HealthRe: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by mom2015: 11:14am On Jun 11, 2016
Well for the full gist, I saw my period on the 15th of May and I had a feeling that I will get pregnant like God breathed into me. It was so strong that I was very sure I'll get preggy. I have a 14month old baby who I am currently breastfeeding. I had her after TTC for 4yrs. So u know, I wasn't too sure how this one would be. I was really anxious that I maybe wrong plus that was my first period after over 1 year (my last period was wen I gave birth)
So I looked for this forum and joined again, I asked some questions , looked at ur success stories and I just commenced the same old treatment I had for my last baby ( my doctor is an Indian and she had travelled back to her country - her name is Dr Rupali, first consultant hospital) I didn't have anyone to assist each with the treatment plan so I just kept on with my faith. I still remember the drugs she gave me so I followed that routine which goes thus ;

Clomid 100mg on day 3 of my period
Then I did a follicular scan at Mecure on day 11 and my follicule was 20mm - the sonographer said I should see a doctor ( at this point, I was almost positive I would get pregnant- like I said I just felt Gos was with me)
Then I saw a gynecologist the following day at gold cross hospital IKOYI and he said I should use HCG Inj 5000iu dat same day which I did.
I had sex on day 12(because my follicule was big), day 13, day 14, 15 and 17 (pls note my menstru cycle is a long one 30-40days)
And I started dusphaston and folic acid on day 12 and I'm still presently on it.
I did a pregnancy test at home 14days post hcg injection (post ovulation) which was also the day I was supposed to see d gynecologist and its positive.

I believe it was God cos I have had 2 sessions of IVf which didn't work, done series of investigations and nothing happened.

Plus during that period I was really prayerful (I still am) and I just had that feeling that 'twas my time. I had no one to assist me but God.

So sisters , I am sure (I still have that feeling) that it's your time and God has sent me to I all not to loose faith in him.

Try whatever u feel would work for u or better still, use what I wrote here 3 times (Dats for 3cycles) I am sure it will work if u believe in God.
For those that have high prolactin levels, use d drugs for reducing prolactin level and commence this treatment.
For those with lows perm count or poor functional sperm - ucan use proviron 1 daily for 1month. Ucan tell ur husbands to start now pending the time u see ur period.

Most of all, pls pray and pray to God (I remember I cried bitterly severally and I still do for u guys while praying)

During sexual intercourse I used doggy style- I made sure I had urinated and I didn't get up from d bed till d next morning. (The sperm will get into the Fallopian tubes faster with doggy and it will not come out)
I prayed to God before, during and after the intercourse with my husband

Reduce the stress, pray and forget about the worries and put ur TRUST in GOD.

I hope this helps.

God bless us all with the fruit of the womb and AMEN for the prayers and support.

I love u my e-family but God loves u guys more smiley

Dear moms,
I had my miracle positive pregnancy test on Thursday. I used clomid, follicular scan, hcg, duphaston and folic acid. I want to use this opportunity to pray for everyone. Almighty Allah said in the Quran dat when we are happy, we shud use the opportunity to ask for more and HE will grant us. Looking at the fact that I got pregnant during the month of Ramadan, I want to use this opportunity to pray for all mamas reading this piece that This month, miracles of positive PT will come their way. God will visit u all in ur homes and remind u that HE alone is to be worshipped. He will grant us all unexplainable happiness and bless us all with wonderful children.

I want u all to be happy for I am very sure in my heart that ur time for miracles is near.

If u want more info on how I achieved this, u can pm me. And InshaAllah, I'll do my best to give out the information I have.

Most importantly, my sisters, ask God to direct ur heart to the treatment that works.
HealthRe: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by mom2015: 11:45pm On May 22, 2016
Good evening moms to be, I had a precious baby in 2015 and I'm planning on having another child soon. I just thought I should check on here and as usual found out this thread still exists and there are tons of interesting information. Sorry to take u back, I will like to get some information on what is working for the pregnant mums lately. I saw vitex, omega 3,6,9 etc. it's a bit confusing so I thought I should ask the question straight out before I get it all moduled up.

I haven't seen my period after I gave birth to my baby so what prompted me to start again is cos I saw my period and I have a strong feeling I can get preggy any time soon if I do the right things. So I started myself on Clomid, 100mg, and just completed it on Saturday asides that, I have done nothing except to commence HCG INJ on my day 12-15 and probably get a booster dose. These are based on my doctors suggestions.

Any helpful information will be highly appreciated.

Please for us all, I will like us to do something that really helped me. They include
- pray, pray , pray
- stop being anxious ( this releases hormornes that prevents pregnancy eg adrenaline etc which makes us find it even more difficult to conceive, since we have prayed to God, let HIM take over . We should leave all our worries to him) this causes more harm than good even though I know it's not easy
- get a help, stop doing the house chores ( most of us here have one issues or the other when it comes to conceiving and as we all know, physical work can actually hinder pregnancy due to stress or even more prevent implantation or cause abortion) this dose t mean we are lazy.
- loose weight
- be happy
- consult ur doctor and use ur meds diligently
- ure preggy grin

Will be expecting ur advice moms.

Wish us all a preggy filled June.

It will end in praise INSHA ALLAH

justwise:
No visa wasn't granted to you based on that 250k because that is not even enough for flight ticket let alone hospital bills.
Yes I know, but my history stated otherwise, he checked my statement of account to see what goes in and comes out and trust me, it's a whole lot. Also my job and that of my husband also showed that we can afford the bills. So it dosent necessarily have to be an account balance of 3.5m when ur annual salary dosent correspond with the balance.
They actually look beyond dat as well.i saw him check at least 3months prior to my balance and he kept nodding his head.
That's my own opinion...everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion.
I'm only sharing cos I know it might be useful to someone else on dis forum.

And you know there are many silent readers, so we don't even know the impact of the recycled hospitals on the VOs, they may be seeing it more often than we even think it is being used.

But the problem is these Yankee hospitals don't give appointments, they prefer to have you come in in person, so it is harder getting documents for visa application from other hospitals / Docs than the ones often advised on this forums.
Truth be told my sister, i didnt have any appointment to present based on the reasons u stated above, they all insisted on seeing me in person. I even went as far as linked in to look for a Dr, i sent her a mail and she responded stating dat I shud call her secretary.
I printed the mail out and showed d VO. Like the lady rightly said, he didn't look up so I made sure he treated my case in an holistic manner and not just as *another applicant*. I kept asking "do u understand " "excuse me" Just for him to look up.
But I guess d letter I printed out made him understand my plight because he was sarcastic at the initial stage of the interview. My delivery estimate was also very prepared by me based on the info I got on the phone which I explained to him. And underneath my bill estimate, I wrote that all my bills will be paid in cash and I will not receive medicaid. I think they are getting tired of hearing the same old story.
All in all, God's favor is the ultimate. They still get to decide.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by mom2015: 11:31am On Mar 27, 2015
smileymum:
The lady didn't know about the part payment cos she didnt even look at any correspondence between me and the doctor. The payment I made wasn't for any service. It is pre-requisite for getting a letter of medical responsibility and appointment from the doc. If I will be applying again, I intend to move all the funds into our joint account so that i dont present too many statements. Our joint monthly salary is about 1m. I wonder why they do not take that into consideration. What happened to us having steady jobs that can provide funds at the end of the month to foot any bills. I just think the lady didnt made up her mind not to give me the visa tho.
She's a saddist like I said. In fact u even sounded confident,so I'm still wondering about what went wrong. That means all u need to do is to try again and I'm sure with phemas burden of prove and a simple history, u shud be granted a visa by Gods grace.
Pls don't feel dejected, everything happens for a reason. Just do ur due diligence and pray, pray and pray.

Mum2bee:
I agree with most of what you said, but I don't think the payment was the issue. 2 years ago I applied for a visa at 7 months and I had paid all the bills (ie hospital and physician) and I could see that the VO was desperately trying to figure out through my statements if I could pay, when I told him I had made full payments and showed him my letters he didn't bother checking any other statement. I think she was just very unlucky that day cos I don't see anything that she did wrong.
True. I guess I'm wrong on that part, I was just trying to give it a thorough scrutiny and based on the reviews I got by people close to me when I was applying, i tot dat might affected her even though I believe the VO was just a saddist.
I'm also thinking out loud here abeg new mamas, maybe we shud start looking for new hospitals for delivery, looks like these people are getting tired of seeing the same letter all d time ( if we remember the Dr paretis issue)....I'm just saying ooo grin
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by mom2015: 11:09am On Mar 27, 2015

Are you honestly telling us that the VO gave you a visa as body going to deliver in US with only 250k in your account?
Yes Justwise, i was granted a visa with less dan 250k in my account. Combination of what myself and hubby earns is more dan 1.5m per month including benefits. I was thoroughly advised by people who know me not to put any other funds in my account (even though we had in some other account as we had withdrew some money at that moment) all he checked was my job history and our annual income and my account to prove I received such amount on a monthly basis.
I must tell u that I know more than 3-5 families that has done this in mine and hubby's office that were also granted a visa.
Like someone rightly said, maybe I was lucky. That means the luck runs amongst my friends and families then. smiley
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by mom2015: 3:26am On Mar 27, 2015
I stand to be corrected but I feel this issue of bank statement is a bit over rated . I went to the embassy with an account balance of 250k and was granted a visa even after telling the VO I was going for delivery. I was advised by my friends not to boost the account as it may look fishy.
Though I'm not in support of u going to the embassy with three statement of accounts.
My advice will be to go simple, state that ur hubby will sponsor the trip and make sure that whatever funds u have is in your hubby's account, den also prove to them that he has a stable job and dat u're also working. U can also go with other hospital packages if possible (to prove that other hospitals also offer cheaper packages) but still use the initial hospital.
The most important thing is to pray for God's favor and ure good to go.
Too much money can also portray a sign of desperation what matters most is ur history and what goes in and out of ur account not necessarily the current bank statement.
Another thing I feel that gave u away is the fact that u made a part payment when u haven't gotten a visa, according to the rumors I heard(i stand to be corrected) initial payments either for tickets or services expected to be rendered in the USA makes the VO feel u're making (forcing) him or her to feel obligated to grant u a visa. It's better to book for an appointment rather dan paying for the service.
My advice to future applicants will be to Just go with ur appointment letter and correspondence with the Dr.
I hope this helps.[/quote]

On a lighter mood, na wa for you, how can you carry rice to US when they grow rice in US as we grow maize in naija. They have better varieties of rice- long grain and is very cheap. You just gave those people avenue to seize your stuff. The goodnews is that you can get it in any of their stores.

Hi guys,

I'm just got into atlanta less than 2 hrs ago. No stress at all.

Thanks to u guys for sharing ur experiences on Nairaland, it really helped a lot. My POE story goes thus.

I requested for a wheel chair and I had priority treatment all through the checkpoints.

Cbp: Hi, ur makeup suites ur scarf and top, that's nice (smiling)
Me: Hi, thank u
Cbp: why are u here
Me: to give birth...
Cbp: oh good
Cbp: have u travel to serria Leone or Liberia recently
Me: no, this is my first time to leave the country
Cbp: so you haven't traveled for vacation?
Me: no, I'm not too thrilled about traveling, I'm only traveling to be sure my baby is born safely.
Cbp: how many months pregnant are u?
Me: almost 8 months
Where will u be staying
Me: Houston
Cbp: are u expecting ur husband
Me: nope, not too sure. Hour is a very busy man
Cbp: where does he work?
Me: ....
Cbp: do u work?
Me: nope
Cbp: how much do u have on u
Me: $8k and #1k
Cbp: stamps me in for 6months and gives me my passport

No secondary inspection and we were smiling all thru. He didn't ask abt Dr appointment, neither did he request for any document.

Agriculture seized my rice (lol) and I didn't have any issues at the security check.

All in all took abt 15mins.

I'm just waiting for my connecting flight to Houston.

Thank God for his favor.

Wish all the mama's in d house a successful POE.

Dr Fagbohun, here I come..

You shouldn't have made a bill yourself , what if they ask you for it at POE and are familiar with what the hospital copy looks like.
Changing stories now will simply equate to fraud sure you read d lady's story,
The problem was :destination change?
I already explained to the VO that the bill I prepared is an estimated one based on my phone conversation with the staff and that they refused to give me a mail as a back up and insisted that I uld come over before I can be granted an appointment.
In fact I showed him a correspondence btw myself and dr Nneka of Northside atlanta and she insisted that I should call the office.

U really are a courageous woman cos it takes a lot of courage to type this detailed experience to us. God bless u and ur family dearly. And for those of us traveling soon, I pray for God's grace thru out our trip.

Pls, abeg I have this very cunny info to share and ur candid opinion will be greatly appreciated.

Wen i went for my visa interview, I used my cousins addy and she invited me but our purpose of visit was for delivery. I used GWINETT med centre bill, it was prepared by me cost cud Nt get them to send me a mail and i got the bill via phone call. That I also told the vo.

Now I have changed my hospital Oakbend and my hubby is supposed to go for an interview soon.

Shud I still maintain the previous info I gave in the form and and den my huby goes with copies of the correspondence between me and my Dr or shud we change it from the beginning.
Secondly shud inform the embassy abt my change of plans?

Abeg for the typo error, pls pardon me, my fone is hanging.

Another line of thought, please some genius should help out here
With my little experience on visa application ( though I'm still a learner)
I applied with about 250k balance but the act statement reflects what my hubby earns in a month.
My little advice will be for u to get an invitation letter from ur brother stating that ur wife will be coming for childbirth and will be staying with him ( avoid writing that he will foot the bills).u will also use his addy.
Secondly if u earn abt 500k upwards, u shudnt have any problems getting a visa for ur wife because the salary will reflect on ur statement of account.
Prepare a budget for ur trip...( my budget totalled abt 16.5k for normal and abt 20.5k for c-section) and get a correspondence from the Dr I intend to use.
Get ur pay slip, landed property (if any), employment letter and introduction letter from u and ur wife's office)
I also went with my medical report from my Dr in Nigeria and that's it.
If u don't earn up to 500k, maybe u shud save sum money gradually and apply in 1.5-3months. I applied when I was about 6.5mths preggy.
Finally, maybe ur wife shud apply first cos of financial issues, den u cn apply when she gets her visa.
Wish u d very best.

Hello everyone,

I have read ALL 93 pages of this thread and want to say thanks to everyone who shared their experience in some sort of way! U guys are outstanding, made my research easy pezy!!

All I want to as is are there any April 2015 mums in the house?? I am 6 weeks gone, and wanted to make sure they'll be Nigerians at either MIHS or El Paso during that period (haven't decided which one I'm choosing. Have to lay out presentation and powerpoint of the two for the hubby first LOL).

I want to travel with my mum first and then I want my husband to join us 1st of April because I refuse to have this child or children (might be twins grin alone! Since I didn't MAKE them alone). Sides it's my first pregnancy and I've always wanted to experience giving birth with my hubs holding my hand for moral support! Anyway I digress, but if any of you ladies are due that period and will be in Phoenix or El Paso, pls just indicate.

Also I hope the accommodations close to these hospitals have Internet access and Tv coz I don't wanna be bored outta my mind! Still want to catch my shows online and skype with the hubby!

Than ks people!
Hi Shawbabe, pls can u inbox ur pin or phone number to me. I am considering MIHS or El paso as well. Tnx

- i noticed that the consulate officer didn't collect any of my passport photos, I just want to know if it's right or an omission on his part cos I was told to drop my passport photo for my uk visa.
- i will like to hook up with April mums due to travel in February or March as I am yet to conclude on where I will be giving birth. My options for now are Illinois, Atlanta, phoenix and texas.
- any April mum plan to use use Maricopa, elpaso or any other cost effective hospital should pls share with me.
@ tvegas, congrats on d arrival of ur son.
