I was contacted by two different employers for openings they had. One was a recruiter hiring for a client, the other was the employer himself.

They both wanted to fill the roles urgently and were contacting candidates whose CVs they had from way back. The recruiter had my CV from an application of 2018, the other guy had my CV from an application of 2017.

I declined both interviews because the role they were looking to fill, is one I currently do, but I desperately want to move away from, right now. The pay for both jobs was really good too.

The recruiter contacted me the last week of March, before govt announced the lockdown. The other contacted me 12th of June (this month)

Here is what I know, if you believe that jobs are scarce or will be hard to come by, because of the pandemic, what you think/believe will work for you.

If you think or believe otherwise (that work opportunities abound, irrespective of covid) your thoughts/beliefs will work for you as well. It's a thing of the mind.

I have a colleague who constantly gets on my nerves in the office, this person is always moaning about how it will be extremely difficult for anyone to find a job in this season, companies won't be hiring for a long time, blah, blah, blah. The negativity and doomsday prophesies are annoying and I wonder to myself, how can anyone think like this or live like this?

While they are busy proclaiming this bullshit, I am busy looking for new opportunities in this climate and even being contacted, from past job applications of 2 and 3 years ago.
