My boys give me life

Good evening mamas. Please I need your advice.
I noticed my 14 weeks old babies can now lift and turn their head and raise their leg when on their tummy during tummy time. Their head is pretty stable on their neck I.e even when it falls back or forth they can bring it back to position without assistance. How do i know my baby is ready to sit?....Can i start putting them to sit?

Plz I need ur help n advice. My 5weeks old DS has been:
1. Stooling for more than a week. Took him to d clinic n was given ORS n Ampicilicin (for small rash on his neck) but d stooling hasn't stoppd. His poop is seedy n water plz wat can I do to stop ds?

2. Crying for 3days now, all he wants is to have breast in his mouth (even wen his stomach is bulging). Dunno wats wrong wif him or how to stop him frm crying excessively. Plz help

3. Throwing up his food after eating (either d raw breast milk or frm d stomach after sm minutes. Ds been going on for some weeks now. Plz how can I stop him frm spitting up his food?

I never used a postpartum belt but how does something going round the abdomen affects the vajayjay?! Your friend's story sounds suspicious. For semi-solids, wait until 5 months please. Preterm babies are calculated differently so your average 6 months baby will be 5 months and some weeks (depending on the length of preterm). Are they gaining weight? If they are, maybe 90ml is fine.

Yes, they are gaining weight on 90ml. But recently I no longer feel like they are gaining weight as before (maybe it's cos I see them all the time, I dunno ).

The reason for my worry is that they were born preterm and I am still trying my best to make them out on weight quick.

I have some more questions. .............

Is it normal for my babies to be taking 90ml of milk for more than 2 weeks now? I thought their demand is supposed to be increasing like every week.

Would it also be okay if I introduce pap and other cereal when they are 4months plus?

One of my friends said post partum belt widens/opens the vjay, how true is that?

Should I also expect them to achieve their milestones like sitting at 4months old, crawling, walking etc like most full term babies??

I dunno, I'm of 2 minds: my sanity-loving mind asks why on earth you would want to wake sleeping babies when you should be doing your best to get a little more sleep and be grateful they're even sleeping through the night. My Mother mind wonders if they got enough to eat during the day and if they didn't, maybe you should wake them up.

I do know a lot of people say Babies and Children will never starve themselves. If you are stuffing them with milk at 11pm, I think it's fine. Go get some sleep, perhaps?

my dear. It happened the day before yesterday and last night. Last night I woke around 3 and fed them in their sleep. They den woke to 6 this morning and ate like never before. We were told in the hospital to always feed them every 2 hours but what I am not sure of is if they have outgrown the 2 hour feeding schedule to feeding on demand.

MY LOS of 13weeks plus no longer sleep until about 11.:30pm and then sleep without waking up to feed till 5am or so.
Should I wake them to feed at night or just allow them to sleep till 5am?

Mompurity2 try and go a scoop less and see if there are changes also make sure they are taking the milk warm and not cold.

Secondly after feeding offer them like 10 mil of warm water in between before the next meal time and first thing in the morning

Take lots of fruits and water yourself so they can get the benefit from your breastmilk.

I recall now that when I was on iron supplements my son produces hard poo so check your diet and also if you are on any medication that contains iron.

Theres no need to discard the nan1 yet.

okay ma. I'll try ur suggestions. The good thing is thoat they poo daily, only ish is that its hard. Thanks once again

Sorry @ previous post. With 1:30, you are not going a scoop less. So go a scoop less and see if it works for you. You can do like mum zaynie and increase the number of feeds per day by +1.

Do that for a week or two and if no changes, then switch formula.

For example, right now my son is on between 100ml-120ml but I always use 3 scoops rather than 4 for 120ml or 3+ for 100ml. I have applied the same rule of thumb since birth.

So just use your discretion and amend accordingly. The instructions on the tin is only a "recommended guide" and parents can tweak as they wish.

Using 1:30, you are already a scoop less so please do not go a scoop less any further. If you read the instructions, you will notice that you are already a scoop less than what's stated on the pack.

I had to read d instruction on the tin again and confirmed that m measuring it correctly, 1:30. Pls confirn . thanks ma.

Your doctor will check their weight and then decide if they are fit enough to be circumcised. So check with your doctor. Ask for the "ring" method of circumcision as this is the modern method of circumcision and causes the least discomfort.

Since you are giving them warm water and they are still constipated, try going a scoop less when preparing their formula. If no changes, then maybe you should switch formula.

I think liftedhands has mentioned here that SMA gold was best for her son. For me, I have used aptamil from birth till date.

OK ma. I'll check with their ped and also enquire abt the ring method.

A scoop less, won't they be short of nutrients? Cos i measure one level scoop of formula for every 30mil of water. I am suspecting that it may be the bottles I am using. I bought Tommie bottle but noticed the teat was hard , so I got boots, then noticed boots 30mil is less than that of Tommie's.

As for the formula, dh already got a carton of nan1 so I will have to exhaust it before changing formula

Again, do u know when is the appropriate time to have them circumcised? As they are 40eks plus edd and 2months old.

My los poo hard and formed poo, I have tried giving them warm water before bath and sometimes in between meals, yet their poo is hard. Could it be the formula m using, Nan1 or something am not doing right?

Actually, if you are able to buy a used one directly from someone you know, its not bad.... but considering you are buying two for them twinnies e fit hard.

I wish it were possible. Anyways make i begin dey find affordable one na........ the thing is that I want a seat that is affordable and babies can use from 0- 2 years. Thanks for responding.
