Nairaland / General / D Dead And D Drama They Leave Behind by monyeike(m): 1:42pm On Feb 16, 2013
It would have been disappointing if
drama did not follow her death.
Goldie, the unpredictable Goldie is
pulling surprises even in death.
Just last night, a man believed to be
her husband emerged, posting
intimate pictures on Facebook,
sharing same on her twitter handle,
and engaging with several curious
fans (he even issued a warning to
Prezzo, the man many of us have
come to know as the late singer’s
bonafide partner).
There were rumours she may have
been married or involved with an
expatriate, but no one could confirm
during her lifetime. But what was
hidden for years tore the lid and
came out last night, with the
startling revelation by the man
whose name is Andrew. Andrew
Harvey.
While still mourning his wife and
preparing to come to Lagos, he was
kind enough to speak exclusively
with Nigerian Entertainment Today…
So sorry about your loss. And so
sorry to be contacting you under
this circumstance. Nigerians are
shocked to discover, through your
FB post, that Goldie was married.
I’m wondering if you’ll able to give
me more details, and if we can have
your permission to print some of
the photos in the folder ‘Memories
of my darling wife’ ?
You may print the photos, as for the
details it really depends on what it is
you’re looking for
Thanks Andrew. Just to clarify a few
things
Like?
When did you wed her? And were
you still married as at when she
passed yesterday?
We wed in December 2005 and were
very much married when she passed
indeed I was talking to her on arrival
in Lagos before the fateful event
I see you moved back to England. Do
you have another family?
I work in Malaysia, we have a private
home in UK, I do not have a second
family
Also did you have kids together?
No kids, we were planning this year
There had been speculation for many
years that she was married to an
‘oyinbo’ man. But no one could lay
hands on anything. Why did you
keep it a ‘secret’?
Our private life is nothing to do with
work life, there has to be a balance
How did you hear of her death? I
found out you last saw her in
December?
I was talking to her on arrival in Lagos
before the fateful event
How did you meet her? She must
have been very young…
I met her at a friend’s leaving party
and fell in love straight away, but had
to work hard to persuade her I was
genuine
So you will be planning to come here
for burial rites…
Yes I have applied for visa and shall
come next week
But how did you manage the Prezzo
drama?
Prezzo was part of BBA game, just like
in the movies, there was nothing to
fear
But funny it dragged way beyond
BBA
It dragged because the media dragged
it, other wise it would have died
naturally. Prezzo will say anything to
get attention
Do you think he fell in love? And did
you ever think Susan liked him for a
minute…?
People fall in love and it’s not
impossible to love more than one
person, but there are different levels.
She liked him initially, but began to
despise him and distanced herself as
he tried to use her she complained he
was very manipulative
How did you come about your alias
‘Oyibopeppay?
Oyiiibopeppay is a name used in the
villages for white man getting burned
in the sun. I used to work in the bush
erecting BTS for MTN and Glo
You have direct access to her
password? The memories album was
posted on her twitter. Or you
requested for an admin to post?
I am an official admin. I don’t need
any password but my own. It was
authorised by Goldie
One last question: so much
speculation on cause of death. I see
from your facebook timeline that
you’ve followed the reports. Have
the doctors/family/label told you
what the cause of death is?
An autopsy is being carried out and we
will await results. The rest is
speculation and hearsay
And did she have any medical
condition?
She had no medical condition,
Is it true she was in India recently?
She was in Malaysia, we spent
Christmas together away from prying
eyes
What will you miss most about her?
Everything, she was the most beautiful
person I ever met, no moment was
wasted. Sweet, intelligent, sexy and a
magnificent cook!!!!
And she was a determined young
lady…
Very. That’s what I liked about her
Are you originally from England?
Was she officially a citizen of your
country by marriage? Or that was
not concluded?
I’m from England and was processing
Nigerian citizenship before I was
transferred to Malaysia. Of course she
was citizen of UK before we met, she
lived and schooled there
She was indeed a star, as I’m sure
you’ve seen from the tributes
coming from far and near. Even the
BBC and Billboard recognise her star
Yes we saw it on BBC news tonight. It
is a devastating loss, but I support just
as much wherever she has gone to.
May her soul rest in peace
Thank you.

While French, Chad and other forces chase terrorists
out of Mali, Nigeria is yet to send 20 per cent of its
pledge.
The deployment of Nigerian soldiers as part of the
Africa-led International Support Mission to Mali
(AFISMA) is turning out to be a complete charade as
army authorities and the Ministry of Defence are
having a hard time coping with basic logistics such as
provision of the right uniforms, food, and proper
transportation for troops, PREMIUM TIMES has learnt.
Morale is said to be at the lowest ebb among the first
batch of 160 soldiers led by Colonel Gagariga already
in Mali as they have resorted to skipping meals as
their food provisions run out, military insiders have
told this newspaper.
Last week, President Goodluck Jonathan said the
Federal Government has spent $34 million (N5.1
billion) on the deployment of 1200 troops to the
troubled West African country and pledged a further
$5 million (N750 million) in assistance.
But three weeks after the first batch of 160 soldiers
was sent to the Malian capital, Bamako, the army is
having a difficult time getting the remaining troops
combat ready.
Discontent is rapidly growing among the troops who
believe that some highly placed individuals in the
army are siphoning logistics supports and provisions
meant for them, defence sources told PREMIUM
TIMES.
The Nigerian Army Peace Keeping Centre (NAPKC) led
by Major General, J.S Zaruwa could not provide
fatigues and proper transportation for troops, our
sources said.
Plagued by inadequate logistical support and
managerial inefficiency, 800 soldiers from the 81
battalion in Ibadan and 280 from the 333 Artillery
Regiment, after completing preliminary training for
the Malian mission, have been rendered redundant at
the NAPKC in Kachia, Kaduna.
“We are just at the NAPKC doing nothing,” a troop
member said.
Even as French troops and soldiers from Niger, Chad
and Burkina Faso enter Kidal, the last known
stronghold of the Al Qaeda-linked Islamists, neither
the army authorities nor the Ministry of Defence know
when the bulk of Nigerian soldiers will be in Mali.
The new army spokesperson, Brigadier Ibrahim
Atahiru, said in a telephone interview that “they will
be deployed very soon.”
Director for Defence Information, Brigadier General
Mohammed Yerima, who refused to speak about the
training and readiness of troops, said the ministry
only becomes responsible for the soldiers after they
(soldiers) have been handed over for deployment.
“At present there are 162 soldiers in Mali. We will
deploy more as soon as they are handed over to us,”
he said.
This contradicts reports by some newspapers (not
PREMIUM TIMES) credited to an officer in the office of
the Director for Defence Information, Wabi
Mohammed, that 768 troops have been deployed to
Mali.
Putting Soldiers in harm’s way
In the early hours of January 19, a convoy of Mali-
bound soldiers on its way to Kaduna for pre-
deployment training was ambushed allegedly by a
breakaway faction of Boko Haram, Jama’atu Ansarul
Muslimina Fi Biladis-Sudan (JAMBS) in Okene, Kogi
State. Two soldiers lost their lives and five others
were seriously injured.
They were unnecessary casualties.
The lives of the soldiers would have been saved if the
army had been faithful to the original plan of
conveying the soldiers by air, officials said.
Another defence source, who asked not to be named,
suggested that some army top brass cornered the
funds provided to airlift the soldiers.
“The boys are being moved by vehicle from Ibadan to
Kaduna for training against the flight proposals made
for them,” the source said.
Our source also said that the NAPKC, which is in
charge of getting the troops ready for the mission, has
refused to provide uniforms meant to be used during
training and no explanation has been given for this.
According to our source, there is widespread
discontent among the troops stationed at NAPKC as a
result of neglect and inadequate provisions.
“The boys back home are not very happy as they are
not adequately taken care of at the NAPKC,” he said.
PREMIUM TIMES further learnt that there are plans to
move the soldiers for further “mission specific
training” in Sokoto. The training is expected to last for
six weeks.

when France sent their military troop to Mali, they had to cause they were the ones who colonized Mali, when gej sent our boys out there did he have to?

I was reading today in punch that out of the 1200 men he is meant to send out to Mali for peace keeping he has sent only 500 with the excuse that he his training the remaining ones for peace keeping mission and they would be ready by September...

iv a few problems with all this

firstly, did we have to send in troops so quickly, or is it because they say we are d giants of Africa? our troops are not ready and u send them in unprepared... has SA sent in theirs? I dont think so...

if we are training out troops for peace keeping then what have they been doing in d barracks all this while? sleeping and eating, I believe we should have people designated to peace keeping, this is not d first time we r doing peace keeping mission, what happened to the other people, are they dead? could they not have been training since?

so since we have to train our men for peace keeping, if it should happen in nigeria, what next, are we prepared to defend ourselves or are we going to start training them for 6 months...

lastly France is looking for ways to pull out their troops, we are looking for ways to throw ours in... nice one gej

specimen of the 200CC motorcycle approved for
use...

that was the plan all along when they stopped commercial bikes from passing certain routes cause of there engine capacity, but wait, thats not the catch, the catch is the fact that some big money man is the one bringing in this bikes so he can make money from d sales and if there was no ban.on d the other ones this would not be possible...

in Nigeria one thing is absolutely clear, the rich make money from d poor nd dont intend to stop... we need help
