By Moran Cee Onyemaechi Nigerian Catholic faithfuls from all walks of life gathered on Sunday the 26th day of January at St Michaels Catholic Church Lafiaji Lagos Nigeria to celebrate the feast of their brother who is in heaven; Blessed Michael Iwene Tansi. The normal feast day is usually every January 20 but it was shifted to the first Sunday after it to give it a wider celebration.The event witnessed the unveiling of his statue in a Holy Mass celebrated by the Catholic Archbishop of Lagos; His Grace Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins where he admonished all to emulate the exemplary life of Blessed Tansi to be humble and also pray for the security of Nigeria. He further reminded all that Blessed Tansi would become a Saint but only just one more miracle is needed and the Miracle can come from anyone any moment from now. In attendance also was the Spiritual Director of the Blessed Tansi Movement; Very Rev. Monsignor Livinus Ukah who during his speech asked everyone to pray for God to alleviate the hardship in Nigeria and complete the final phase of our Nigerian brother to be canonized a Saint by the Vatican. It was a great event with great spiritual significance attended by various Media agencies in Nigeria. Right now Nigeria needs a Saint. Blessed Fr Michael Iwene Tansi has met all the requirements and we wait for just that one confirmed miracle.

I searched the name of the Awardee on Facebook and confirmed to be sure and he confirmed the story to be true.
