it was this point i was trying to make you see back then. llorente would have been a way cheaper option alongside batshuayi instead of morata. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is pencilled in for a medical in London on Wednesday morning.
As we know, the deal can only happen if Borussia Dortmund secure a replacement.
Earlier today, everything was set for Batshuayi to join Dortmund on loan with Giroud moving to Chelsea for £20m.
However Chelsea – through their transfer negotiator Marina Granovskaia – are now said to be trying to drive the Giroud price down at the last minute.
Arsenal have not taken well to that and are threatening to end negotiations with Chelsea and send Giroud on loan to Dortmund, in order to complete the Aubameyang signing.
The problem with that, of course, is whether Giroud will agree to join Dortmund (which was the original plan before Chelsea entered the fray).
If not and Giroud stays at Arsenal, Dortmund would have to source an alternative replacement if the Aubameyang transfer is to proceed.
