. Benchmarks in July suggest the Nokia 2 has a 5-inch HD (1,280 x 720 pixels) screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 or Snapdragon 212 processor paired with 1GB of RAM,8GB of internal storage and software based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Not much has been revealed yet but the Nokia 2 appears to have a single front camera, a vertically oriented rear camera and flash. It also comes with a tiny back-firing loudspeaker in the lower left corner. The Nokia 2 will cost about between N35,000 and N45,000 when available in Nigeria.
