Good move. |
Those ones working now are possibly going to be out of function in 6 months' time. Believe me, those functioning 3 are already creaking under the strain of the overload, so are the teams of health care professionals. The stress of getting radiotherapy in Nigeria is unimaginable. You would have your surgery at FMC, Owerri and would be referred to UCH, Ibadan for radiotherapy. When you get to UCH, you would be shocked to learn that your number in the seemingly endless list is 733, and that number 25 would be the next in line to be attended to. Before your 2nd or 3rd session, you would learn that the machine had broken down and you would be referred to Benin, having learnt that UBTH, Benin, just fixed their machine. And the cycle continues. A couple of years back, it was reported that some doctors due for their final fellowship examination in Nigeria were refused confirmation because they had not witnessed an important radiotherapy in their area of specialization, not because they delight in playing truancy, but just because there was no functioning radiotherapy center across the country at the time. If the government of the day does not declare a state of emergency in the health sector, we all are in for a "big and dirty" rude awakening. |
He chose a good career path. Any profession that affords one the opportunity to travel the world and see other ways of thinking is the way to go. I hope he eschews "babymamaism" which looks like the latest vogue in the industry now. |
There must be more to this story. This was an incident that took place in the full glare of the public and I expect a more detailed report than I have seen up here. It will be difficult to rationalize how a body guard attached to a public office holder would just gun down an innocent Nigerian in broad daylight, despite witnessing nationwide protests against police brutality barely one month ago. |
You are a fine one to talk. Nigerian sports lovers are still reeling from the stun caused by watching you miss what should have been an effortless tap-in. Please, do not let us dredge up that ugly memory. As far as you are concerned, I think silence will be golden. |
That is forgetfulness and it is strange at your age. What makes it kind of worrisome is that you claim to remember names and faces but find it difficult to recollect your immediate past activities. It is not a typical presentation of amnesia, whether it is the retrograde or the anterograde type. I simply suggest you consult a specialist neurologist for detailed history, examination and investigations. All the best. |
It is a big shock because the general impression has been that when a man chooses to barb close to the scalp,it is either he is going thin on top or he is having a receding hairline. You can see that these gentlemen chose to carry that hairstyle of their own volition, not because of the shame of baldness, more like "having it and not flaunting it,as it were. |
Brazen flouting of the principle of Federal Character and undisguised display of Arewacentricity in the manner of his appointments so far. Totally unacceptable!!! And what is the main Ohaneze waiting for, that the Youth Wing will have to be the first to react to this injustice? Where are the Igbo governors, federal legislators, political and business leaders, accomplished academicians, seasoned journalists and all?? This is not a time to keep mute and pretend that all is well!! We are one of the three major tribes in Nigeria, and all the geo-political zones have got at least one appointment. Therefore,we must all rise against this unfair treatment because I'm double sure that the North would NEVER tolerate this in a government headed by an Igbo man. One Northern governor would have stormed Aso Rock to demand explanations. |
@OP...You may think you sound funny but all I see is tomfoolery of epic proportions. Firstly, you feel it was wrong practice to check your blood pressure because you had fever and nothing else? I pity you and the legendary ignorance you have just displayed here all in the name of ridiculing yourself(ofcourse not the medical practitioner). I believe you can read and understand,so go and find out what Vital Signs mean and their relevance in medical practice. I'm sure your pulse rate and respiratory rate were equally checked by the eminent matron nurse, but in your foolish arrogance, you did not take notice. Let me not dignify this post by commenting further, but just so you may know, you have declared yourself ignorant in the clime of the Olympian order!!! |
This is breath-taking!!! |

loopman:You should marshal out historical facts to buttress your assertion, instead of having to cower in the face of valid argument. Better read it,and with objectivity,it will help you. |

In Nigeria, you can work in an organisation that has nothing to do with what you studied. So,make the best outta your stay in school;that's all that matters. |
