MADUKA UNIVERSITY SAGA: NIGERIAN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS' TRANSCRIPTS ISSUING PROCEDURES SHOULD BE UNIFORM AND HARMONIZED! ~Moran Cee Onyemaechi With the recent transcript issuing brouhaha between Maduka University and one of her students and the subsequent divided public opinions on this issue, I wish to request the Ministry of Education and other tertiary education regulators in Nigeria to mandate schools to start issuing transcripts to students upon graduation and on request! Over the years, there have been practices of issuing of transcripts directly to the Institutions through which admissions are sought upon payment of prescribed transcript processing fees. Majority of Nigerian Universities and Postgraduate Professional Training Institutions do this. However, there are claims that some Universities in Nigeria issue STUDENTS' COPIES directly to students while others do not, which makes it frustrating and confusing. I quite understand the fears of the Institutions of possible alterations and falsifications by students when handed directly but final verifications with CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES from the graduating Institute would help. It would be highly frustrating to students to continue maintaining the status quo of transcript issue directly to institutions. Let's look at a scenario where a students is seeking a Postgraduate admission in 3 different Universities which he/she is not certain and when transcripts are requested, you will need to pay separately for it to be sent to the 3 institutions 😳😳. Following the inherent frustration this has been causing, I propose a STUDENT COPY to be issued along Statements of results upon graduation or on request. This will enable students to tender it anywhere they are needed and upon admission confirmation, the Institute can request a CERTIFIED TRUE COPY from the student's school which should be sent directly to the Institution upon payment of prescribed transcript fees for final verification and clearance. This will create strong uniformity in Transcripts issuing procedure in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions to avoid confusions currently generated by some Institutions issuing while others are not. Maduka University has released an official statement detailing their transcripts issuing procedure which the parents of the students are not understanding. Academic transcripts should be made available to students upon graduation and upon request along with statements of results. With the advent of Technology, overall students academic records and transcripts should be available on a dedicated Institution's portal and should be downloaded with on a pre-stamped document after filling out an electronic form and payments of prescribed fees. PWAN GROUP: THE DANGERS OF TOO MANY UNCONTROLLED AFFILIATES~ Moran Cee Onyemaechi This is not the best time for the PWAN brand which has painstakingly navigated the terrain of the Real Estate industry for 13 solid years! I feel deeply pained about how the name is being dragged and the numerous scandals it currently faces not because I have any affiliation with them but because I am a Brand Communications Professional and Real Estate Advocate championing the cause of transparency in Real Estate business deals to benefit all stakeholders through REAL Estate Advocacy Media . PWAN is undoubtedly a great brand to be reckoned with being the first to introduce REAL ESTATE NETWORK MARKETING that created independent Realtors that has empowered many people and made them millionaires. They have delivered on several projects too. I believe in the quest for expansion and consolidation, PWAN created subsidiaries and affiliates which has rapidly spread across all states and localities and acquiring lands even in deep uncharted areas. If PWAN can navigate successfully through their recent troubled waters, they should as a matter of urgency, carry out pending allocations, do refunds to customers on disputed lands and streamline/shut down the many subsidiaries/affiliates whose operations do not align with their core values with which they are known for. PWAN has delivered on many projects. They shouldn't let desperate affiliates mess up their track records. Also for other Real Estate companies desperate for expansion and having lands in every state of the federation, they should have a rethink! They should focus on quality not on quantity. They should avoid purchasing cheap untitled troubled lands in remote areas and sell to the public who think they can get ownership and allocation within a very short period. They should buy lands, perfect the titles, allocate and develop before going to acquire another estate. It's proven that anyone who likes buying very cheap goods will end up buying troubles one day. When trying to expand your brand through affiliations and franchise, ensure they don't engage in activities that might tarnish the main brand especially when the main brand's name would be appended to their name or else the main brand becomes vicariously liable and pay for their sins. I am not writing from the side of morality or his uprightness but writing from the angle of a man who knows his onions in politics, who understands how to build men, position them strategically and leverage on their wings to soar not to just fly. He understands the importance of time and always starts his scheming far earlier and ahead of others. Even in this coalition brouhaha, his men might already be mapping out strategies to brew confusions to put a crack that might split interests to his favour. Remember that I always talk about how politicians master the use of THREE basic "DISUNITING" elements of MONEY, TRIBE and RELIGION to bring a divide and rule just for their selfish interests even though they themselves are not TRIBALISTIC and RELIGIOUS FANATICS. Politicians understand that the masses are greater than them and can push them out once they are UNITED and speak with ONE VOICE but they can put up their lives to avoid that UNITY which threatens their political manevoring. Coalition or no coalition, the only tool to remove a perceived poor performing government is UNITY OF PURPOSE, removal of GREED, TRIBALISM and RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY. If all these elements are not eliminated, no amount of coalition (which is purely an assembly of disgruntled politicians) can remove a sitting president. While the politicians engage in Coalitions, the electorates should also unite in a coalition when the coalition political party brings out a candidate, because coalition of politicians without coalitions of the citizens/masses/electorates genuinely hungry for a change, would become a futile efforts once the sitting government introduces MONEY, TRIBALISM and RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY to scatter them and the weeping continues! Before you register that company as a Limited Liability, apart from making good choice of a brand name, pay serious attention to the person or people you wish to be Partners, Directors, Trustees and Shareholders. This is very important because this choice influences the success of failure of the business. Make sure anyone you wish to add as your Co-Directors or Trustees share in the vision of the company and can go extra miles to support the growth of the business either intellectually or financially. Do not just pick and add people because of sentiments. The long term consideration should be important. Consider the share allocation ratio and Person with Significant control. I have seen in several cases where clients wake up to ask me to remove a Co-Director and Shareholder in a newly registered company on the ground that the person is proving stubborn and non supportive. Kindly note that a company Registered with Two Directors from beginning can't run with one Director. You can only replace and transfer the shares if he/she claims to resign. Two events that happened recently involving the Nigerian Comedy Advocate/Actor;Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie (BRAIN JOTTER) is a strong indicator that God has ordained him to use the Ministry of Comedy through the Gospel of Laughter to change lives unexpectedly. Apart from other of his humanitarian efforts, the heart touching incident that happened at his last comedy event in Abuja where a physically challenged lady became an instant millionaire with donations of over N30million rang a bell. Thanks to Brain Jotter who only wanted to appreciate her for being the earliest comer to the event after meeting her earlier before the event started but was surprised at her physical condition when called up on stage. This touched people and his event became a fundraiser for the lady which moved me and several others to tears. The event turned out to be for the lady; ESTHER ADA as God orchestrated it! Now coming to the current viral dance step which exploded the popularity of Pa Mike Ejeagha's KA ESI LE ONYE ISI OCHE (GWOR GWOR GWOR) song. Without any intentions and core focus on the song, he sampled the song along his crazy dance step casually and the internet caught fire with the frenzy. A global awareness was created about an almost forgotten legend and his song leading to everyone jumping on the challenge. This brought the name of Pa Mike Ejeagha to the fore again with people celebrating him at the ripe age of 94. With accolades and gifts of different nature pouring left and right, Brain Jotter made another great move of paying him a homage visit and honoring him with an undisclosed amount though which the media has rumoured to be N2m with more people still donating to Pa Mike Ejeagha. For God to have used him to bring back the sweet memories of the song and the owner is not ordinary because others could have sampled it without any impact. It further shows the grace of God and how God is using Brain Jotter to lift people up when they least expected it. Assuming Pa Mike Ejeagha is still very fit to perform on stage, this music revival could have raked him great shows locally and internationally with widespread collaborations which could have swollen his bank accounts tremendously. WHATSAPP's STRUGGLES TO CATCH UP WITH TELEGRAM AND OUTSHINE THEM Meta is trying to use the power of ALTERNATIVE CHANNELS ownership of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to overshadow Telegram.
