This is really good news for Nigeria. It isn't always about sprinting ahead. Slow progress is better than none.

X and Y are mah great pals tongue

I am currently 25 years old and hold a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering degree, which consisted of majority math courses in my degree plan. That's very intelligent. Due to passing all of these courses, I currently earn $75,000 (14925000 in naira) a year after working only 2 years in the field; therefore, honey, I am FAR from dumb. I didn't get the job because of my degree exclusively. There were many others equally qualified. It was obviously because of the way I effectively communicate and speak. You are right. I don't notice slang. Good math won't get you very far in the world unless you plan to be an accountant, chemist, or engineer like me. However, the way in which you choose to speak is entirely up to you, but speaking correctly will get you far ahead in life and in good careers. It doesn't really matter how well you add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Those things won't be the determining factors in being picked first choice for a career.

Because your parents managed to migrate to America via visa lottery, you are now claiming to be American. Go and sit down you have African blood running in you. No matter how much you deny it, you are not a native American.

Stop associating yourself with other peoples success rather fight for your own.

This is almost hilarious. A visa lottery? What is that exactly? My entire standing bloodline was born and raised here. My ancestors are definitely from Africa, since that isn't hard to tell. Of course, I would have African blood running through me since only two generations ago, my great grandparents were most likely slaves. I don't fight for other's success. I fight for my own everyday. I am 25 years old, current Master's degree student, and I make 5-figures a year. I've done it all on my own with no help from anyone. I have never lived a day of my life on the continent of Africa, so I can't consider myself a native person of the continent, either. Since I was born here and lived here all of my life, I am a Black American of African descent.

Now that is a bloody joke from the number 1 murdering machine on earth. I guess stripping prisoners naked in Guantanamo Bay and all the rapes in Iraq were sanctioned by the UN. Let them stay away, besides, they probably have enough CIA all over Nigeria.

The number one murdering machine on the planet? That must explain why all of my Nigerian collegues have come here. They must want to be murdered! Wait until I tell them this. I think not. We made an example. If someone is going to harm our people on our soil firstly, then they deserve to be invaded. Super power of the world sounds more familiar. Are your people guaranteed jobs after college? Are the poor people still able to have proper housing and food on their tables every night? Do you have electricity 24 hours a day? Electricity was first discovered in the place that you call the murdering machine. For all of the prisoners being stripped in Guantanamo Bay, continue to strip them on since they had no sympathy for the lives that they took from others. I don't have sympathy for murders, child molesters, and drug dealers. Better yet, lock them up and throw away the key. There are probably more rapes happening in a country that has no strong judicial system, such as yours, and I'm positive the rapists are just walking around. If someone murders or rapes you in America, the police will be to your house instantly. Obviously, the military isn't properly trained to handle terrorism in your country and that has already been confirmed. I have many Nigerian friends that I have met in college and they all plan to stay here because they feel safer and they have jobs, something they didn't have back home. Trust me, CIA have better things to do than walk around in country where they aren't even wanted. That level of thinking is what will keep your country in the developing stage for years to come because any country with politicians in their right minds know that they can't exist without the help of another strong country. I'm sure your politicians think this way, too, and if they continue, Nigeria will be the next North Korea, a country with so much potential, but choose to seclude themselves and get left behind by decades.

I'm done here.

The correct way in which to properly say and spell the words within the sentence is as follows: I am shocked that you found what you typed above to be hilarious!

Instead of putting all of your energy into sarcasm, which is indeed a weak point of yours, try opening up an English book and practicing the basics. I will give you an A+ for effort.

I am glad to be reading an article of this nature pertaining to Nigeria. Getting rid of the corruption will help not only the economy, but the lives of the people to become abundant and flourish. It is time for the politicians to take care of their country! I am awaiting to read something about a set functioning and existent judicial system! Good for you all! God Bless Nigeria! wink

USA never gave Nigeria billions of dollars, what are you talking about. As I stated, Google it.

USA used to purchase Nigerian oil; they don’t anymore, end of story. I'm sure it wasn't because of us; maybe it was due to the corruption.

No one is asking USA to come to Nigeria. USA has offered on many occasions to station troops in Nigeria, but the Nigerian government has refused. The problem is USA policy prohibits American soldiers from working with militaries that have been accused of human rights abuses, that’s why their involvement in the Boko Haram issue has been minimal. You stated in your post that developed countries aren't getting involved and then you pointed out the U.S. disinterest specifically. The Nigerian government only refused because they know that all of these human rights abuses would be invested and someone would be held accountable. Of course, they wouldn't want us coming over there "trying" to take over things and unveil their dirty work now would they? There wouldn't be a such thing as Boko Haram when we arrive. But, they don't want to give us "all of that power."

And for why USA should be concerned with what goes on in Nigeria. Well Nigeria has the number one economy in Africa, with the largest population and the biggest potential. Trust me, the U.S. isn't concerned. But why should we be when your own politicians don't care about the people who voted them in office to protect them? That may be one of the reasons why we didn't care to stop purchasing oil without any dispute. It just seems as though you wanted us to be concerned with the post. Maybe I read into it too much? Anyway, for a country that has the number one economy in Africa with the largest population and biggest potential, don't you think it is kind of ridiculous that there are little to no jobs available for the poor and recent college graduates? In order for an economy to boom and be prosperous, there needs to be more opportunities for jobs and more people working than people who are not.

Since you picked out certain topics and refused to mentioned others, how about that Sharia law, corruption, and not being able to protect citizens due to a non existing functional judicial system? That doesn't seem like it's moving in a good direction at all.
Family / Re: Plz Advice... by morethanadoll(f): 4:51pm On Apr 14, 2015
This is one of the main issues that I have with religion. I am non-denominational, meaning that I focus on the Jesus being my savior and that is it. Religion is nothing but a distraction from what we should all really be focused on, and that being the story of our God. We don't need religion, since that only divides us. Now, as far as her committing to your church, I don't think that is something that she must do right now. You both are only aspiring to be married currently. It isn't about which church is better, but which church makes you feel the presence of the Lord. I think that you both should spend one Sunday at each other's church and decide from there. Even though it is a tradition in your culture for the woman to go with whatever the man is feeling, traditions are made to be broken. You should give each other the benefit of visiting each other's church and hopefully, by the time that you two are married, you can come to some type of agreement. Good luck!

I'm not big into politics, but I will give my opinion on this post in shining some light on the topic due to being an American. World leaders were probably gathered in France because these are countries that work TOGETHER and not AGAINST each other. In America, we have our own issues and politicians don't mind dabbling in other countries issues from time to time. But why must America be the entire planet's savior
? I only assumed this since you didn't point out any other country. Let me ask this. If there was a major crisis occurring here, would the Nigerian government send troops to help us? I truly doubt that. The United States used to send BILLIONS of dollars to Nigeria EVERY year in order to "better" the country. But what happens to the money? The corrupt government takes it all. It's public record. Google it. The U.S. will not support a president that promotes Sharia law or one that does a poor job of protecting its citizens and military personnel.

I can only imagine the pain that you are feeling due to your mother's actions. The thing is you don't owe your mother anything. It was her duty as your parent to take care of you and that is something that she failed at. However, she is still your mother and you should always love and respect her. Parents take care of children. Children don't take care of parents, especially when the parent is healthy and has a husband that can provide for her. You and your siblings have families that you all must take care of FIRST! If you all decide that you want to assist her, you do that only after your household needs are met. What's this statement about her not liking your choice of a husband due to him not being a millionaire? Well, looks as though she needs to find her a millionaire first before trying to impose that idea! Take care of yourself, continue to love and support your husband, and continue to be a great mother to your children. Your family comes first always.Best wishes to you and your siblings.

Family / Re: Why Do Most Men(married) Use Lock Code On Their Phones? by morethanadoll(f): 3:59pm On Apr 14, 2015
If he was just a boyfriend, then, I would say there should be no real pressure since you two aren't married. Since he is a husband, he should be able to give you his passcode freely and you should be able to go through his phone whenever you chose. I know that most people keep lock codes on their phones just in case it gets stolen. However, there is threat of that occurring if he is at home. You are his wife and I don't believe that a husband should have secrets. Who cares if he has porn on his phone? You are not a child. It seems as though he has something to hide, but I hope that is not the reason.
