I love your opinion,but I must correct your ill conception-that CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF ADMINISTRATION 'claims' the prestigious title 'CHARTERED' because it has an Act(Act 103, 1992) that chartered it, empowering it to regulate the practice of Administration in Nigeria in various consultancy fields within a regulatory framework.Please CIA is not like some mushroom professional bodies that are still craving for a CHARTER.Get the National Gazette or visit these websites to view the confirmation: www.nigeria-law.org/LFN-92 or http://www.nigerianprofessional.com.

Thanks a lot for identifying that CIA members are jack of all trade but we are master of all!.We can't practice in all fields because we ain't confused!,but focus on overall management consultancy and entrepreneurial development with an underlying core Administrative competence. It doesn't matter your specialization,but it is sine-qua-non for effective co-ordination for those in top hierarchy of any organization.

Dear,how would you feel when you are called upon(as an organizational head) to make some contributions or corrections, to remedy a defective organisation's Business segment within your company,but you couldnt ,because of no knowledge of their activities and ways they should operate? As a CHARTERED ADMINISTRATOR,as I have said earlier,u have that opportunity of versatility in all the business related fields n excel in Business Consultancy practice.Please note that the ACIA certificate don't give u the licence to practice as a CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT but as a PROFESSIONAL/CHARTERED ADMINISTRATOR which is a plus to your accounting profession.ACIA syllabus covers deeply courses offered by ICAN n xtends to other disciplines,we have several FELLOWS of ICAN n ACCA as CIA members also.Please stay posted!

Is ur business Education cert.a Bsc or HND? Which Institution issued it?If it is either a Bsc or HND from a reputable institution,since it is Business inclined,u wil be granted an exemption in all the foundation levels to the final level Professional practice stage one(PP1) from where u wil proceed to the last level-PP3.Each level lasts 6months ,summing up to 18months.There were three specialities namely:Financial Administration,Corporate managerial Administration &Public Administration,but due to the recent revision of the courses-to suite the ever changing business environment,every student now majors only in CORPORATE FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION which comprises all the three courses.Remember,as a CHARTERED ADMINISTRATOR, u must be vast with full knowledge of Accounting,Marketing n other core functional areas of business to enable you co-ordinate all the organisational activities.

Mayorde,I lav ya opinion.I don't know why some people will wake up one morning and form an institute to protect their professions even going to the length of tagging it ''CHARTERED''.Which decree or act of parliament chartered you?Yes professionalism is the basic now,but that shouldnt sprut these jelly-legged bodies.ICEN should start as an ordinary institute before reaching the age of being CHARTERED in order not to be SHATTERED.View the list of some professional bodies below and the acts and Decrees that chartered them:

I appreciate all of u that have said the truth about the Nigerian University system.My post-secondary school years was spent first in a professional school where i became CHARTERED,to fufill all righteousness i decided to get a Bsc,but was shocked to my marrows about the backwardness of our undergraduates n graduates.I only got more social exposure but without additional skills.While in my foundation stages,I lectured 300 level and Final year students of accounting,Banking and finance students.CIA

It may sound RUBBISH cos u have never thought about it.SHARPMAN,why not act sharp n get a professional qualification so that the wind of change will not carry you.Anyway i lav ya bluntness.Have u ever thought why Lawyers MUST go to Law school before practice,Doctors-Medical colleges,ENGINEERS and others?Come off it man and be a real SHARPMAN

Having ordinary Bsc or HND isnt enough for our country that has a highly volatile business environment which requires result oriented individuals to think and apply professional skills to create  changes.Organisations have realised the essence of professionalism, which is obvious in job specification adverts.It is now very neccessary that u have a professional certificate before u can man a reasonable position.Why? Intergrity of professionals are high,aside their competence.Anyway professionals from CIA,ICAN,ACCA,NIM,CIM etc,are trained EMPLOYERS of LABOUR and not EMPLOYEES of THE NEIGHBOUR! I have tasted Bsc but PROFESSIONALISM is always the best! Counter my views.
