Hello everyone, I'm new here and I must say you guys are doing an amazing job with all the info here .However i have few questions

1. Do I have to go for the exact course I studied for first degree when applying for masters ?
2. If the answer to 1 above is NO, how can I go about it ? is there something like a PGD that I can do ?
3. Also, what are the universities that are highly recommended for Nigerian students ?

The generals can do anything to get millions of dollars to their pockets.

Remember, during jonathan presidency the generals were so much concerned only about sharing money to the extent that many soldiers deserted the army because the military was not ready to fight bokos. Even there were not enough bullets.

Presently, many soldiers have started deserting the army because of unseriousness of their generals.

the level of corruption in the army ehn is another story entirely and their own is even worse because their subordinates cannot challenge them since what they only know is
“ obey the last command “ .

To be fair. Even we ordinary Nigerians, during NYSC, everyone wants to relocate to their house. We are even willing to pay some bribe. Davido only showed up in camp for about a few hours. Nigerians too need to do better

thats because the scheme has lost its value, if it’s a sane economy that won’t ever happen

Why should I stay in place where I will be uncomfortable when I know the children of the people who put the scheme together are in their fathers mansions ?

Do you think people will relocate If resources are almost evenly distributed across all states
Or if I have the child of the minister of the state going through whatever I am going through

If that was the case, redeploying will not even be an option.

Please how did this redeployment thing start,

why does a full grown adult need to be threatened to do his job. Was he threatened to take up the role, or to contest or collect salary. Anyone who falls short should be dismissed .

I ask that question a lot too , when I think of the fact that some of these people have their personal businesses. But when it comes to public office, they just do anyhow and no one holds them responsible

I once read of a country, (can’t remember which exactly but it’s an Asian country) where all male children at a particular age must serve in the army for at least a year, it is a MUST
That decision was born out of a particular need of that country and it’s has worked for them

It worked because no one was ever exempted, irrespective of your social status.

That policy is kind of similar to our NYSC but when we have decided to comprise we lost the value in ours

have you ever met anyone where your served ( If you have) or do you know anyone that has ever met any of their children in camp?

Even if they did , they will just sign in and out so they can collect the certificate.

Do you ever think they will go through that 1 year struggle??

In a country where we have different rules for citizens of different status, there can’t be effectiveness.


Effectiveness comes when what’s good for the goose is also good for the gander . Then no one is feeling entitled
