Nigeria to UK UK-based Nigerian medical doctor, Dr Funmilayo Harvey was accused of rape by another doctor Dr Bola Aseyan, has responded to the allegation. In a post he just made on Twitter, the doctor stated that they met on Twitter in 2019 and despite never setting eyes on each other, the relationship was never stable. Dr Funmilayo responds to rape allegation – We had sex twice He further revealed that Bola, who is a practicing doctor in Nigeria, and not the UK, insisted on coming to the UK to visit, for reasons best known to her, as her Visa was initially not granted. According to him, they had consensual sex, twice. The 1st being after they were both drunk, only for her to tell him the next day she didn’t give her consent to the sex they had. He then mentioned that he specifically asked her if she was insinuating he sexually abused her and she replied saying NO. In his rebuttal, Harvey wrote on how he accommodated Bola for 4 months in his apartment despite the duo not being in talking terms, and his only crime was him not allowing her into his heart. www.nairaland.com/attachments/11839379_ebyzgpuwkak4fd_jpeg_jpegec1c6b0709ae8d3cca627c724c15ff41 www.nairaland.com/attachments/11839380_ebyzgptxkaad1g0_jpeg_jpeg3871dfaa196ed3e93d4a60068dc7d932 www.nairaland.com/attachments/11839381_ebyzgqvwaaa7pc_jpeg_jpegaee98bd993510a1c04e8672e73ec7992 www.nairaland.com/attachments/11839382_ebyzguvwaai1wlb_jpeg_jpegf990f88aaf06db1263ae70f566d00c18 www.nairaland.com/attachments/11839409_ebyzguvwaai1wlb_jpeg_jpegf990f88aaf06db1263ae70f566d00c18 www.nairaland.com/attachments/11839410_ebyagfhxqaaamgv_jpeg_jpeg507ee9355a66167f96f0d65f61a7c12d www.nairaland.com/attachments/11839411_ebyagihx0aaq6kt_jpeg_jpeg460fb345deea3c8e2c8c769e31e37486 www.nairaland.com/attachments/11839412_ebyagkdxsai90f5_jpeg_jpege6a87e744155d9360c61dfe755a48f9d www.nairaland.com/attachments/11839459_ebyavixx0aabc8z_jpeg_jpeg0b2a081bed8abefe7ed5055e411e561f www.nairaland.com/attachments/11839460_ebyavi4xsaelfrh_jpeg_jpege40b68a962d9be149689da2648733526 www.nairaland.com/attachments/11839461_ebyavkxyay8r33_jpeg_jpeg18c2af07efcf65c2371c0ca832b0754f www.nairaland.com/attachments/11839462_ebyavpixqaaquy8_jpeg_jpegd1efff7449d776ca9752eec17f5ec9a8 Source: https://mobile.twitter.com/DrOlufunmilayo/status/1278065186935648257 I helped a male friend come for holiday in UK- a male doctor too. Apparently, it is a thing for most married men to cut off their single friends once they become hitched. Two or more men could be besties for such a long time, sharing secrets, going out together, living their best lives, creating memories and building a memorable friendship out of those moments shared. As soon as one of them gets married, it is not unusual for the married one to cut off his friendship with the single man. Many friendships have ceased to exist once one person marries. So share your why you think is right or wrong to cut off your single friend. |

Missing Black Live Matters activist Oluwatoyin Salau is dead, this is according to a statement posted online that the 19-year-old died after tweeting about sexual assault. Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau, had been declared as a missing person by Tallahassee Police department, Florida. On June 6, 2020, on her Twitter page, just hours before she disappeared, Salau wrote a series of disturbing tweets. According to her, “Silence is the best weapon for some but not for me I will not be silenced,” she had written on her Twitter page at that time. She had tweeted about how she was sexually assaulted, detailing her experience. She wrote; “Anyways I was molested in Tallahassee, Florida by a black man this morning at 5:30 on Richview and Park Ave. The man offered to give me a ride to find someplace to sleep and recollect my belongings from a church I refuged to a couple of days back to escape unjust living conditions.” “He came disguised as a man of God and ended up picking me up from nearby Saxon Street.” She also explained, “I trusted the holy spirit to keep me safe.” She then said how the man offered to give her a ride back to a church where she had sought “refuge” because of “unjust living conditions.” On social media, people are claiming that Salau, who was a speaker at Black Lives Matter protests after the death of George Floyd is dead. According to them Salau’s body had been found (the term RIP Toyin even trended on Twitter). I’m sorry to inform everyone about this but Toyin is no longer with us

Chapter 2- TWO LOST PUPPIESHaley "I told dad not to come because you said you'd drop me back," I remind Odette. It's past nine and my dad has a strict ten o'clock curfew, which I don't mind, to be honest. I like being indoors during the night as it prevents me from doing anything stupid under peer pressure. "Why don't you call your dad and tell him you'll spend the night here?" I don't answer. Odette, Nancy, Juniper, and Bella watch me as I pace anxiously around Odette's elaborate living room. I know they understand my point of view, but they have nothing to do that would help me. "Do you want me to call mom?" Odette asks uncertainly. I sigh. "No, it's okay. I'll just walk." "It's raining out," Nancy reminds me. "Can't you just stay?" I pull on my coat and stuff my feet into my sneakers, thinking about it. "It's okay," I shake it off. "Don't worry, I'll be fine." "Take the umbrella." Odette hurries after me as I make my way towards the exit. She hands me a big black umbrella. "Hope I don't get hit by lightning with this on me," I joke, taking the umbrella. "Keep your phone active and call me right away if something happens," Odette says to me with a nervous expression. "And Haley ... I'm sorry." Yeah, you should be! "See you tomorrow at school." With a fleeting hug, I exit into the dark and chilly night. Opening the umbrella, I hold it on top of me. It's huge, and I'm lucky that it protects me from the rain. As I hurry onto the main street, I stiffen my shoulders and grip the umbrella tighter, my other hand closing instinctively around the phone in my pocket. My eyes dart around the empty surroundings as I walk at a brisk pace through the sheet of downpour, taking the shortcut from Odette's home to mine. The dirty neighborhood is deserted, and even the stray dogs seemed to have retired to a dry spot somewhere out of sight. I keep my eyes on the sidewalk, trying to avoid the open gutters, scattered garbage bags and rotting food leftovers, looking up only when I reach the spot I recognize from earlier in the day. My gaze passes over the buildings I pass, a few windows lit and most of them dark. I can hear multiple conversations going on within those cracked walls, but most of the sound is drowned out by the roaring wind. The familiar metal stairway comes into my view and I naturally look up towards the first landing. To my surprise, I see a black-clad figure sitting there, back against the door and huddled upon itself. No, that can't be him ... can it? Licking my freezing lower lip, I notice Xavier is still wearing the simple full-sleeved black shirt he was wearing at school. His raven hair falls on his face, which is bowed low over his hands resting limp in his lap. His legs are spread out straight in front of him and though his body is relatively dry -- being under the shade -- the ground around his feet is soaking wet. Before I can figure out what I'm doing, I'm climbing the rickety staircase, my hand coming out of my pocket and gripping the wet railing to secure myself. Xavier's head snaps up when I'm halfway up the stairs, and I freeze, one foot on the upper stair, one lower. I open my mouth, but the widening of his eyes makes me nervous. He looks kind of scary, with one side of his face bruised and dark hair flopping over his forehead, ghostly grey eyes staring at me. I close and open my mouth again, before clearing my throat. |
Sorry for the late updates Chapter 2 Ugoma attacked me as soon as I entered the classroom. "Tiwa, have you heard?" She said ready to gist me but I was already sure that it was about Funke. I pitied that girl, the news about her wasn't go down anytime soon, I couldn't imagine the embarrassment. "About Funke, right? I heard already" I said as I cut Ugoma off and went to sit on my chair. As much as I would have loved to tell you that I was the center of attention in my school, the oh so beautiful princess that every student liked and wanted to be friends with, the most brilliant student, blah blah blah! Oh please! I was non of that. I was not even near any center of attention, not so beautiful and not even that brilliant, I was just average of it all. "Look, my mum and I went shopping on Saturday for my hostel supplies and we spent over two hundred thousand Naira!" I heard a voice brag as my head snapped to the direction of the voice and just like I had expected, it was Toyin, the wannabe of my class, that girl can lie! Her lie could wake a dead man up! I am not exaggerating. There was a time that she told us that her mum is an oyinbo {white} woman based in New York, she even buttressed her point by showing us a picture, some of them believed that bullshit but I didn't. The fact that she was very light doesn't mean her mum had to be white. The cat was let out of the bag when her mum came to school one day to harass her for stealing her money. Toyin was a typical representative of Alakada (fake girls). "Hun! Toyin the rich girl! You that I saw sitting in your mom's small kiosk on Saturday! Must you always lie? The thing no dey tire you ni (don't you get tired)?" The shortest boy in our class attacked her. Dolapo was the shortest boy in the whole senior school, you could even mistake him for a dwarf. He had his own special chair due to his height. He coupled his shortness with been troublesome and mean, I guess he didn't want to be cheated on or something. Funny enough, most students didn't even know his real name, they called him by his nickname, 'Boiling ring.' Let me tell you how he got that name; When we were in J.S.S 1, all newbies and naive, Mrs Sobowale, one of our subject teachers cared enough to give us time to introduce ourselves during her class. It got to Dolapo's turn and just because he wanted to act cool, he said, "My name is Soyinka Adedolapo but my friends call me Dolly ray". The way he pronounced Dolly ray that day sounded like boiling ring and that was what we all started to call him ever since. Queen and her friends cat-walked into the classroom in all their elegance and poise. Now, this girl was the definition of beauty. She's dark in complexion, tall and curvy plus she was even brilliant. She practically had it all. But all this gets into her head sometimes thus making her act like an idiot, no offence but I didn't like her. How could one person have all that qualities? Say I'm envious or jealous but am I not human? Had it been she was nice now, I would have even tried to like her but she just had to choose to be mean. She walked towards Ore who was sitting somewhere at the back of the class. "Ore, is it true that you got a love letter from Funke Anikulapo?!" She whispered even though everybody in the class could hear what she said. "Ehen! What's your business?!" Ore snapped at her while the whole class laughed. Despite Queen's qualities, she still fought for Ore's attention like the rest of us, that boy acted as if he wasn't interested in girls, I couldn't help but wonder if he had a problem. Before queen could think of a comeback, our civic teacher came in. Miss Bamijo was a short robust womanwith three tribal marks on her face, students call her 'okola' (okola means someone with tribal marks) behind her back. Some of the boys even joke by saying, 'you fight lion?' Miss Bamijo who was surely in her thirties but yet to get married used to act like she was strict but actually wasn't. We all had those teachers in our schools that liked holding cane to scare students and would be frowning face up and down but couldn't actually beat, Miss Bamijo was one of those teachers. "Toyin, why can't you do without talking, ehn?, sho sho sho like a parrot. And if I flog you now, you will start crying like a baby!" She snapped Toyin who just stared at her. You dare not talk back at your teachers in my school. "It's like you people don't know what you are into! Your GCE exam is knocking and you are now in S.S 2, You had better be serious" She said trying to scare us with our external exams like most typical Nigerian teachers do. Funny enough, this GCE exam was still the following year and they did not let us rest. Only our school was making the exam compulsory as if it was their business. Typical private school. "So, what was our last topic? |
"The same Funke that lives in hostel, that girl that used to wet her bed when she was in J.S.S 2, the one that is fat like this, teachers like calling her Omo Fela Kuti. Don't you know Funke Anikulapo?!", Seun said describing the girl in the most ridiculous ways she could even though she could have said the girl's surname and I would have known who she was talking about. But knowing Seun, she had to put drama in everything. Funny enough, she dare not call the girl's name in her presence without adding senior. "Wonders shall never end! So they are already giving that girl liver too?, How could she even think of having a chance with Ore?!" I was bewildered, here I was thinking of one fine Funke not knowing that it was orobo (fat) and smelly funke, I was not trying to body shame her or anything, I just love to call a spade a spade and not sugarcoat it. Aside from been fat, that girl smelled like poultry, if you sit next to her for a long time, I promise you that you would faint due to her body odour. She was this short fat dark girl whose uniform was always worn out, dirty and untidy. Her hair was nothing to write home about. Some people just need to learn how to stay in their own lane. "Let me go to my class and hear the remaining gist, our civic teacher will soon be here." I said as Seun and I went our separate ways. |
An African lady dating a Canadian man has expressed her dissatisfaction towards her boyfriend’s parents’ use of the word Nigga to describe her while spending the lockdown at their place. In her post on Reddit, the lady from Kenya revealed that she has been dating the man for over a year and they made the decision to spend the lockdown in his hometown. My boyfriend’s parent called me a Nigga – African lady dating Canadian His parents, whom she described as being nice towards her initially, used the N word to describe and she has been shattered since then. She wrote: “I heard my boyfriend’s parents say something racist about me,” she began. “My boyfriend (25M) and I (23F) have been dating for a year now. To give a bit more context, he’s white and 100% Canadian, and I was born in Kenya (moved to Canada when I was 1). I had never met his parents because they live 3 hours away from us and he’s not super close to them anyway. ”When lockdown started and both our jobs closed, he asked if I wanted to spend a few weeks with them, so I could meet them and visit his hometown. I said ‘’sure, sounds fun!’’ ”We drove there on a Friday night and when my bf introduced me to his parents, they were super nice. We were talking, laughing, all that good stuff. When it was getting late, my bf and I decided to prepare for bed and went upstairs. When he was already in bed, he realized he forgot his charger downstairs and asked me if I could please go get it. ”When I was walking down the stairs, I heard his mother (still at the kitchen table) mention my name, so being noisy, I stopped and listen. They said I was nice and I was happy to hear that, but then his father said ‘’it’s a shame she’s a nigg*r though’’. His mother answered ‘’as long as he doesn’t marry her, it’s fine. And he won’t, he knows we would be disappointed’’. I kind of froze up, waited for them to change the subject, got my bf’s charger and went upstairs. I didn’t know how to feel, and I still don’t. I’m lucky enough to have never dealt with this kind of racism, so I’m a bit lost on what to do. What his mother said implies my bf knows his parents are not happy with him being with me. Is this why he’s waited so long to introduce them to me? And why didn’t he warn me that his parents don’t want him dating a black girl? Do I even talk to him about it? I don’t want to cause more drama, but at the same time, I’m mad. And also sad. I know we’re not there yet, but would his parent’s disapproval stop him from marrying me? And if we have kids, will their grandparents hate them because they’re not white enough? I love my boyfriend so much and I know he loves me, but I don’t know what to do and how to go about this.” The woman received an overwhelming number ofresponses offering her comfort and advice. “It makes me stick to my stomach that this happened to you and I am so sorry you were even in this situation. Yes, you need to confront your boyfriend about this as soon as possible. While he very well might not share the same disgusting views his parents do, he 150 per cent has to know they’re like this.” One person said. Another wrote: “This is not okay at all and even more not ok if your SO knew that they felt this way. If he knew that they were racist (even if he doesn’t think of it that way), he knowingly put you into this situation and into harms way.” Others argued the woman shouldn’t necessarily end her relationship, but should instead allow her boyfriend to confront his parents about their views. “Wow first of all, I’m really sorry about his parents. That really is a shame. I think you should tell your BF about what happened and let him handle it. You didn’t do anything wrong, they’re just being super racist and unreasonable. I really hope they start to look past your race and instead realise the other amazing things you have to offer.” Another advised. |
A parrot who heard last words of 46-year-old Argentine woman, Elizabeth Toledo who was allegedly killed after being raped by 2 men, will be used as evidence, police reports. Elizabeth Toledo was raped and murdered in the city of San Fernando. Parrot who “heard victim’s last words” reveals she was killed by 2 men As part of the evidence filed in the case last week, police recorded a statement from a police officer who said he heard the Toledo parrot shortly after the killing saying no, Por favour, soltame!” (“No, please, let me go”), Clarin reports. The police believe the parrot was repeating its owner’s last words as she was allegedly beaten and raped by two housemates. The officer had been standing guard outside the murder scene when he heard what sounded like a woman screaming inside. He looked inside the apartment – but only found Toledo’s naked and bruised body lying on a mattress on the floor, along with the green parrot in a cage. Evidence also includes witness testimony from a neighbour who claimed to have seen the parrot repeat the trick on a different occasion. That witness told police that the parrot once said ‘por qué me pegaste?’ (why did you hit me?) after one of the men hit Toledo. 51-year-old Miguel Saturnino Rolon and 62-year-old Jorge Raul Alvarez are on trial for the rape and murder of 46-year-old Elizabeth Toledo in Buenos Aires in 2018. Head prosecutor Bibiana Santella has reportedly included the parrot’s ‘testimony’ in the case file. Other evidence includes a bite mark from the victim’s forearm which they say matches the bite of Rolon’s teeth ‘like a fingerprint’. Meanwhile DNA evidence found on Toledo’s body will link Alvarez to the rape and killing, they allege. An autopsy showed that the victim has been beaten, raped, and strangled to death, according to Clarin. Ms Toledo rented a room to three men in the same house. Her housemates Miguel Saturnino Rolon and Jorge Raul Alvarez are the two who have been arrested in connection with the homicide. The third housemate was also arrested, but he was not at home when the alleged incident occurred. The trial’s start date hasn’t been revealed.
